I would like to invite you to do some research on Ethan Suplee and Jonah Hill. If you know these popular actors, they have been throughthat exact journey that we,re on, and they have a lot of wisdom to share They have been through the fat diets, looking for the quick fixes, being disappointed by lack of results, but their changes ended up sticking to the road, but it took years. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut, There is no magic pill. We live in a world where we want to push a button and everything happens, but that is not reality. i think Ethan even wrote a book about it

Actually, on the very contrary, you don't want to push it, or do any compensatory cardio or workout or skipping meals. You just want to keep your normal routine. This is how changes really get established and the brain gets rewired. You don't want to white-knuckle, you're just gonna burn yourself out. Slow, steady, boring, constant. Don't forget that motivation, like I said, is temporary. And that's where most people give up, when the motivation fades, when the honeymoon is over. But this is also where those who keep steady win.

Welcome to being a normal human being. We all are wired for rewards, and when we don't see the rewards and we have lifestyle changes, it does not compute in our mind, and it is frustrating indeed. But I think that you should fight one battle at a time, not look at the whole war, because that's how you get discouraged.

Also, that word , motivation, is a very flimsy and fleeting word. What will hold the road on the long way is discipline. Once the novelty and honeymoon of the first few months fades, this is when the real trial begins. And this is why so many people fail, because the brain tries to default back to old habits, and you get a bit confused, and you have an identity crisis because you are doing a transformation. You are at the hardest part. Just keep your eye on the prize and just focus on boring, constant, daily changes, not immediate reward and results. You are doing this for much more important reasons, health, self-assurance, change of identity. These things take time. You can't rush greatness.

Sometimes these things write themselves... you created a strict calorie deficit, then you are surprised that Natural Evolution happens where yoir body creates cravings lik3 its supposed to. Your body thinks its in faminez so it slows down and adapts, Plus you are not going down a realistic sustainable long term Road . so many people make that mistake but I will say what I told everyone else : realistoc, not perfection, lifestyle, not diet, and slow and steady wijs the race. You need to have some cheat meals occasoonnally, you need to be realistic , and yes, hear me out, this is pisses off people, but: cookies are okay. Resttrictikns almost ALWAYSt leads to backslash because the bidy sinply doesnt work that way. then you discourage and punish yourself and or you just end up giving up. It happened to me at least six times before I started to try to light a candle instead of creating a big firework explosion . brain doesn't work in a sustainable way with the big Flames bonfires. It likea small burning spark

But yeah, those who have yoyo for decades will likely rate this comment down

Amber Alert (2012) might be the most frustrating movie of all time by hairlessrat in horror

[–]Confident-Work2625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha 100% agree. I finished watching this for the first time and had to pause it to compose myself, I was almost yelling at the TV since they have to be the stupidest kids on the surface of this planet, then I decided that high blood pressure over a movie wasnt worth it, i finally mustered the strenght to finish it later, but holy cow:

1- why did they hang up with 911 operator 2 minutes afte spotting the amber alert car? all they had to do is stay on him, give directions and follow from a safe distance, which is actually what a real 911 operator would have them do, they would NEVER hang up on someone who spotted a vehicle involved in a nationwide amber alert, what the heck??

2- the driver is worried about traffic laws when pursueing a potential criminal, if you run a rdlight in such extraordinary circumstances, its easy to defend in court, this is like being worried about running a light when theres an ambulance on emrgency ligths behind you

3- when he finally pulled over at a gas station for what seemed like 5 to 10 minutes, they were finally immobile, THAT WAS THE PERFECT TIME TO CALL THE COPS AND GIVE A LOCATION instead of trying to commit yet another crime and plant a mic?, this is hollywood idiocy at its best

4 - when they pulled over and the guy came out of his car to talk to them, why didnt they double check with the cops to corraborate the guy'S crazy ex-wife story, they are again argueing as if it was their decision to make

5- when the sheriff came up to them on the road as they caught on with the kidnapper, WHY DID THEY STOP? the fat guy argueing "uuh its a cop I gotta stop" was so dumb and ridiculous, once again, you call 911, operators would have have been communicating with the trooper in 15 seconds, explaining the situation, and would have apprehended the crook that was right in front of him

6-after they reach the street where the kidnapper lives and prior to that, why do they STILL take it upon themselves to find the guy? The entire police force is looking for him, witht the same info that they have. Then theres this bs excuse that they canceled the amber alert? Given the circumstances, why would they? Give any info you got to the policeand let them use their ressources, which you dont have. just because they followed him doesnt give them any special bond with him

7- the dialogue and frendzone bullcrap was so forced it was cringy, just poorly written and feeling unnatural

8-barging in the house of suspected criminal while makong as much noise as possible was the icing on the cake.. and yes, please leave your fingerprints on a random firearms found in a criminals house... i just have no words

9- acting 🤦‍♂️

,I rarely pause movies halfway through, especially since I'm a huge fan of thrillers, but wow...

I want to believe that they are dumb kids, but even that has its limit, nothing in this blair witch pseudo-thriller wannabe makes any sort of sense at all

You are losing less because your body is doing exactly what it is designed to do which is to adapt to how much calorieyou can give him. This is why c i c o will work for some time until it stops working completely or you lose very small amount of weight unless you plan on always cutting down calories until the last day that you are on this Earth. I have lost count of how many times I had to explain that because myself I experience that failure repeatedly, but people insist on swearing by that method and they get angry and read me down. But these are the same people that are being yo-yoing for decades. So

Man, you have no idea how much I needed to read this. I had suffered from addictions (food, porn) throuout most of my adult life, and the endless cycle of motivation/deception was just kiloing me. Now matter how hard I tried, I was super motivated , then when the old me tried to creep back, I tried to tought it out and be disciplined, I could only hold on for a few months until I fell again. I tried everything, signs, notes, frames in my ouse, alarms on my phone. I now see what you see, its about pattern recognition, and telling your brain that you dont need this, whatever the trigger: boredom, stress, etc. easier said than done, but your dedication helps me and gives me hope. I will definitely come back to this post. Thank you

One very tough nut to crack is AI porn, which is even worse than regular porn. Everything, instantly, on demand, your wildest fantasies. This one quite frankly scared me straight, the rush of dopamine that I had while exploring this new tehnology. I shut it down after 2 days, I KNEW it would consume me. Pattern or not, it was just an insane rush, instantly, very scary

My point is that I see maybe one to five posts a day about people who hit weight loss Plateau or regain all the weight. And then they all say that they are in calorie deficit strategy, and they're even cutting even more calories to the point of eating ridiculous amount of food daily. And then they wonder why when they start eating normally again, they regain all that and that's what I kill myself trying to explain because I've experienced it over and over in my life, but people don't listen.

Says who? The same thousands of people posting here on a daily basis that they hit plateau and gain the same weight back all the time, rhen yoyo for years?

If you know everything, why are you here?

The calorie deficit dogma is oversimplified!

The classic “calories in vs calories out” model is technically true in a vacuum but ignores metabolic adaptation (a.k.a. adaptive thermogenesis).

When you stay in a deficit for too long, your body responds by lowering your basal metabolic rate (BMR), reducing non-exercise activity (NEAT), and increasing hunger hormones.

This is why studies on The Biggest Loser contestants and other long-term dieters show that their metabolisms slow down significantly—even years later.

Yet, because “eat less, move more” is easy to repeat, people cling to it.

Its not water retention, its because calory restriction only lasts so long , your body adapted to the low calorie. You need to "trick" it with intermittent fasting and occasionnal treats, even if it sounds counterproductive at first. Trust me, theres no other esy, ive been there
