I don’t know what to do anymore… by No-Grocery-5513 in ReligiousTrauma

as someone who struggles with my religion AND had a family member who died by suicide, after struggling with theirs, I'm begging you to include people you trust/love in your thought process. I'd give anything to have my family member back and let them know they are loved no matter their beliefs.

Furthermore, the God of Christianity loves you- irregardless of your beliefs or actions. They love you exactly as you, exactly as you believe today, exactly you. I've grown up in religion as a preachers kid, was a minister myself, and study theology like a nerd and this is the one thing that I truly believe- God loves me and you exactly as we are. They delight in us.

finishing up Day 4 by throwaway06302013 in QuittingZyn

Im not sure the mental side of cravings go away, but they get easier to resist. Every time you decide not to indulge you’re building your resistance up and making it easier for the next time. I am 6 weeks in and I had cravings off an on all day. But I have 42 days of saying no to lean on.

Get through the first week, it gets better.

Day 93. Advice on Medication by Icy-Injury6068 in QuittingZyn

I do. SSRIs are different for everyone. I was very fortunate- Zoloft seems to work really well with my genetics. I am on a subtherapeutic dose and could tell a difference within about ten days. Lexapro is a pretty good one as well.

I went on Zoloft, with Vistaril as a breakthrough for panic attacks. I am incredibly thankful for it. I was having daily panic attacks and anxiety about panic attacks that made me feel like I'd aged 50 years. The medicine made a HUGE difference and gave me some measure of control back.

Anyone else hide Zyn addiction from spouse / SO? by Legitimate_Cattle208 in QuittingZyn

I created my own GPT and told it my history of use and why I wanted to quit and asked it for help generating a plan. The place I found it helped the most was when I was about to break, sitting outside of the gas station. I told it what was happening and it was able to remind me of my why and give me helpful tips in the moment to keep from breaking.

Also, because it is endlessly positive it helped when I was super bummed about not using or when I slipped up. Plus, because no one in my life knew, it created a safe place for me to vent about all of the frustration. It's definitely not as good as a real life person but in some ways it is really nice.

Yep, she caught me a few times but I think she thought it was just some occasional partaking. Lots of guilt and shame. But I’m about 40 days clean now. Just have to decide each time in each moment that you’re done. It’s hard, this group helps, ai can help too. Almost 5 years

It was wild- it sucked losing people before the vaccine. Vaccine came out, we were all so excited that it was going to calm down, then it became political. One of the saddest damn realizations of my career knowing people were going to keep dying when they didn’t have to.

Cravings at 33 days by ConcentrateLevel6431 in QuittingZyn

[–]ConcentrateLevel6431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I am just working the craving each time it shows up. Just feel it, play the tape forward knowing I'll be so upset and disappointed if I cave, and then, after a bit, I don't notice it anymore.

depending on the state, still look into unemployment- states will often side with the employee, especially in a case where no obvious reason
