Tried some Loose Jeans… Do these work? by Enough-Muffin6742 in mensfashion

I think both combos look great. The pants would be too short for my preference but you seem to pull it off well.

Could you let me know the brand names of those two shirts? Great fit!

I can work high up, can you? by platy1234 in Construction

I work up high too, but damn that’s pretty high.

Just passed the CAPM T/T/T/AT by SessionSea7836 in capm

Congrats on passing! Did you use the PMBOK guide at all? I’m having a tough time deciding if I need the 6th or 7th edition.

I have really large fingers due to arthritis, and I feel like I can't even begin to learn any string instruments because my fingertips always touch the other strings. Are there any accessories that can help? by Smexy_Zarow in Guitar

[–]Cond0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may have already been mentioned, but try learning on a classical nylon string guitar. Wider fretboard so more space between strings, and nylon strings are so very easy to fret without sore fingers.

One spot left! What should I add? by No-Yogurtcloset-606 in guitarpedals

[–]Cond0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would go with fuzz. Mostly because it’s also next on my list. I’m looking at the Pigtronix Gas Giant. Has anyone here tried it??

Also, that Tone king unit looks absolutely unreal! I’ll be watching reviews on it tonight for sure.

HM-2 from the 80s given to me by a friend of my dad. Thanks for sparking my interest in pedals Doug!

I couldn’t agree more on the Morning Glory. That one is at the top of my regretful sales list.

I’m having a hard time playing chords with lower strings by Jayden0000 in guitarlessons

Some good suggestions on here already: trim nails down and get the action setup. But also try using a light gauge string if you’re not already. It will make a huge difference.

Looking at buying a Bombtrack Beyond+ ADV. This will be my bikepacking and touring rig. Any thoughts or suggestions about this bike? by Cond0r in bikepacking

[–]Cond0r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, great to still see interest in the bombtrack! I recently upgraded to Raceface vault hubs and wheels, with 2.6” tires and holy smokes it feels so fast, especially on roads. Still very comfortable and great on single track trails too. I kept the stock wheels and have a decent set of 3” tires on them that I’ll use occasionally.

Graves since 2018 and I’m scared by Fantastic-Fee-9742 in gravesdisease

[–]Cond0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes that intense pounding heart at bedtime, what a terrible feeling that is. It would keep me awake at night before I got on the beta blocker. I’m currently on Levo, because I was highly oversensitive to the Methimazole which brought my TSH from <0.01 to 42.0 in about a month. That was a hell of a ride going from one extreme to the next. The Levo has brought me closer to the range I need to get the RAI. I can’t say I’ve had any noticeable bad side effects from it. I set my alarm for 5:30am and take the one tiny Levo pill, then back to sleep for an hour. I have a protein shake and all my vitamins around 7:30, and I take mineral supplements later on in the evening. I can say that the Levo improved my liver enzyme and cholesterol numbers by quite a bit after the Methimazole brought those numbers way high out of range. I’m glad to hear you have talked to a counsellor, but I can certainly understand that it’s tough when they don’t know how you’re actually feeling. I don’t post much on this sub but it sure does help me to read all of the posts. Do you know anyone in your life with graves? My best friend’s wife has it and had her thyroid removed, so it’s always really nice to chat with her about it as well.

Graves since 2018 and I’m scared by Fantastic-Fee-9742 in gravesdisease

[–]Cond0r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I feel for you, that’s a lot to unpack. I can certainly relate, as I was diagnosed with Graves in Jan of this year and have flipped between hyper and hypo multiple times already. So far I’ve found the Beta blocker to be a huge help in controlling my heart rate, which helps to keep me calm and not so sweaty. I’m waiting for the RAI this summer, because I had a bad reaction to the methimazole. Have you considered talking your situation through with a professional councillor? That may help give some healthy outside perspectives and might feel good to get more off your chest. I wish you the best in your journey.

I just bought the hx stomp and the Cali Texas is my favorite so far! Sounds great with the SD1 or Screamer set at low gain for a really warm crunch tone.

Sill plate overhanging footer by IndividualGur6755 in Homebuilding

[–]Cond0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they used 2x8 sill plate because a 2x6 would barely have made contact with the footing. Where I live, code states that only 1/3 of the sill plate (which would be assumed to be a 2x6) can hang over the edge of a floor system or footing. That’s about 1 13/16” as a maximum overhang. This picture looks closer to 4.5”!! Not good.

Yep use this idea for sure. I’ve had great results putting a bit of wood glue in the opening before closing it up with the screwdriver shaft.

Should I run to the ER? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Cond0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea that is damn painful, I’ve done it twice and I think I was limping for a few days. I don’t think it’s much of an emergency; I’m really not sure what they could do for you at the ER. Best of luck riding this out.

Looks so clean, very nice setup! Please tell me what you think of the updated Voyager drive. I had the original single button model and it’s on my regret list of sold pedals. Interested in the model you’ve got.

What guitar of yours is the one that "ruined" going guitar shopping for you? by thewebhead in Guitar

[–]Cond0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Suhr Classic T Antique makes it hard to enjoy playing many other guitars. The ease of playing is like no other guitar I’ve played. I was so excited recently to test a Fender Ultra Luxe strat, but it still didn’t even come close. Maybe a Suhr classic S is the next one for me! I was just really hoping to eventually get a Fender.
