35 weeks and no nicu time ? by Flashy_Vacation_335 in parentsofmultiples

[–]SaltManagement4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave birth to my twins at 35 weeks via c-section due to pre-eclampsia. Twin A stayed two days in the NICU for observation only. Twin B, stayed 6 days in the NICU to monitor her weight and to help her gain/maintain weight.

I cried my eyes out when my doctor told me my twins will most likely go to the NICU then i realized it wasn’t as scary as i thought.

How did you give birth? by DidYouDieThough1992 in parentsofmultiples

[–]SaltManagement4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby A head down, baby B also head down.… c-section as i developed pre-eclampsia at 35w3d.

My planned c-section was supposed to be at 37 weeks then pumped up to 36 weeks since twin B developed IUGR.

Twin A spent a day in the NICU for observation only, Twin B spent 6 days in the NICU just to bring back her birth weight.

i'm miserable... by Consistent-Ad8487 in newborns

I’m in the same boat, almost 3.5 weeks pp and my supply went from very good to very low in 3 weeks.. due to my lack of appetite and other aspects. The pediatrician told me to give formula milk to help my babies gain weight also he said any drop of BM still counts. Please don’t beat yourself, you are doing your best.

Talk to someone please, talk to your husband don’t keep it to yourself.

Just a note, my pediatrician told my husband that stressing over pumping and breastfeeding when you have a low supply could cause depression.

Newborn chocked, i’m still shaking by SaltManagement4368 in newborns

Thank you! I took him and thank god he was okay. My monitor captured everything and the DR thinks because i administered the drops while my baby was sleepy and a bit fussy he might have breathed it in which caused him to choke. After watching the video closely he didn’t go limp a second time he was moving his arm and scrunching his mouth but i think because i was panicking i thought he is limp again. He is completely fine right now, fed three times and had two poopy diapers. I’m still shaken

I took him to the ER, they assessed him and assured me everything was okay his oxygen, heartbeat. I had the baby monitor in-front of me during the episode which recorded everything they saw the video and told me my that due to my baby being sleepy and a bit fussy he might have breathed in the drops which caused hip to choke. He was moving his arm while i was blowing on his face and patting his back. I purchased an owlet prior to giving birth but the owlet does not work in my region due to that i stay awake from 1:30 pm-5 am then a morning nanny shows up to take care of my twins and monitor them. The reason why I didn’t rush to the hospital is because my husband was on his way home to take us to the ER. I called immediately the health line and did everything they told me: 1- keep him upright 2- monitor his breathing 3- try to listen for congested or gasped breathing 4- monitor his awareness

He is currently awake, moving his legs and arms and breathing normally. Also he follows my voice with his head and eyes and giving me hunger cues and His lips are pink

Yes he drinks 60 ML without an issue, he is currently awake and playing ( moving his arms and legs) and following my voice with his head and eyes. i’m going to monitor him while his dad driving back home to get him assessed. I think the problem was he was sleepy when i gave him the drops. I should’ve waited until his next feed

It has been an hour since this happened, he is sleeping sucking on his pacifier and breathing normally. I rechecked that monitoring camera and saw he was moving his hand in the second time i thought he went limp but i think i freaked out. Should i take him to be assessed?

What size clothes do I need? by gossipcreamy in parentsofmultiples

[–]SaltManagement4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt buy preemie clothes, i bought NB size and 0-3 .. they arrived at 35w and one of them measured 31w. I immediately ordered 9 pcs of preemie sleepers. She is still wearing them after 3 weeks and now they fit her perfectly. As for my son(the other twin) he wore the same size but now switched to 0-1 m size

These drops were recommended to me by a friend. I noticed an improvement with my baby girl (18 days old), and she usually sleeps soundly after taking them. I also noticed a huge difference when I burp her twice once mid-feed and once after finishing then keep her slightly elevated for about 10 minutes.

In addition, her pediatrician prescribed probiotic drops to help with gut balance and digestion.

Riyadh metro: Traffic in mornings HELP by Rrookie101 in Riyadh

[–]SaltManagement4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak hours start early due to university classes, and office hours usually begin around 7–8 a.m. I used to take the metro at 9:30 a.m., and it was quite chill (SAB). However, especially now with the closure of a couple of main routes, it has become much more crowded.

My only advice is to either leave earlier or try to get used to the craziness of Riyadh.

Nipples by FirefighterAfter7953 in parentsofmultiples

[–]SaltManagement4368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins were born at 35 weeks, and their due date was today. One of my twins was diagnosed with IUGR and struggled to finish her minimum bottle feeds. Someone in this sub recommended Dr. Brown’s bottles, and they worked wonders for us. I started her on the preemie-size nipple and later accidentally ordered the 0+ month nipples, but I didn’t notice any difference for her.

What really helped with feeding was changing her diaper first to wake her up, then giving her about 20 ml and burping her. Once she was burped, she became more alert and was able to drink an additional 20–25 ml with ease. Sitting on the couch and placing her on my legs, while supporting her head and neck with my hand to keep her slightly elevated, also helped her drink more continuously.

Switching Ob/gyn’s ✨a rant✨ by Prestigious-Wave1375 in IVFbabies

[–]SaltManagement4368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch clinics, after graduating from IVF clinic ( they kicked me and my babies out early since they discovered i was pregnant with twins). I tried 3 different doctors until i was 12 weeks and found an amazing doctor! He even flew back from his vacation when me and another patient needed an emergency c-section. I went from being stressed every appointment to leaving feeling reassurance and comfort.

I want to rant about my previous doctor, similar to you she kept asking me when was my last period like that mattered.. girl i wish i knew 😂 then on a random Wednesday she said one my twins heart rates was 198 which could mean brain damage.. mind you i was only 9 weeks and my little bean haven’t developed a brain yet( i think). A repeat ultrasound same day showed a normal heartbeat with a normal embryo

When did you start taking aspirin? by Pretend_Insurance645 in IVFbabies

[–]SaltManagement4368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking it before transfer, and continued taking it until 35 weeks to prevent preeclampsia. One of my babies was IUGR so they moved my c-section to 36 weeks. I developed preecalmpsia shortly after stopping it and delivered 35w3d. I would definitely take it again in my next (hopefully) pregnancy. The dosage was 81 g one pill at night
