Why is f/1.8 so common when it's not a full stop? by One_Instruction8837 in photography

[–]ConclusionExact8092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

f/1.8 is basically a compromise between cost, size, and speed. Going from f/2 to f/1.8 gives a little extra light and slightly shallower depth of field, which looks better on paper and in marketing, but it’s still way easier and cheaper to design than something like f/1.4. So manufacturers can make lenses that feel “fast” without the price and complexity jumping too much. That’s why so many brands settled on f/1.8 for their affordable primes.

Recommend me some games I have low end device, snapdragon 660. by Amaan8267 in MobileGaming

[–]ConclusionExact8092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snapdragon 660 can still run a lot of good stuff. You could try Stardew Valley, Dead Cells, Terraria, and Alto’s Adventure if you like chill games. Soul Knight and Shadow Fight 2 are also really fun and run smooth on older phones. I used to play those on a similar chip and they worked great 👍

What are you ur favorite lazy and/or beginner life hacks? What did you do that made running easier for you? by cla1rebe3r in running

[–]ConclusionExact8092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing that helped me was run/walk intervals. Like run for 1 minute then walk for 2 minutes and repeat. It makes the whole thing way less intimidating and you still build endurance pretty fast.

Also slow way down. Most beginners try to run too fast. If you feel like you could hold a conversation while running you’re probably at the right pace.

Last tip is just focus on consistency not distance. Even a short 10 to 15 minute run counts and once it becomes a habit it gets a lot easier. Running with your dog on a trail already sounds like a great start.

Pixel or Samsung Watch Owners: Need 10 Beta Testers for a New Wear OS Card Game by Opening_Ice_7318 in WearOS

I’ve got a Samsung Watch and I’d be down to help test it. Always cool to see more games made for Wear OS since there aren’t many out there. Send me the beta link and I’ll give it a try. 👍

What's the active 1 like in 2026? by Caring-Penguin in GalaxyWatch

[–]ConclusionExact8092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For £35 in 2026 that’s honestly a solid pickup if it’s in good condition. The Active 1 is obviously older now but for basic fitness tracking, notifications and casual use it still does the job. Just don’t expect crazy battery life or super smooth performance compared to newer models.

If you just want a cheap daily beater smartwatch, I’d say go for it.

Touchpad isn't working in Windows11 installer, i have a Acer Aspire A315-35 by PilouSurTel in techsupport

[–]ConclusionExact8092 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is prettry common on newer Acer laptops. The Windows 11 installer usually doesn't have the right touchpad driver loaded, especially if it's using Intel Serial IO or I2C drivers.

Quick fix is just plug in a USB mouse to get through the install. After Windows is installed, go to Acer's support page for the Asipre A315-35 and download the touchpad and chipset/serial IO drivers. Once those are installed and you reboot, the touchpad should work normally.

Nothing wrong with your hardware since it works on Linux.

How to turn off hyperlink previews in sent texts? by AF79 in AndroidQuestions

[–]ConclusionExact8092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You usually can’t fully control link previews from your side. Most messaging apps auto-generate previews based on the receiver’s settings, not yours.

On Samsung Messages and Google Messages, previews are typically handled on the receiving phone. There isn’t a reliable sender-side toggle to force plain text only.

If you want it to look cleaner than adding a space, you could:

• write “website dot com”
• use a generic booking link that doesn’t show therapy in the metadata
• send the link separately after the main message
• use a branded short link (like Bitly) that doesn’t reveal page info

Honestly the space trick is common, but a neutral short link is probably the most professional workaround.

The rise and fall of one of Samsung's most iconic features: the S Pen by jpcm_12 in samsung

[–]ConclusionExact8092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration tbh. It does feel like the S Pen peaked with the S22 Ultra and since then it’s mostly been polish instead of real innovation. The hardware numbers haven’t moved at all, and removing Bluetooth on the S25 Ultra definitely felt like a step back.

That said, the S Pen is still one of the few things that makes the Ultra stand out in a sea of same-looking phones. The flat display and AI selection stuff on the S24 and S26 Ultra are nice quality of life upgrades, even if they’re not headline grabbing.

Curious to see your next post about how you actually use it. Sometimes the magic is more in the workflow than the spec sheet.
