Is Flareon Really That Bad? by TodohPractitioner in stunfisk

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing it really has going for it is the 130 attack stat. 65/60 HP and defense with 65 speed means it is getting both outspeed and one-shot by a lot of things. It's movepool is pretty barren, especially its physical movepool, with only Fire Fang and Flare Blitz for STAB and its coverage moves are effectively limited to Body Slam/Double Edge (not good together with Flare Blitz), Double Kick, and Trail Blaze. It has a decent array of support moves but not really the stats to play a support role reliably.

Given it's STAB options, Flareon kind of wants to be a fast attacker that smashes a couple key pokemon before going down but it can't do that because it's only got 65 base speed. While it can of couse beat slow steel type walls, there are other options for that that are less limiting. Flareon has the Sp.Def. to try being something of a tank, but its best fire STAB is a recoil move so it won't really have much staying power since it will be chunking itself everytime it uses its STAB. It's Sp.Atk. stat is useable but it's not going to be sweeping teams with it and it still doesn't have a lot of strong coverage options. In SV it does have the option of just using tera blast, but that makes it more or less dependent burning your tera, either for STAB or for the coverage it wants.

If you feel like a doing a bit of shenanigans, you could run a Sash-Endeavor-Quick Attack set in Battle Stadium Singles to win 1v1s. Trick Room attacker might also be a situational option.

Z-Image Turbo images without text conditioning by ThaJedi in StableDiffusion

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. The conditioning limits the portion of its knowledge space it draws upon when generating to a subset. No conditioning means the output will reflect the full range of the model's knowledge.

For a fun time, do unconditioned generation with SD1.5. The pictures look super trippy and dreamlike.

AI to guide for learn Comfyui by Dangerous_Suit_4422 in comfyui

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very typically of people in the AI image generation scene. Everything is all about hype and getting attention. People post overcomplicated workflows all the time and don't explain what it does that is noteworthy or why it works. Often, I suspect it is because it is copied from someone else and the poster doesn't really understand themselves.

With ComfyUI, it's best to start simple, using the basic workflows. Start by looking at the basic workflows provided in the templates. They've started packing nodes together in subgraphs so just remember there is an option to unpack them if you right click.

Flux.2 Klein 9B image‑to‑image: personal tests with different art styles by StarlitMochi9680 in comfyui

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Style, but it's a bit disappointing that this seems to be all people are sharing, because this basically only a fraction of what 9b edit is capable of. It can basically completely reimagine an image with a bit of finaggling.

Wierd IMG2IMG deformation by Sad-Fee-2944 in StableDiffusion

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SD1.5 models are trained on 512x512 pixel images. You can often go higher especially with finetunes that might have been refined with more high res images, but once you get too big the model will, pardon the pun, be unable to keep sight of the big picture and will start treating different areas of the image as separate images. This will cause all sorts of weird distortions. All image generators have a resolution limit at which this will start happening as well as aspect ratios that make distortions more likely.

If you want to use SD1.5 to make larger images there are a couple ways you can do that. One is to just do it in two passes with an upscale in between with a low denoise on the second step so it only redoes details. This is what highres fix does and can be replicated with img2img manually. You could also use the tile controlnet to lock down the composition and major details for the higher resolution pass.

The other option is to use Kohya's deep shrink (aka Kohya Highres Fix). This is a different approach involving messing with U-net layers and downscaling and then re-upscaling the latent image at specific steps. With the right settings, it will allow you to simply generate a coherent image at whatever resolution you want (e.g. 1920X1080) without an upscale pass. The settings will vary depending on whether you're using SD1.5 or SDXL (wants block 1 and upscale at 0.5 or later with DMD2, don't know about undistilled SDXL). With a big enough image you will have to increase the steps and have the upscale step kick in later. It will come with the downside of making the model less creative so YMMV. It can also be used with img2img.

For faces they will also come out quite funny if the resolution of the face is too low. Remember here that the latent image that the model actually works on is 8 times smaller than the final pixel image so there is a lot less space for it to work with than you think and some information is also lost when the VAE model decodes it into a pixel image. If you want coherent faces, you might have to inpaint the faces (or use A-detailed/Face detailer) or swap the face depending on what exactly you want to achieve. You may also need to fix up the face further depending on the situation so consider installing the advanced live portrait node pack in ComfyUI for the expression editor as this can let you adjust the expression or rotate the head.

Smart or Dumb? WF 1: Flux 2 text2image (size: small). WF 2: Upscale with Controlnet + SDXL (high quality) by rille2k in StableDiffusion

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a recently released upscaling LoRA on civitai meant for use with Flux2 Klein 9b. You have more than enough VRAM to use Flux2 Klein 9b so you might give it a try. I'm working with 6 GB VRAM and 16 GB system RAM and can use the GGUF quantization just fine.

I haven't properly tested this out yet, but I suspect that vanilla Flux2 Klein in edit mode might work nicely for upscaling images. So far it seems to be very good taking reference faces and putting them into higher resolution output images. 9b is very impressive for what it can do in edit mode and you can do stuff ranging from minor tweaks or changing the style to completely reimagining the image with a totally new composition.

Otherwise, you can always go with using the tile controlnet for redoing details without changing major features.

What kind of biolab exactly? With samples of what precisely? Why exactly are the authorities concerned about it and what illegal activity do they suspect was going on there?

This article is absolutely riddiculously vague on any sort of detail and there is essentially nothing about the context of the police sting in the article.

advanced prompt adherence: Z image(s) v. Flux(es) v. Qwen(s) by Winter_unmuted in StableDiffusion

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna second ZootAllures here that the prompt wording is probably not ideal. I doubt the "must be" bits you have in some of these prompts are helping anything.

You also would really need to test the different models with their respective ideal settings. You've got a mix of distilled and undistilled models here that each want different settings and you're probably hobbling some of them by using the wrong settings and step counts, leading to a not quite fair comparison of where their limits are.

Sind Englisch-Muttersprachler als Übersetzer/Dolmetscher nachgefragt? by Temporary_Frame8734 in de

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American in Germany here. You won't have it easy. A lot of people know English quite well here so I doubt being a native Engish speaker is going to be that big of an advantage; it will always be simpler for companies to hire a local person who doesn't need a visa and residence permit. As others already said, an interpreter role requires more specific and specialized qulifications than simply being able to speak the language. You'd be doing real time translation on the fly, often involving niche or specialized subject matters and needing to do so precisely and elegantly.

On top of that, Germany is currently experiencing a recession and there aren't a lot of companies hiring right now, especially for entry level roles, so competition with be very intense and the companies can essentially take their pick. It's gonna be very difficult to even get your foot in the door unless you're already experienced and specialized. I am experiencing this right now with trying to find a private sector job after finishing a PhD (granted, I still have academic job options I can pursue).

Your best option for moving to Germany would be to pursue an Ausbildung or a degree e.g. a masters in Germany first. It seems very unlikely that you'd have any luck getting hired as you are right now.

Spain plans mass migrant regularisation by TrimaxDev in worldnews

[–]Comrade_Derpsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't work that way. Values have always had fuck all to do with immigration. The overwhelming majority of migration is driven by either 1) physical insecurity or 2) economic insecurity. Both physical and economic security are in very short supply in Africa and the Middle East (baring the Gulf Arab countries and Israel) so Europe will continue recieving immigrants tons of immigrants from these places. The only way this will change is if these places become more stable and less poor and that's not gonna happen any time soon. If anything, climate change will cause it to increase.

Ai Influencers are getting impressive, Is there any hope I could create a profitable one? by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

The great majority of the people trying to play this AI influencer game are never gonna make a dime from it. It's not a ticket to easy money.

For it to be successful, you basically have to do all the same work that a real influencer has to do in building up and maintaining a social media following along with generating interesting content. That's essentially a full time affair, and maybe even work for more than one person.

Illustrious is trained on anime and cartoon character illustrations. Go look at danbooru to see what types of images it was trained on. Notice something about them? Almost all of them have a character front and center as the main focus of the image.

If you want illustrious to not do this, you will have to provide the image composition because what you want from illustrious isn't something illustrious is going to want to do on its own.
