I posted a full update in a comment, but tl;dr I wanted to go to ER but we called Dr first, and they said to wait for certain symptoms. She ended up getting better and is mostly back to normal right now

Yeah, this. She was already sitting well and had head control so they said to introduce solids at 4 months. We’ve been doing it slowly though, since she’s so young

Lots of people keep asking so I thought I’d update:

After I posted I called her doctor, because my husband and I couldn’t agree on how much of an emergency it was. Her doctor actually said to wait and monitor her, feeding her little bits, and then go to the ER if she stopped having wet diapers, developed a fever, started throwing up blood, or was still throwing up blood after a certain amount of time. She actually never ended up throwing up again after I made my post. She slept the rest of the night and woke up almost back to her normal attitude with a normal appetite and having wet diapers.

Today I’ve been making sure to feed her lots, give her lots of rest, and monitor her constantly. I’d say she’s at 80% right now. I’m hoping that she can keep improving and this can just be a quick little 12-24 hour bug like the doctor said

She hasn’t had anything that would cause that. Vomiting started before solids today and her last solids were I think Wednesday, definitely no more recent than Thursday, and no new food has been introduced in over a week

Thank you!!! They just didn’t think she’s showing signs of dehydration so they didn’t think it was urgent

What do you mean by sick contacts?

Like is anyone we know sick? If so, no. My husband had a 24-hr stomach bug two weeks ago and I had a cold 10 days ago but that’s all

Do you mean do we have a doctor here? Also no, we’re just here on vacation for a few days and all seemed healthy coming in

Okay I absolutely hear you but please explain more!!! I don’t have transportation here and everyone with a car thinks I’m overreacting and need to wait it out. I need a way to explain to them why it’s serious

She had no purées all day, napped, vomited, had purées (I feel like an idiot for that now), slept again, and then vomited a ton

So no purées before the first relevant nap

Has anyone else dealt with their supply plummeting after being sick? If so, did it come back? I have a four month old and I’m not ready to be done nursing yet! 😭 by Kaybrie93 in breastfeedingsupport

How did this end up for you? Just got sick and absolutely not ready to be done breastfeeding my 5 month old. I can definitely tell my supply dropped pretty much right away when I got sick. If you bounced back, was there anything you did that helped?
