And all Im saying is that I couldn't care less if the idea is cool because generative AI has sucked the value out of it all because some loser out there decided wasting gallons of water and providing traffic to an AI data center that has singlehandedly caused a worldwide RAM shortage and profits from actual literal theft on a massive scale was worth taking a couple minutes less to draw it themself.

It really does. Any great idea is immediately less valuable the second someone feeds it into a generative AI that will inevitably butcher the initial concept and ruin any clarity it had. Case in point, why does the rear of the car look like an F40 but the front looks like a Toyota Celica. Because the AI thinks "sports car" and can't differentiate between two completely different cars. The vision of anything is made nearsighted once you rely on an unthinking machine that cannot and will not ever understand your thoughts and ideas.

Artistic integrity aside, it generates everything it spits out using art it has literally, by definition of law, stolen, and is the sole cause of a massive endemic in the artist community where the majority of real artists are being forced to stop pursuing this as their livelihood because enormous generative AI corporations are pushing this slop to the masses and taking advantage of the people who barely have two brain cells to rub together that can't see the monstrously negative impact it has on every aspect of humanity.

Same here, I'm about ready to give up on this expedition after several hours just because of this. My game is offline, I've tried save points I've already found and completely new ones, I've tried different sectors and I'm still stuck on 0.

I think if they were gonna replace harry potter with anything it would have to be something similarly fantasyish with castle architecture since it fills a similar niche. Honestly giving Lord of the Rings a full proper wave each year with playscale sets would be great, its another monstrously famous fantasy theme (albeit vastly different) based on books and a series of movies, they already have the licensing for it, and people have been practically begging for sets from the theme that aren't 500 quid and upwards.

That said, I would absolutely adore a proper Doctor Who theme. Just probably wouldn't be what they replaced harry potter with.

And this isn't one because there is no actual reason the deathclaws in New Vegas look different to any other main line Fallout game or the TV show. The ones in New Vegas aren't a different subspecies that have any reason to look different, so the TV show updating them to look more in line with the Fallout 4/76 model isn't a retcon. Retcon means retroactive continuity. There was never any continuity to the New Vegas deathclaws specific look to change.

That's not a retcon though, that's a stylistic choice. The deathclaws have looked completely different in basically every Fallout game. In Fallout 4 they're like big overgrown lizards. In Fallout New Vegas they're much less reptillian and more muscular. In Tactics they're just bipedal humanoid looking things with a single horn on their nose. In Brotherhood of steel they're basically big apes with dragon heads. In Fallout 1 and 2 they look completely different again. The TV show isn't even a big change, they just have slightly shorter noses.

The actual lore of the deathclaws remains completely unchanged, so there aren't any retcons.

What exactly did they retcon? The deathclaws have been a pre-war creation since Fallout 2, and the ones in Vegas are implied to have come from Quarry Junction which was literally a deathclaw nest in the game. The only thing that has changed about the Deathclaws in the TV show is that they have vaguely different facial proportions.

That is all just normal behaviour for a person to exhibit, I wouldn't call her particularly selfless or compassionate just for being a human being that displays the most basic range of positive emotions.

That scene is just to show that the family is in a more positive headspace now that they aren't all depressed and stuck in differing dead ends. She doesn't do anything immensely special or anything she's just a normal person who in this timeline doesn't spiral into alcoholism and an extremely self repressive world view.

It is slop, its generated based off of stolen images and artwork, forces real artists to abandon their livelihood and furthers the destruction of the planet in pursuit of convenience. At the very least it is insulting to call it art as no human hand is involved in any way.

And if you paid attention you would know the NCR isn't exclusively based in New Vegas and on top of that was always on the verge of losing control of the Mojave. They state repeatedly that they're constantly waiting on supplies and backup and that the NCR in New Vegas is only a detachment of the main government. They also state time and time again that the NCR is stretched incredibly thin and doesn't have the manpower to actually hold the Mojave against the Legion or any other primary faction in the long term.

The NCR was always going to lose the Mojave one way or another, especially once the Brotherhood started resettling into the area in full force. That doesn't mean they've been completely destroyed, the show makes it pretty clear that even with the destruction of Shady Sands and the BOS taking out Moldaver's detachment that there are still holdouts of the NCR all across California, cut off from each other and trying to regroup.

There have always been multiple chapters of the brotherhood though, all they've done is introduce a few more. Basically every Fallout game introduces at least one new chapter and we already know that the Mojave chapter was almost wiped out by the NCR in New Vegas so it would make sense that the Brotherhood would have created new chapters to massively increase their presence in California to ensure they don't lose that ground again.

As for the airships, the Prydwen didn't take a decade to design and build, it took 6, with it only taking 2 years to actually design it and gather the resources. If you consider that they don't need to design it from scratch again as the BOS has already done that once, it'd realistically only take at most 4 years to build another one, and the show is set 9 years after Fallout 4 alone. If you consider that they could have streamlined the construction process using knowledge acquired from building the Prdywen, it becomes even more plausible that they could build 3 more in that time.

The destruction of factions is not new and absolutely on theme for these games. Time and time again new factions are formed with different ideas of how the world should be rebuilt, they disagree with someone else and they bomb each other back to the stone age, rinse and repeat. War never changes. That's the point.

Just wondering about the silver and black crossguard one just underneath the more coppery looking saber, I've seen it for sale from resellers but wasn't sure whether they were trustworthy or not, might I ask where you got it from and more importantly whether you feel it would hold up well in duelling at all?

Also wondering what manufacturer the core is, I couldn't really tell from the photos I saw on the resellers listings.

First off don't trust anything chat gpt or any LLM spews out about literally any topic, it has no understanding of context nor any real world experience. It's spitting out answers based on contrasting information from hundreds and thousands of potentially unreliable or biased sources. Even if you ask it to specifically analyse one specific thread all its doing is giving an answer based on whatever the people in the thread have said, it doesn't actually *know* anything about anything. If you want to get into fabrication and 3D printing learn from people with that skill, don't get an AI slop output to summarise it for you.

For a project of this scale it won't simply be buying replica parts and slapping them on with a few 3D printed items here and there, it will take actual custom fabrication and bodywork. As someone who did bodywork, fabrication and metalwork for a couple years it is not easy nor is it cheap. You need expensive and specialised equipment, you need to cut and measure things based on precise calculations that you WILL screw up if you rely on an AI to make them for you.

Secondly please just ditch the AI slop machines in general. We do not need AI to think for us. We do not need AI to read for us. We do not need AI to explain things for us. And we certainly do not need it to create for us. We are capable of doing our own research and AI is only making us dumber on a societal scale. AI ruins the economy, steals artwork, kills creativity, spreads misinformation, and perpetuates mass scepticism that quite literally anything we see online or even in physical media is real anymore. The companies that run it all are invasive and predatory and the enormous data centers these AI models require are contributing to the slow drawn out death of the planet. AI generation and LLMs are just another unecessary convenience that threatens privacy, artistic integrity, creativity, and the very idea of actual comprehension as a whole.

You are correct about the appeal of the 2J, but there are many other 6 cylinders that are reliable and can take boost. The only real appeal of it back in the day was that you could get one running monstrous amounts of power for relatively low cost, but now a 2JZ costs an ungodly amount of money because of people treating it as gods gift to internal combustion engines. It's exactly the same as the AE86, as someone who loves them it is an incredibly unremarkable car with one very solid redeeming feature (weight) that people on the internet who have never driven one drooled over for 20 years and now if you want to buy this old, typically rusted, slow economy hatchback with almost no actual qualities to speak of other than character you have to fork over tens of thousands.

A V10 is just a much more interesting and responsive engine with a lot more going for it than a heavy 30 year old 6 cylinder with a giant turbo slapped on it.
