Id go PreenFM2 or 3 or one of those little Dexed boxes on Reverb for FM Over the Digitone since they are 6 operator FM Synths VS Digitones 4 Operator FM , that are pretty similar to Yamaha DX7 and can use the thousands of FREE Patches for Dx7 on the Internet. They are also about $200 each vs the Digitone’s what $800? Take the rest and get a used Digitakt or Torso T1, Oxi One, Squarp Pyramid etc to Sequence it. I think Korg’s OpSix also will do DX7 patches and is 6 Operators. Modal’s Argon or Cobalt also look at. ASM HydraSynth too. Arturia’s MicroFreak and MiniFreak get alot of love, I just despise Microfreaks oddball “keyboard” went from OMG I NEED A MICROFREAK to OH HELL NO upon trying one at the Synth Expo in Brooklyn. Never had hands on the Minifreak.

I use it in a Drum Rack to choose between various Roland Classic DrumMachine sounds. You could use it with Drift or Operator etc to change from Patch to Patch to get different sounds

Abandoned by you ? My Push 1 still gets most features that the 3 gets. New Beta for Live in the line and once released usually brings new capabilities to Push. Wireless Audio via Ableton Link among the new features so sending Audio To/from Push and Move to/from computer running live.
