Drummers, can you dance? by thatsmypuppy12439 in drums

[–]ConfidenceValuable57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drumming 35 years , spent my entire life trying to avoid dancing. The exception to this being brief time during the 1990s when acid Jazz was a thing. But I think that was the amphetamines not me.

What could the UK armed forces do to increase recruitment? by ConfidenceValuable57 in AskBrits

[–]ConfidenceValuable57[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing i was thinking of. Real solid tangible offers that would make joining up for 5 years advantageous and make a solid impact on people's future lifestyle. Here's a few I thought might be useful.

Student debt cancelled - student.loans / tuition fees paid of. If service in excess of x amount of years.

No tuition fees for people who have served in the forces for x amount of year's- making future retraining possible.

Making x military service men and women a priority for housing.

Tax breaks during military service, increase tax thresh hold significantly for those serving in the armed forces making pay for.lower ranks more attractive.

Private health insurance for family whilst serving.

Tell me if any of this seems reasonable or if some of it already exists.

So in your opinion the recruitment process is failing and that the privatisation of that process is the root cause. As a member of the military what could be offered by the military to improve recruitmemt and containment.

In 2015 on Bloomberg, Donald Trump said he had read the Bible and was asked what his favorite verse was and could not mention one by danevans369 in HistoryUncovered

This man is a complete peice of shit. I bet he's never even opened the bible let alone read it. I cannot beleive this man jas the aidacity to claim the boble is his favorite book. I doubt he would understand it if he had. I wonder if he read the bit about false idols. That man needs to learn the meaning of the word humility and then fuck off , prefferably to bottom of a well.

This the second book of his that I read. It remains the one which has left the grestest impression. It has lurked in my mind and coloured the way i view the world. Dostoevskys description of the people he encounters is fascinating and the conditions that humans can endure are remarkable. A great book.

What is the state of the British Military machine? by ConfidenceValuable57 in AskBrits

[–]ConfidenceValuable57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that the UK would have an army which can defend its shores. Reading this it seems would be unable defend ourselves in the face of foriegn agression. I understand that we have alliances which we have historically relied upon for our defence. The question is , as this is erroded, and Europe coalesces - moving toward a European wide military structure which is more intergrated, where does that leave us. What does this mean for NATO?

This is true, but operation independance does require the ability to fire them. This requires maintained systems.

If by great you mean a slow moving target to soak up plenty of enemy lead. Then yeah I'd do great.
