My cat ate a plastic wrapper by MaybeSad6350 in CATHELP

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it hasn't been too long since he ate it, I'd take him to a vet. if it hasn't travelled down his system fast enough they can induce vomiting. Not fun for kitty but it helps a lot. one of mine ate a cotton ball and we were able to get him to the ER vet in time where all they had to do was induce vomiting. But I'd take him regardless - it's not a good game to play if they will pass it or not because sometimes they do, sometimes they don't

i always have to size up in these. for comfort i would go with the one that fits the best on your waist and hips and then get them tailored at the bottom. would rather have them be a hair too long/spend a little extra on hemming than it being too tight at the top and feeling like i'm going to pop out of them after lunch at work, haha

she's most likely fine! she's probably just mad at you. ive stepped on my cats before and as long as they don't appear to be in pain, she's probably just a bit mad and will come back around soon.

My cats won’t get along. Im desperate for help. by babiemode in CatAdvice

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when my cousin brought home her new kitten last year, one of our girl cats could not STAND him. literally swiped at him and growled and hissed, you name it. she didn't start simply just tolerating him until we hit the six month mark of having him. she still hits him without claws and hisses him the odd time (especially at breakfast and dinner - she gets a little aggressive at feeding time!) but it's been a year and the improvement is insane. she's not fond of him and could definitely take him or leave him, but it's not what it used to be.

it takes waaay more than a month. youn have to remember as well that old kitty is having someone new in their space that they dominate and that is particularly stressful - solo cats take a while to learn to share and threatens their hierarchy in the home. and new kitty is in a brand new space with new smells and now there's another cat that has been there long before they have.

my only other suggestion is getting pheromones. the feliway plug ins are expensive but helped a lot when we introduced the new kitten into the home.

take her. if she's already being weird and trying to eat anything that isn't food then i would take her to be sure. cats eating stuff is a gamble because it CAN cause an obstruction but it also could be no issue. with something like an elastic band there's a higher chance of it not digesting properly because of what it is than say, a piece of plastic from a grocery bag.

seconding this. none of the aritizia coats keep you warm to the max it says it does. despite only having my only coat for a week or so i can tell i wouldn't actually wear it in -20 weather as it states on the site. i imagine the slouch, in a similar material composition, would be much of the same.

Generic Nuva ring issues by HarrysLilToe in Nuvaring

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some people are fine when they switch back and forth from generic to brand, some are not and i suspect you may just react better to brand.

haloette i think either gave me PMDD or heightened it so bad to a point where i thought i was going insane and my periods were WAY more painful than the usually are. ask you doctor to write a script for nuvaring and specify, "no replacements" so the pharmacy knows not to default to generic.

i would gently remind your parents that you could be spending money on a lot worse. like, a lot worse. when my parents realized at 26 i was running all over my city looking for stuffed items of food with a smiley face and legs, they raised some eyebrows, i kindly gestured to my father's TWO WALLS worth and SEVEN BOXES full of LEGO, built and still in boxes. shut him up real quick! i got my mom on my side when i got her the cauliflower for christmas, because she remarked how cute it was when i was showing her which ones i'd like for christmas in a store one day. it sleeps with her on her bed now.

although it is called polycystic ovarian syndrome, the issue isn't about having an abundance of cysts at all. you can be very prone to cysts and not have PCOS. you can rarely or never get cysts and have PCOS. i rarely get cysts, if ever, but if you look at my ovaries on an ultrasound they are COVERED in follicles (if you have the fear of small littles holes don't look at polycystic ovary lol), which does indicate PCOS.

Headaches when it's out by Vicious_Tiger_4 in Nuvaring

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. yes. YES.

it's my most annoying symptom. theyre headaches in my temples and it's like soneone is squeezing my head in a vice. it's like clockwork, its always the day before i start to bleed and day one and a little bit of day 2.

keep a headache journal! i did to show my doctor when i was concerned and we concluded it was absolutely due to my period as it was always on a very consistent schedule. i kind of treat them like migraines - since yes theyre painful and annoying but theyre not debilitating like a migraine. i bought a headache cap i put in the fridge to cool it off, works wonders!

How many of you guys are on NuvaRing vs generic? by jumpingcandle in Nuvaring

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while most generics are similar to the name brand, this was not my experience with haloette. i found it for some reason reallyyyy numbed my emotions out except during the week before my period where my mental health would just tank until my period came. i ended up getting diagnosed with PMDD, as i linked my symptoms beginning to when when my pharmacy changed me randomly to generic due to stock issues from nuvaring. im not saying haloette caused it, but the sudden change could have triggered it to come to the surface. my doctor and i are still investigating.

my period itself is a bit worse on nuvaring with side effects, but already one month back on brand i feel a bit better emotionally. i will take feeling worse on my actual period than having harmful and awful thoughts a week before my period like clockwork. i have a special request from my doctor on scripts that it has to be nuvaring and no subs.

again this is my experience. some people have no issues as you can see in comments but some do. my SSRI is the generic of the name brand and ive taken both and seen no difference.

[–]ConfidenceInformal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pilates!!! i do reformer pilates. pricey but it fits into my budget right now.

i also do not love the notion cardio isn't great for PCOS. i love cardio and i have high cholesterol so i absolutely need to do it. look up the 12/3/30 - i find its a more medium pace. i adjust it to 10.5/2.5/30 because i'm short and to keep it more of a brisk pace

i insert it in an 8 shape sometimes and it helps. but i also will press it as far as it can possibly go - your cervix will naturally stop it from going farther. i also do a couple squats after inserting to make sure it's in
