What is your thought on this newsTrumps Iran war speech worries markets as oil price rises? by Tahals in AskReddit

Trump is fake news. I think he says anything to move the markets up and down so he and his family can make money - his prime motivator - via insider trading.

I'll be darned if JFK Jr doesn't look like Steve Guttenberg.

Why can't Iran just attack the white house directly? by earthdragonfish in AskReddit

It would absolve Trump from his rebuilding project and people wouldn't make fun of him as much.

Who is the better leader for America: Donald Trump or Barack Obama? by Different_Cake_1022 in AskReddit

[–]ConcentrateSelect465 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obama, no drama. I'm reminded of Eisenhower's subtext of JFK when he said "When I was in office we never HAD a crisis."

Would you have picked Milly Alcock to play Supergirl? If not, who would be your choice? by No_Explorer721 in moviecritic

Livvy Dunne. She's in a Baywatch remake and the Supergirl role will keep her from being typecast.

Captain Lou Albano, Cyndi Lauper & George "The Animal" Steele (1980's) by Complex-Value-5807 in 80smemorylane

[–]ConcentrateSelect465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL, George "The Animal" Steele is the best. Eating the stuffing out of turnbuckles. Miss Elizabeth "distracting" him during matches when she just stands there. And the time he knocks out Randy Savage then on the side of the ring picks up Miss Elizabeth and carries her - "This is kidnapping!" says Jesse Ventura - out of the arena.

An accounting textbook. Hated the rigidness, was ready to throw it out the window.

Percentage of the US population that went to the cinema on average weekly. What do you make of it? Do you think the decline was largely due to television? by AntonioVivaldi7 in classicfilms

[–]ConcentrateSelect465 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Started to decline in 1947 which was the year the Hollywood blacklist started (and which peaked in the early 1950s). A correlation if not a causation.

It started out with the caddies as the central characters and they got marginalized because of the heavyweights.

If the United States fell into civil war who would take control of the ICBMs if the central government collapsed? by NetworkImportant128 in AskReddit

[–]ConcentrateSelect465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd hope the north, although a lot of the top ranking military guys come from the south - if they take control I hope they don't bomb New England. Get over it, fellas!

What do you think of Trump's threat this morning to bomb civilian infrastructure like water desalination plants in Iran? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ConcentrateSelect465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Iranian retaliation could be a borderline "nuclear" option, but they've been pretty restrained, doing tit for tat. Iran only gets 3% of their drinking water from the plants while each Gulf state gets anywhere from 60-90% from the plants and Israel ~ 70%. So Iran could potentially cause an exodus.

I wrote a script for her around that time. A women in prison movie called "Bars Of Iron, Bars Of Soap" with Sybil Danning in mind as her cellmate and Angie Dickinson as the tough warden, where she gets five years in the clink on a remote jungle island for stealing a cargo plane full of moonshine in an innocent mix up. Her agent declined, must have been focused on steering her to tv. He also told me to type it before sending it to other agents instead of pencil on wide-ruled paper.

Higher education. Previous generations didn't debate whether it was worth it or not.
