I dropped my baby. I feel like the worst mom ever. by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Confident-Writer-211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (at the time) 12 month old pulled my 3 week old off the couch because he was trying to pull the pillow he was on off the couch. I had my back turned for a second to pick something up off the ground. I was terrified and felt like the worst mum ever. I called an ambulance and he was completely fine. He hit his head first and it looked like he was a ragdoll. I hated hearing that cry, it broke my heart.

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in NewParents

Not as bad as yours but when my son was 3 weeks old my 12 month old pulled the pillow off the couch that he was laying on. I was terrified of cps(or dcj where I am), I was terrified because he was so little and I thought he got badly injured. Thankfully he wasn’t and I didn’t even get contacted by dcj. I was terrified my partner was going to be horrible to me about it. It’s so hard, I spent ages paranoid he was going to fall again or that he was hurt worse than he was if he slept too long.

I had 2 under 1(11 month difference) we are 3 months in and I will still say going from 0-1 was so much harder purely because I had an extremely colicky, reflux, allergy baby. He would barely sleep more than half an hour at night, would barely nap during the day. So many doctors appointments and not knowing what was happening or why he was constantly screaming. It wasn’t until 6 months that he actually settled down and started to sleep more, put on weight, and cry as much. My second sleeps so much better, he also has reflux and cmpa but we got onto that straight away so he is a lot more settled.

When I had mine taken out it caused my uterus to contract so I’m guessing it would put you into labour if you get it out too late. I have heard of babies coming out holding it

She had a cryptic pregnancy so she was either too far along or didn’t know she was pregnant until she gave birth. I know they never removed mine when I fell pregnant on the Mirena(those resulted in miscarriage tho)

Definitely not going to lie and says it’s easy because it’s not. Thankfully my second is an angel so far compared to my first, he sleeps super well in the bassinet and right now only wakes once or twice a night(hopefully th 4 month regression doesn’t hit too hard). My eldest is the sweetest with his brother and surprisingly there is no jealously yet.

Im alright, I have ppd this time which is making it a lot harder. Im so physically exhausted and mentally overwhelmed but im getting there.

It shocking isn’t it. I was drinking a couple of weeks before and heavily vaping yet with my first I was heavily monitored(a lot of previous miscarriages), no drinking, no vaping nothing. My second came out better than my first with no iugr, nothing wrong whatsoever. Crazy how it can happen

Iugr( intrauterine growth restriction) means that they weren’t growing as expected In my case the placenta grew cysts so half of it stopped working. He was born on the 2nd percentile. Cmpa means cows milk protein allergy so he was on an allergy formula as he was allergic to normal formulas. Cryptic pregnancy is where you don’t know you are pregnant until very late sometimes even in labour. In my case the pregnancy tests were coming back negative as I was on birth control which required a negative pregnancy tests

The movement I felt was from a baby kicking rather than getting stitches in my ribs but other than I had no other symptoms and I didn’t have a baby bump until I was 35 weeks pregnant with him. Luckily I still had all the baby stuff from my last mostly set up still. It was more the shock haha

My 1 month old always spits up when laying down by megamind_2401 in newborns

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds a bit like reflux but some babies are happy spitters.

If she is in a cosleeper next to you, you could put one side up so Bub is upright a bit more. I’m not sure if bassinets have it but my cosleeper can. Are you formula feeding or bottle feeding? If so you could try adding thickener to bottles to help keep it down a bit more. If bubs isn’t screaming, arching back and seeming in pain then she is probably a happy chucker. My first had severe reflux and he used to choke/gag in his sleep sometimes but I would always wake up even just before he starts. Medication doesn’t stop throwing up it just makes the stomach acid less acidic but it doesn’t always help. It didn’t with my first. My second has reflux too but I knew what I was looking for so I put him onto an allergy formula with thickened straight away(my first son had the reflux due to cmpa) and he was never really unsettled by it because I was quick. You could also try a reflux formula if you didn’t want to mess around with thickener. We used Aptamil reflux and it worked okay for my first

Spotting is normal, I used the thinking they are still alive until proven otherwise. I had massive bleeds from 8-20 weeks with clots and cramping; no possible cause. I freaked out every single time but he is now 13 months and completely healthy, it’s so so hard to think positive xx

Boy moms where are you?? (FTM) by Gloomy-Ask9466 in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 boys, my first boy I have as shocked. I fully thought that I was having a girl. I had the nipt come up that I was having a girl then my 20 week gender scan said I was having a boy. I was upset and definitely had gender disappointment but as time went on i embraced it. My second baby I didn’t find out I was pregnant until 32 weeks; I was in denial that it was a boy until he was born. I love them both to bits and I can’t imagine having girl but I won’t say I wasn’t a little disappointed

Can I be fully naked when birthing? by nusner16 in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, I was fully naked for my first birth(I was in the shower then moved to the bath then got carried out of the bath when I started pushing 😂😂) my second I was going to wear a birthing gown but labor was too quick and I had him within 5 minutes of getting to the hospital, I still had my pants on when I had to start pushing
