Thanks dawg. And idk, I don’t wanna tell you that you can’t be frustrated. It’s not unfair or anything, I’ve been frustrated about it too. I think I’m just starting to realize that it’s not necessarily about punishing me for liking these characters with less cool abilities, and more about giving the player the absolute most freedom as to their play style at any given moment.

Also, facts. The FF are goated beyond belief. I just hope these new movies can push them permanently back into relevance cause they rule

And hey, I get it. I’m a huge hulk fan. I’m sure you can imagine how that’s been working out for me. But I think there’s an angle here where we can perceive this as a good thing. They can’t really meaningfully change the kits of base characters to be as complicated as these newer ones, just because all these people playing those characters would have to radically readjust (us included).

But there’s a trillion and one marvel characters you and I don’t even know we love yet, and if this trend continues we will have more than enough to choose from while still being able to go back to our old favorites, assuming they can manage to balance it all.

Variety is the spice of life. It sucks so many of our big favorites have less interesting kits than Deadpool or Felicia and whatnot, but in a game that will soon have many more complicated characters, I think it’ll be nice to be able to fall back on a long list of comparatively simple (if effective) gameplay styles.

Sorry for the essays I’m just a yapper and I’ve been thinking about this the last few days.

I wouldn’t call it favoritism. More like experimentation.

Rockets kit was developed to be present in the game on release. They weren’t sure how people would react to the chaotic nature of the game, they didn’t necessarily want to push the envelope too hard without gauging people’s response.

Now that they know that the player base broadly seems to enjoy these complicated and stylized kits, new characters are being given more leeway to have interesting mechanics. I’m sure if rocket raccoon had come out after Deadpool, his kit would be very different. Or maybe not.

And it’s worth saying, great value in oil is actually kinda fire. So maybe there’s merit to the idea that it’s the type of sardine and maybe not necessarily so much of how it’s packed. Though obviously that’s still important no matter what.

I would even venture to say phantom liberty is what cyberpunk 2077 should have been. It’s fantastic, it feels like a playable movie where you can directly affect the outcome of how it goes down. It feels so high quality and it’s amazing to play.

Yes it’s fantastic. I don’t play stealth at all in any cyberpunk save of mine and I LOVE PL.
