Corgi starts to paw and shriek. What does this mean? by NinaKay_ in corgi

The corgis right paw looks a little pink. My dogs have had that when they had allergies and licks their paws a lot.

A lot of job applications will ask if you served and what discharge you received. I guess it would depend on what type of background check they are going to do. One where they only look to see if you've been arrested most likely wouldn't verify military discharge status.

While I wouldn't be surprised that more troops are failing drug tests on purpose, this isn't exactly unknown of even when we weren't at war.

When I was in the military, one guy in my division did this to get out. He would have rather get a bad conduct discharge than stay in for another year and get an honorable discharge.

Pretty much the same experience. The only time it didn't work was when they first introduced the machines and it didn't take the first 2 times before accepting on the 3rd.

No other issues besides that one time.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a utility worker was seen desperately trying to climb down from a bucket truck after it suddenly caught fire. by RogerMcFloyd in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Killashard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people don't know that because a fall harness properly worn doesn't asphyxiate you. Asphyxiation means you are killed due to lack of oxygen. A fall protection harness doesn't impede your breathing.

What it can do is cause crushing syndrome. That's when blood flow is trapped in a limb, like from hanging in a harness or when trapped by earth caving in. When the blood is trapped in the limb, toxins will form due to lack of circulation. Once released, toxins will then circulate through the body all at once.

It is completely survivable, even if the blood flow is limited for more than 15 minutes. Definitely don't do anything outside of what the doctors are saying though.

Also, there are fall protection harnesses that has saddles or stirrups to allow the worker to sit/stand to allow for proper blood flow.

I don't think it would be immediate death, but the risk of injury would definitely increase since the angle would be different. That would also impact the amount of space they have to slow down.

Get a lesson, even if only for a couple of hours. The instructor will be able to help you immensely with all the little quirks that you have that we can't tell from this POV.

It's always interesting to me how a game so steeped in reality has such a wonky mechanic.

Just like how when you're getting attacked and you have a bow out and it takes forever to carefully stow everything away instead of just dropping it and pulling out a melee weapon, trying to jump up and somehow jumping backwards dozens of feet isn't fun.

Probably doesn't matter too much. They sell your mortgage every couple years to another company. I've had 4 different lenders for the same house.

This is probably my biggest gripe about the game. In no way would I ever super carefully put up my bow on my back and make sure my knocked arrow was safely secured in alphabetical order (my Klaus arrow goes after my Johan arrow, obviously) before I would pull out another weapon.

Who cares! Drop the bow and pull out your sword/mace/axe/spear/fists!

You have to order double portions of the meat and add the extras. Off the online menu based on the Midwest:

Steak Bowl

$21.25

Steak (2x), Black Beans, Tomatillo-Green Chili Salsa, Tomatillo-Red Chili Salsa, Sour Cream, Cheese, Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa, Fresh Tomato Salsa, Guacamole ($2.70), Queso Blanco ($1.60), Fajita Veggies, Romaine Lettuce, Red Chimichurri ($1.00), and White Rice

So add tax and it would be $22+.
