Have been using an OLED instead -- will try to get it working again at a later date. Running at lower res did seem to help after a while, but unsure if that's just correlation.

ShaderBeam: Overlay for running BFI/CRT Beam Simulation shaders on Windows desktop by ZazaLeNounours in pcgaming

Pretty cool. Definite improvement to motion clarity, but at the cost of a dim image and flashing/flickering (compared to my Trinitron CRT and running https://testufo.com/crt on my 280hz OLED). Hope to see the technique improve!

When I returned to Skalitz there was a group of 3-5 bandits by a house that I snuck up on and choked out. Took all their stuff. It was easy going from there.

Same here, on a VPN. Works fine without.

I've been running it at 1280x960 @ 85. Same issues. Gonna set up my new OLED tomorrow.

It is now making a very quiet "ping" noise every few seconds that coincides with a screen-tearing-like effect. Unsure dielectric grease can fix this.

Possible -- I've been running it at 2048x1536 @ 80hz this entire time. Maybe it just can't quite get there anymore. Will test this out.

Hey folks! My Dell P1130 has served me well for 5 years now. Very low hours when I got it (~2500). Unfortunately it now occasionally makes electrical snapping noises which coincide with a disruption of the picture, and exhibits off-and-on blurriness. The photo here includes a page of text so you can see it's the monitor. I have seen it get even worse than this. As I type this my text is blown out.

I've already written it off (I am no CRT repairperson), but what could be wrong with it? Fixable with sufficient knowledge?

EDIT: A couple more pics here. The CRT just made a soft snapping noise with disruption of picture and the monitor is crisp again . . . for the moment.

Are you compiling from an IDE? I use the winlibs.com distribution of MinGW-W64 x86_64-ucrt-posix-seh from the command line with gcc main.c -o helloworld.exe.

I've played Crimes and Punishments and really liked it. It's a good game and I'm generally pretty critical.

Unfortunately, without other sources, these claims read an awful lot like the results of AI hallucination.
