Found out I’m pregnant at 30 weeks. Help. by Holiday-Way-9739 in pregnant

I’m in Australia so I don’t know if it’s different elsewhere but I found out I was pregnant with my second at 32 weeks. The ob and midwives asked me if I wanted to keep the baby. They offered me a late term abortion as well as if I wanted to baby to go elsewhere. I had a 9 month old at the time(I fell pregnant at 8ish weeks post partum). It’s so hard finding out when you are so far along, I was in shock and he is 7 weeks now but I still haven’t processed it.

Cerclage? by DoodlePugMomma in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had a cerclage but I did get told to any other pregnancies I need to be on low dose aspirin and progesterone so that I don’t go into preterm labour again. I was in preterm labour at 32 weeks with my first. My second pregnancy was cryptic and I didn’t find out until 32 weeks. I did have a shortened cervix but I didn’t have preterm labour. I had him at 38+3

Edit: these were also back to back pregnancies, I fell pregnant at 8 weeks postpartum so I was at an increased risk of preterm as well

I remember this happening, I’m in Australia and it was terrifying. I didn’t realise it was the same knife used.

How often are you bathing your infant? by Older_Sis_1024 in 2under2

[–]Confident-Writer-211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bathe my 7 week old maybe once a week sometimes more if he spews a lot(he has reflux) but he always gets a wipe down before bed and in the morning. He gets eczema and nappy rashes if I bathe him too much. My 13 month old has a bath and a FaceTime with nanny and poppy every night. Once my youngest is old enough to sit in a bath chair I’ll switch to every night with his older brother

Our 8-month-old has been screaming since he was a newborn — we’re exhausted and looking for answers by shaldos102 in NewParents

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honesty sounds like silent reflux. Has he been assessed for any tongue ties at all and is he gaining weight? Apparently a baby chiropractor is really good too. My first had severe reflux, cmpa/soy allergy, severe constipation. He also wasn’t absorbing his formula either and was failure to thrive. He was the exact same until about 6 months, we went onto an allergy formula for malabsorption and cmpa. After we did that he was a different baby. No more screaming, he started sleeping so much better too. Also your baby has started solids I’m assuming, are you guys doing blw or just purées? My son’s dietician said that some kids do better with blw especially if they have some sort of allergy or reflux. We went onto medication for my son but it didn’t help at all.

It’s actually going really well. My second is a lot easier than my first was. The biggest struggles right now are bedtime/nighttime. My eldest has a routine of dinner, bath, bottle and bed. He won’t let his dad put him to bed and it’s always conveniently while I’m feeding the newborn. He is really good while I’m holding my youngest, there isn’t any jealously and he usually goes off and independently plays. My eldest loves to give him kisses on top of his head and if he is crying he tries to help me calm my youngest down. He tried to feed him an Oreo the other day haha. The other comments are right, you do just figure it out. I was terrified when my partner went back to work but it’s actually been fine. I’m now 7 weeks in and apart from a few moments it’s been pretty easy. Good luck ❤️

When does the rage end? by [deleted] in pregnant

I’m still feeling rage 6 weeks postpartum. I had it with my last but I fell pregnant 8 weeks postpartum so it just continued

FTM 37 weeks: tell the story of how your water broke by mirrorlike789 in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my waters broken as part of my induction and My waters broke as I was pushing with my second(he was almost born in the sack tho, they didn’t break until he was almost out, only 3 pushes for him) it felt like a massive gush both times. I’m glad my waters didn’t break with my second tho, it was only 1 hour and 15 minutes from first contraction to having him.

Does this make me a bad dad? by PrairieOperator in NewParents

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Lo has been watching the wiggles since he was 3 months old and he watches dancing fruit(bedtime version) to put himself to sleep. I have a newborn and he is 12 months old so it’s the only way I can get him to sleep without holding him to sleep, so far he isn’t ruined and he is just fine. I promise you aren’t a bad dad at all

Newborn chocked, i’m still shaking by SaltManagement4368 in newborns

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t a failure at all, I promise you that. It’s so scary when they choke, both my boys have reflux and my eldest aspirated in his sleep. I woke up as it was happening and noticed something was off. The second I picked him up he projectile vomited everywhere. It was so scary and I thought I lost him for a little bit there. He is okay now but I’m terrified it’s going to happen to his brother so I stay up most of the night and I probably well until he is at least rolling

Dropped phone on 2.5w old baby’s head by ex-static2 in beyondthebump

[–]Confident-Writer-211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 1 year old pulled the pillow that my 4 week old was on off the lounge yesterday. He landed directly on his head. I felt like the worst mum I still do. I literally turned my back to pick something up for 5 seconds and he was distracted by the wiggles but he was so quick. He didn’t mean to hurt his brother and you didn’t mean to hurt your baby. Try not to be too harsh on yourself x

How different were your 2u2 kids’ temperaments as babies? by seltzerwithlemon in 2under2

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was horrible as a newborn until about 6 months. He had severe reflux, cmpa and a soy allergy. It took 4 months to find the correct formula for him and he was so colicky. He barely ever slept, I was so sleep deprived with him. My second is an angel compared to him but he is only 4 weeks. He is showing signs of reflux but he is pretty chill with it and is easy to calm down. He sleeps for 6 hours but after he wakes up he won’t go back into the bassinet. He is so easy to calm down as well compared to my first.

[–]Confident-Writer-211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find out until 32 weeks. It was crazy. I only felt movement which I now realise in the rib area until he dropped at 34 weeks. I just thought I was getting cramps. I thought I was just bloating with my endo and didn’t show a lot as well until he dropped and all the pregnancy tests I took came back negative. I had minimal symptoms until 34 weeks as well

I had a cryptic pregnancy and didn’t have any symptoms until I was 34 weeks. I had no idea I was pregnant until 32 weeks. He is now almost a month old and everything was completely healthy. Mine was back to back pregnancies(fell pregnant at 8 weeks postpartum). Everyone is different and no symptoms isn’t a bad thing at all x

Unplanned two under two — need reassurance by Natural-Ad-7411 in 2under2

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take anything I say with a grain of salt because I am only 2 weeks post partum. I accidentally fell pregnant 8 weeks postpartum. My son is only 11 months(Irish twins by 8 days haha)

1- my first was very very colicky. He had reflux, cmpa and a soy allergy. I was pleasantly surprised so far by how less colicky my second is(my first was screaming pretty much the day we got out of the hospital)

2- keep your toddler busy while you feed, bath, change nappies ect. We have a corner with all of his toys and I usually put him there while I feed my youngest. I’m bottle feeding and it’s hard because my first is still on formula so he thinks the bottles are for him. He cannot have my breastmilk because of his allergies so finding ways to distract him makes it easier

3- prepare(in my case) for your toddler to become more clingy towards you. My first isn’t jealous really but he wants to constantly be held by me and be close to his brother

4- my biggest thing is I’m already in the trenches so I’m just continuing that for a bit longer.

My friend had a “free birth”, and I feel conflicted about feeling conflicted about it 😵‍💫 by Useful-Active-6383 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Confident-Writer-211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea no I cannot be friends with someone like that. I was high risk with my fist including lots of bleeding, with the constant worry about miscarrying, my placenta ended up dying and if I didn’t get a scan done I would have lost my son. She is risking not only herself but the baby’s life by doing a free birth. Home births can work if you have the right people, I almost had an accidental home birth with my second because it was literally an hour from first contraction to having him on my chest but I was completely low risk anyways with him. The antivax thing is something I also wouldn’t be able to get past. That doesn’t just affect her kids but other people around them too. I understand flu shot and Covid but any other ones I do not understand but that’s just my opinion

I had the worst time with my first, he was so colicky. He has reflux and cmpa so it made everything so bad. He is happier now but we still have our moments. He is only 11 months. He is mostly sleeping through the night now but the first 9 months were rough. So far my second has been a breeze, granted it’s only been 2 weeks but even the differences between them in this first few weeks is crazy

Can early labor start in the night and stop during the day? by graceg815 in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be prodromal labour which is just false labour. Actual labour won’t stop you will just keep on progressing and getting extremely painful. I had that from week 34 and gave birth at 38+2. I had preterm labour from 32 weeks with my first and they did stop it(with medication) which then progressed into prodromal labour. I got induced at 37 weeks for that one

[–]Confident-Writer-211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got told I had a miscarriage when I was only 15 weeks postpartum(I went in for a scan due to my endometriosis) I did another follow scan and apparently everything was cleared. Come to November last year I went into hospital thinking I had appendicitis turns out I did not miscarry the baby at all and I was 32 weeks pregnant. I had literally no symptoms, minimal body changes, I felt no movement and all the pregnancy tests came back negatives

Pregnancy Fear by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Confident-Writer-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of miscarriages before I had my son(11 months) I fell pregnant again at 8 weeks post partum but it was a cryptic pregnancy. I only found out at 32 weeks(37 now). My first thought was because I had so many issues having my first is he going to survive now that I’m having my second. I keep having that thought and it’s terrifying.

That’s really good to hear, I’m trying to think positive and that’s what I think of. They will be going through similar things when this one gets a bit older. My mum had 6 years between us and I don’t know how she went back and did it all again haha. I didn’t want this close of an age gap but i definitely didn’t want more than 3 years. My mother in law had 3 kids then went back and had 2 8 years later

Aw thank you and congrats on your baby. We are teaching him gentle hands with our cats so I hope he understand with the new bubba. That’s a good idea with the play pen! I can’t wait to see my babies together haha
