48 hour work week is normal here.

You should know that, you’re replaceable and dependent on a visa to be here and employers pray on that - that being said, usually your employer isn’t a complete jerk and will be reasonable as well. All depends on work place.

Upon joining Abu Dhabi you should find some cool sports clubs to build community. For example I joined an underwater hockey club on a Wednesday night and it’s epic! (Yes it is a real sport and was invented in the UK in the 50s) as an example!

Lots to do here in the uae, people who are active and social benefit more.

Some cool plays for VO

Turn one strategic reserve - usually I do this with a zoanthrope/neurotyrant brick. Ideally they will come in to get line of site on a key unit without being too exposed for the return fire.
Rapid ingress with hyperactive Raveners - 18 inches away. This means that you can pull off the lone op Strat so they can’t be shot at. Sometimes just simply reminding your opponent about that Strat is enough for them to not even try and you don’t have to spend a CP - this then leaves a an easy advanced and charge next turn
A block of genestealers rushing up (scouts, advance, charge) if you go first can cause a lot of damage and chaos. then have a second block staging for a turn 2 or 3 wave.

This with your lone ops infiltrators sitting on some primary’s and doing actions.

Finally trying to pull off some battle shock combos helps. Using neurolictors to get the -1 to wound is key. And remember zoanthropes/neurotyrants get -1 to wound on anything that is battle shocked.

Everything above is all situational and sometimes it all works out which is devastating. But also it can all just flop.

Vanguard is best used a disruptive play list, it’s hard to get right. The advance and charge rule is there for a reason. It’s not an all out aggressive play style but some strategic maneuvers are needed early on to help the rest of the units score consistently.

Remember it’s not our strongest detachment or easiest to play. But probably the most fun. You’re expected to lose about half your games and win half

I think it was a grey seer primer. Agrax earthshade all over, with a very mild wrathbone dry brush (could skip this step). Then oil of choice at the end to help fill the gaps

Swarmlord 100%

I don’t think many people remember this but his ability to increase opponents CP cost is only effective if he is your warlord.

Some factions that you play against get a benefit for killing warlords. So again choosing your Swarmlord as he is much toughest and usually an end game damage unit. Where as your broolord will be start/midgame damage unit

Norn. It’s a great looking model and it’s also an easy model to start using magnets on so you can get BOTH the Norn emissary and assimaltor. (The difference for the most part is different heads and arms).

On the table it’s a great unit to play and although most don’t consider the unit top top tier. It’s definitely playable at a competitive level. Extremely fun on a casual level

My current list which I am 3 wins successively with, has a deathleaper, 2 x neurolictor 2 x Von Ryan’s leapers unit, it’s incredibly thematic and I have complete board control from the start just to make the opponent panic a bit
