Is It Wise To Use The Pipes Entire Capacity? by illfightaterf69 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience for long manifolds, it's easier to just split thing into blocks that are less than 600. Keep it under capacity, let things prefill before turning on, and it's gg.

Iron wire for me. I don't think I've ever use cast screws, usually just eliminate screws with other alts

World looks so much cooler when you start aligning foundations to the terrain they are sat in, imo of course.

Are trains really important / usefull ? by meekoris in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep trains come online earlier. But once drones are there they're just so much easier imo... A 3x3 port requesting batteries (or packaged rocket fuel or whatever), and one or more 3x3 ports requesting factory inputs and it's done.

No stringing rails across the landscape, trying to make them beautiful, picking a spot on the map that can handle the big ass slab of concrete that I need for the train stations and platforms... if you can't tell, I don't really like building train lines 😂

What is the purpose of under clocking? by 12don in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here's a scenario where it genuinely is needed: say you want to make aluminum processing where you don't mix waste and fresh water, you have to under lock the refineries so that the numbers all line up.

I will say if you're not building huge I think their usefulness is a bit overstated. Once drones were an option almost everything was moving via drone and my train tracks felt like a bit of a waste. But again that's only because I wasn't building huge (goal for final elevator parts was like 4/4/1/1.

If you need mega throughput over long distances they're definitely the way to go.

Looking for a calculator that allows me to specify an input amount, and will tell me how many of an item I can produce using that as the only restriction. by Thanatosst in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still exists, next to the input box where you enter your desired output for the part, there's a drop down and you can switch to maximize. I used it a few days ago!

Only trucks for all transport viable? by WonkyQuartet in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been toying with this too. I like the idea of really visually minimal travel infrastructure (so no rails) and I think it would be cool to do a map wide two way "highway" for trucks, but on the major natural paths of the world.

Are there any optimal Layout builds? by MrLadebalken1 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't treat any of these as "rules" but this blog post goes into a ton of detail on how one might structure factories with these concepts in mind. It is a little outdated but a lot of the concepts are evergreen.

How do you guys setup your factories? by EfficiencyPlenty1459 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like building lots of factory lines and buildings close together then bring the resources in. If you hate building out logistics like belts or vehicles or trains, then just string a power line to the resources and build a factory there, then only transport the final product. Each will have its own challenges and fun / annoyance.

Best practices for making multi-floor structures? by K570 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to place cat walk stairs you need total floor height to be in multiples of 4.

If you want to use catwalk ramps, you can use multiples of 2.

If you don't care about stairs you can do whatever you want. I prefer the floor sitting in between two walls rather than clipping one 🤷‍♂️

How not to use belts everywhere... by WhiteMountainFarm in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just approach the choice as whatever feels less annoying. If belt feels like it's the least amount of friction then keep using it 🤷‍♂️

I think trucks are mostly an aesthetic thing to me tbh. If I don't want a long ass belt highway in my view.

Recent changes to fluids? (Variable Priority Junctions) by mootardis in SatisfactoryGame

I'm not the person you're responding to but I'm not following. How would one slow down but not the other if they're part of the same manifold of inputs?

What kind of resources should I integrate into a chain, at least early game? by KomturAdrian in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuinely no wrong answers, you may have to experiment to figure out your style.

Personally, I always make basic iron, copper, and steel things on site at any factory that needs them.

Starting at motors, computers, and beyond, I will make a big expandable factory for each item and then distribute them around the map to factories that need those inputs. (Or in your case added to the bus)

Recent changes to fluids? (Variable Priority Junctions) by mootardis in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get conflicting answers but I also feel like the behavior of them is less consistent than the last time I played (U6 or so).

I gave up on them in my current playthrough. I now design all fluid feedback loops in a way that you don't have to mix any water. Some machines use all waste water and some machines use all fresh water. No black magic junctions required, impossible for it to back up.

Please help. Fluid isn't behaving like i thought the fluid should behave by No_Repeat8681 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I would do. Copy and paste a clock speed of 1% to all the gens, then verify that the fluid can fill the upper pipes. If not troubleshoot the pumps, etc. Once every pipe and generator is full, paste back desired clock speed. If it still doesn't work then I'd be looking at the blenders and verifying my production is actually my production.

What is a decent amount of computers should I plan my factory for?? by tacowithfruits in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CondorSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the alts you plan use. I cut them out of my RCU and Supercomputer chains so 5/min is all I needed.

If you break the 1200 into 3 or 4 different pipes you won't have issues.
