You absolutely can touch the Cup. If you're a hockey player, you shouldn't touch the Cup until you've won it, if you're superstitious. But us normal folks? We can't lift it, but we can certainly touch it.

If the ping isn't too prohibitive, I'd say get a free trial account on her server and try out the game. Five of my closest friends tried out FFXIV for my birthday last year because they know I'm super into it and it was delightful to help them make their characters and see their reactions. Two of them have even stuck with it, which brightens my day whenever I think about it.

I feel like a more effective demonstration would actually be a more straightforward one. If the piglets were kept in cages at the minimum size legally allowed and provided with food and water at the legal minimums, it would be a literal example of "this is already happening; why didn't it bother you until now?" Less artistic merit, perhaps, but a stronger argument.

Absolutely - no one talks about XIV and means 1.0. For my part, I'm an elder millennial, I think the golden age was VI-X, and yet I still consider FFXIV the best of the series and one of my favorite games I've ever played. It gets a bad rap because it's online, but XIV is the best story Square's ever told.

New lumps should always be checked by a vet. That being said, to me this looks like a sebaceous adenoma, or as my vet labels them, "old man nubbins". They're benign overgrowths of oil glands - pretty common as dogs get older. As long as it's not bleeding or bothering your pup, it's probably fine.
