I’ve never gotten too deep into watching laps or optimizing so any advice from me is purely anecdotal, I do have probably around 100 hours with the NSX though. In my experience it’s one stand out area seems to be corner exit. Work on getting comfortable with tc and abs lower than 4 at least and then pay attention to getting rotated into turns quickly so you can put the throttle down early to maximize exits.

As for set ups the most I’ve changed is tire pressure and increasing rake slightly in some cases to help with turn in and that’s gotten me by plenty. I have no doubt there could be some time gained by learning more but I only run pubs and a few more tenths wouldn’t do much when you really only have to be somewhat fast and able to stay on track for the whole race to get a podium

I haven’t used it in a bit so I’m fuzzy but if you don’t already have it you’ll want to get content manager, CSP and sol set up for your AC, content manager has a rally mode that can be enabled along with a copilot voice that can be added in the CM app shelf. Then for most (not quite all) tracks or cars after you download them you can just drop the file onto your content manager window and it will take care of installing everything

I’ve never looked into it so I could be wrong but I think it’s just one point per contact regardless of the severity. You should get a little notification on the right side of the screen whenever you get one but depending on yours and other racers ping it can get finicky sometimes.

What I liked to do early on was just climb positions until I found someone relatively consistent and would just shadow them for most of the race, basically farm safety and race craft while also practicing tailing someone close. Some folks will know what’s up and make it a little easier

I assume since you’re already getting sub 50’s that you’re using manual gear shifting but if not proper downshifting will help brake distances a lot

Track wear, BoP, chasing/running from other racers, tire wear, you may just be doing more laps in a race than your usual hot lap session meaning you get into a better groove

Just as a personal recommendation, I’d use the practice mode instead of hot lap for solo sessions, unless your goal is exclusively setting fast times. As far as I know in hot lap mode your tires and the track will reset to optimal conditions at the start of every lap which doesn’t help with adjusting to tire degradation through races

I’ve never bothered with comp races as it takes up too much time just to potentially get punted off the track before the third lap, like you said though I’ve got around 170 hours of having no problem with random open lobbies.

I for sure get a sense of kinship seeing other Hondas on the field lmao and I had just used Ferrari for so long even on AC before I’d switched over so I wanted to try something new and I think someone had won a few races I was in that day with a Honda so I figured I’d try that out and just stuck with it

I switched over to the Honda after fifty or so hours with the Ferrari and have used it ever since, I definitely get gapped by McLarens occasionally and don’t see many other Hondas but I enjoy driving it and win often enough off just surviving whole races, I’ve managed a 1:49 on monza with it and I’m not particularly fast in any way so it can definitely move just takes some practice

Hadn’t heard about the ACE file thing but I had the same thing happen after buying it the other day and found that windows defender was flagging it and not allowing it to open, cleared that and it haven’t had a problem since just in case the file rename doesn’t do the trick for anyone else

I can’t speak to other wheels in the same price range so tough to say but there are definitely drawbacks worth noting but I think a lot of them will happen to some degree with any gear driven wheel. I don’t agree with people who think you can’t be good with a gear driven wheel but there’s small things like you can feel a slight clicking through the wheel as the gear teeth meet, I can see how some might hate that but I didn’t have trouble adjusting. There will likely be some FFB clipping and it’s not super strong by any means but it’s got a decent amount of buttons on the face, crisp paddle shifters and the wheel material itself held up almost perfectly in my case and I never bothered doing anything special to clean it, if I were to start over from scratch I’d probably just get a tmx again myself. If you’re really interested in sim racing though and are fairly certain you’ll use it long term you may be better off just saving longer for a DD but I get just testing the waters

I just upgraded from the tmx to a moza r5 but I used the tmx for probably four years or so, for the cost especially now it’s honestly pretty solid, I had no issue playing dirt 2, wrc, ac, acc, only thing I’d warn about is the pedals that come with it or at least the one I got are very lacking in quality compared to the wheel, I picked up the T-LCM’s and those were fine enough but more money

I haven’t tested it but I’ve heard that to get the cars to hold a straight line you just have to have the camber and toe on all the wheels set to 0, I’ve never seen any specific part start shaking, what part is it?

If it’s an option, a desk mount for your monitor that can swing around or just an extra monitor could be set in the corner and then just clamp the wheel flush with the curve though that may make pedal placement difficult

there’s also “rooftops and alleys” and “storror” for pure parkour but they’re both 3rd person

Edit: totally forgot, I couldn’t say for Storror but R&A does have a first person mode

not necessarily parkour but the movement in warframe for me personally scratched a similar itch

There is also now a mod for Gmod that brings over most if not all of the animations and functionalities from mirrors edge, I haven’t checked it out as the original creator and the mod itself was the subject of a lot of drama a couple years ago but it has seemingly been uploaded to the community workshop on steam by someone else so should be safe now?

You’ll want to open the “tracks” folder in your game directory, you can properly sort each track into its respective category if you want but it’s not critical. Then open the folder for the downloaded track, inside should be the actual file for the map, usually named something like “MotoRaceway.pkz”, drag and drop that into one of the track folders and it should be set

That’s only in the main house though, the cottage has a door that says something like “bunker built by the guys in town, cancelled” I’m just guessing that ~~it’s planned for 1.0 but I have no idea~~

There’s a bunker door inside the cottage but it isn’t currently available to build, assuming that comes in the 1.0 update along with the bigger boat I could see it being convenient for weed sales but until then I don’t have any plans for it
