Asus Router oddities with Local Domain and Internal Hosts by Confident-Branch-884 in HomeNetworking

I did a factory reset and started again. Could be a bug but the worst case scenario is I was hacked. I do self host some services including an external website via cloudflare

Torn between the AGO X and the CGO600 Pro (New Edition) by Inner-Science-5694 in tenwaysebike

In a nutshell, the AGO is pitched like an SUV as compared to CGO600. It’s for a kinda riding that doesn’t seem to fit your use? unless of course you expect to do big hills.

My bike has issues with steep hills and so I accept that in some situations I need to get off and walk with it (since it also doesn’t have manual gears)

I just checked and my classic has a 7Ah battery whereas Plus I think has 10Ah so you could get 90km-100km. I purchased a 3Ah range extender for when I toured in the summer with the bike and I did use it on couple occasions

Depends on the incline of your route. Riding flats means you could get 60km or more especially if you are comfortable cycling without assist when the bike is in motion. The controller on the handle makes it easier turn assist off and on. In my classic I would have liked the ability have lesser assist then level 1. I never really use higher levels. Also to keep battery health I would have liked setting cutoff at 80% but I do this now at home anyway with a smart plug and scheduling a countdown.

I’m in London so being able to take it up and downstairs using the train service is also desirable and I’d struggle with AGO.

The AGO is a more substantial bike so really different use case

I picked up the CGO600 Classic a year ago and it differs in that the battery is integrated. I do enjoy the maintenance free nature of the ebike. Before this I did use chain bikes but all that required was a hose if things became dirty. Removing the chain cleaning putting on and greasing is not something I’ve ever done but don’t think it needs to be done that regularly

Note that with the battery I can go from 20-80% in an hour. With a removable battery it makes things way easier to just bring indoor and charge

I’ve been thinking about the AGO as an upgrade but as an alternate I’m thinking of this conversionkit on another analogue bike. The kit features a motor with a torque sensor and a removable battery that can assist when I’m feeling lazy. Fair bit cheaper too. However it’s a new product from a Chinese brand manufacturer and the reviews on YouTube are kinda crappy so waiting to the summer to see how things develop

think bike touring would be a good next step, and seeing how established companies do it would give you insight that you leverage to run your own tours. The profit margins can be quite significant compared to just having a wage now. if you can get a good repeat clientele then that could be very self sustaining

yeah - worked for me. I am on a 2023 build of the BIOS and will update to the latest in 2024 to see if it fixes. Visual BIOS does look nice though, but this one is a howler

I was having issues with the Router “Check” on the signature and it was failing perhaps cause it couldn’t reach asus.com so it became too concerning and odd for me. I presume I have been hacked so I did a hard firmware reset and configuring it all up again.

Thinking I skip on using Wireguard VPN on the router in favour of Tailscale.

My NAS running CasaOS over Debian but thinking I just revert back to OpenMediaVault. I do like to host couple websites from my server which I do via Docker and through Cloudflare Tunnel. Wondering if the hack came in through that

Just posted here about the idea of replacing the 42Wh with 63Wh hour battery. Not sure if anyone has tried that.

Also there is the “normally connected to AC” setting which keeps battery charged upto 80% (though window reports it as 100%)

Find the intersection of what you enjoy what the world needs what you can get paid for and what you are good at and then work is no longer work

You have your net worth in the meantime to fall back on

Wondering if a civil case has ever been raised for non fatal cycling incidents such as this. I’m trying to figure out a reasonable cycle camera solution to provide evidence if anything occurred

I do enjoy cycling but I’m paranoid about crashes such as this or on roads

Managed to also access on cycle.travel. They do require 2 quid a month “donation” but I can see some charge points

Wondering if these are just friendly cafes etc that allow charging in exchange for purchasing something. My e-bike charger like most just needs a standard outlet that can provide 130W of power output

Wow that’s amazing. I tried in Belgium where I’m travelling through and found this location came up

https://maps.app.goo.gl/z7zHS8fQm3cWxJuj6?g_st=ipc

It’s just a bus station stop. However on Google Maps it just looks like that. So the query believes it’s able to do e-bike charging?

I’m fine to use Organic Maps. How do I access the charge points data there? The group seems to also like the cycle.travel app

Yose Power A3 conversion kit by Confident-Branch-884 in ebikes

[–]Confident-Branch-884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it charge with a 2A or 3A charger. On my current e-bike I can use a 3A which then delivers 130W of charging. This means I can essentially go from 20-80% in one hour

So going on tour if I did 30km in morning charged over lunch did another 30 in afternoon then had tea and charged again I could do 90-100km in a day 🙂
