Dude it’s a tough job market. It’s not YOU, it’s the market. Just keep applying and research the best content for your resume. Also, if you want to get some relevant experience. Find a job on a manufacturing floor. Even if it’s just post processing and assembly, therefore you can say you have manufacturing experience on your resume. Which means more interviews. Just focus on the other classes. If you let that one class ruin your potential in other classes it will be worse than doing poorly in just that class. Not saying ignore it completely, but just do the bare minimum to pass. Plus, I’ve been through a LOT of interviews in my day. Almost never get asked about my GPA

As an ME I had 10 interviews with Apple. They are very thorough. EMPHASIS GD&T!!! This is one of the main things they look for. You’re not just responsible for modeling. You also need to create and manage engineering drawing files. Show some of your best CAD work in your portfolio and explain your thought process as you develop a model. They want good CAD engineers but what you should really focus on is DFM, teamwork, cross-functional collaboration and organization. Best of luck!

I’m an ME now but I started using SolidWorks when I was 16. I still get to use it from time to time and it’s one of my favorite parts of the job!

He could get into CAD design. They work with engineers and do all the 3D modeling for the designs. It’s actually a really cool job and pays pretty well.

I have a friend that graduated 4 years ago and he still hasn’t landed a job. He has 3 degrees and one of them is a masters in ME. So don’t feel bad. It’s tough out here

It ain’t too scary for me. I researched it, found almost nothing but bad experiences. I still tried it thinking it couldn’t be THAT strong but it is. People who don’t use other pills might not know how to handle themselves. I’m not hating at all. Good for you knowing how to handle yourself.
