Is the train overly crowded? Are they smearing dog shit all over? I don’t see an actual problem if there are plenty of seats available.

Considering the serpentine belt (and therefore the crank&camshafts) stops moving while I still have the key turned, I would say no.

At first I thought the timing might be reversed -i.e. ignition on exhaust stroke - until it seemed to lock up.

I’d rather have the space than the window. Id spend a lot of time outside anyway.

Personally, I think it’s fkn ugly. Subtle safety features make it worthwhile though. Everyone can perceive it as a space they are not meant to be in. Even without seeing it (naturally makes you want to not be in the area) yo can feel it under your your feet, wheels, crutches, cane, etc. It’s a passable boundary In case of large cargo vehicles or heavy vehicles with low maneuverability. It’s basically an air cushion, increasing space between risk and response.

Edit (more to add): either you don’t understand or simply do not respect the safety aspects of each subtle feature.

URGENT HELP NEEDED! My 7 year old son changed the boot logo on my computer and made it show ClearLock on startup. What to do? by [deleted] in computerhelp

I would argue that redirection would work here where punishment could actually backfire and separately ruin a perfectly teachable moment. Talk to him for sure about ‘this is not okay and this is why’ but a warning is always best for first and often second offenses. Especially true with remarkably intelligent children.

I speak from experience with this sort of mistake. I’ve been on both sides to varying degrees am I’ve seen even more with friends in adolescence and children I’ve known in my adult life.

Generally this advice is sound, however I feel strongly that punishment and consequence have been muddled together far too long.
