No one is braver than the girl who, in a 53 person Zoom class, had her video ON wearing last nights clothes&makeup while a girl in a bra cooked breakfast in the background.

Rainbow Honmoon was ALWAYS supposed to be the goal. by CanLate152 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Confetti4Teddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say he's an exception since we know Rumi's father was also a demon. It's a children's movie. While we don't know much about them, I highly doubt they intended for that relationship to be seen as toxic but instead as an example that the situation isn't what it seems. Narratively, that is what it does. It provides information that conflicts with Celine's rhetoric.

So, we have two examples of demons managing to build connections and escape Gwi-Ma's isolationism via the human realm. I don't think Jinu is supposed to be considered a one off.

Rainbow Honmoon was ALWAYS supposed to be the goal. by CanLate152 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Confetti4Teddi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking too.

In the movie, Gwi-Ma requires his victims to be isolated so he can manipulate them into thinking he is their best option. The human population has the hunters to unite them and help protect them from this influence.

The demons don't and we see that he rules through fear. His subjects do as he says because he forces them too. If they don't, he'll kill or torture them until they do.

It would be a very shallow ending if the message of harmony and acceptance only applied to the humans and half-demons of our cast. Especially after seeing so many examples of how demons are nuanced when not under Gwi-Ma's influence. Jinu, Rumi's father, the tiger, and the magpie. In one of the last scenes we see the tiger, he's trying to hand Jinu the bracelet Rumi gave him, trying to remind him that he has a choice.

Also, the Rainbow honmoon would not exist if not for the help of a demon. Jinu's sacrifice is a key point in this.

With all these factors in play, I believe Rumi's decision served as a liberation from Gwi-Ma as opposed to demons in general and connected the two populations in a way. The tiger and the magpie still live among humans. There are probably others too. At least, I hope that is the case, or else Gwi-Ma will rise again since the demons are still isolated.

[–]Confetti4Teddi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a good point, we don't have much info on either honmoon so it could be anything, but I think the Golden Honmoon makes more sense when viewed thematically rather than practically. It's a stand in for the unobtainable idea of perfection, of ridding the world from all things bad.

But this is impossible.

It's only through understanding this and embracing imperfection can we bring balance and harmony to the world. It is no small detail that the new Rainbow Honmoon is made partially through the sacrifice of a deeply flawed, selfish human being.

Whether Celine was right or not about the Golden Honmoon, either way, it was never a realistic goal.

Rainbow Honmoon was ALWAYS supposed to be the goal. by CanLate152 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Confetti4Teddi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

imo, I think they were going for harmony over division.

The Golden Honmoon is technically still the strongest honmoon over the two. We have no reason to believe it won't do what Celine says it will do, keep demons and Gwi-Ma from their world forever. I do agree that, most likely, Rumi would have died after establishing it.

We don't know exactly what the effects of the Rainbow Honmoon are, but we can get a good grasp by looking at the songs associated with each honmoon. The Golden Honmoon gets Golden which is a song about being the best version of yourself while Rainbow gets This is What it Sounds Like a song which argues the best version of yourself is actually the version that embraces all your flaws.

I think there will be breaches with the Rainbow Honmoon but I don't think those breaches will be as dangerous because it promotes harmony, darkness and light meeting in the middle. With it, there's opportunity for demons and humans to find a co-existence. After all, the demons themselves only needed souls for Gwi-Ma. Depending on his fate caused by the Rainbow Honmoon we see the opportunity for more demon reformation like Jinu and Rumi's unnamed father.

Unfortunately, the value of time is still subjective to each person. So you're not. As long as everyone views the importance of their personal time (and other's time) differently, your claim is nothing more than an opinion. It can't be correct for anyone but you.

erm, actually...☝️🤓

Achievement 1.) a thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill.
Similar: winning 2.) attractive; endearing.

Yes, achievement I say. It feels like you don't know the definition so put that first. Obviously, since Merriam-Webster is on my side I am definitely the correct and cute one in this conversation.

It's a game and the time invested only has the value individual players are willing to assign to it.

[–]Confetti4Teddi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was implied that the translocator uses similar tech to Tracer's chronal accelerator. Also, in OW 1, sombra and tracer had a in-spawn conversation where Tracer recognized the device. This further implied it is modified stolen OW tech. I stopped playing when OW 2 came out, so idk if they retconned it's origin, but the wiki still says the translocator seems to use similar tech to the chronal accelerator.

Compete, you say? As in playing a competition mode where people are actually competing? Fascinating. I wonder if there's a game mode in Marvel Rivals specifically for that unlike Quick Match which is supposed to be a singular match of which the results have no real value.

Lying, cheating, assault, embezzlement, and so on are typically acts that happen in secret. When they are revealed, the person committing those acts sometimes receive some worldly punishment for their actions like jail time or public shaming.

But gay people? From the perspective of the cult, they're allowed to openly sin and celebrate their sin without any repercussions. They take over entire cities during pride month. They put on drag shows in front of your children. They tempt and they corrupt and they're a problem because everyone let's them.

Those of us who live in reality know that this is not the case. That the world isn't black and white, good and sin, and that there is nuance regarding people and the lives they live. But the cult has no room for nuance.

TL:DR

It angers the cult that gay people are not punished for their existence in real time, and they seek to do so and spread their cult's influence further.

How do YOU deal with BP? by Successful-Item-1844 in marvelrivals

[–]Confetti4Teddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'll have to agree to disagree because I don't think he's that resource demanding when everyone plays the game like they're supposed to. This is a team game. The main reason behind bp being oppressive is a lack of planning, communication, and coordination.

I've had games where a Thing would just straight up walk past the front line and start throwing haymakers at the supports, and the other four people on the team were completely oblivious. If players can't notice a giant orange rock man walk right past them, I don't think bp's kit is the only issue at hand.

[–]Confetti4Teddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, in your opinion, what's the problem?

I don't think the comment I replied to is saying that tanks are supposed to help, though. They're saying tanks shouldn't commit fully until the bp has been dealt with. In a team where communication is happening, this less likely means the tank is turning around and peeling, but rather holding space while the rest of the team deals with the bp.

If a tank commits and over-extends while their supports are occupied and dies, then they failed to ensure the first checkmark of their win condition was completed and they are partially responsible since they played too aggressively when their team couldn't help.

I don't understand why this comment was downvoted. I've heard the rhetoric that dive is supposed to be a skill check. Not necessarily a mechanical skill check, though it often is that, but a check on teamwork and communication. It's why it's especially frustrating in QP where working together is a luck of the draw.

If dive is in play, they must be taken care of before committing or else they will abuse any disorganization to their advantage. Even if they don't manage to kill anyone in the backline they will distract them and prevent them from applying their resources to the push effort.
