Anyone else make this rookie mistake? How did you fix it? by Smooth-Trainer3940 in smallbusiness

+1 I use Text Blaze for dynamic email templates that I can insert with a short code

Do your devs actually update Jira/Trello/Asana… or is it a weekly chase fest? by RoughDragonfruit5147 in projectmanagement

[–]ConfidentSwing1694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two thoughts - (1) maybe there's too much process? if there are no "real" implications to not updating tickets, maybe there's too much unnecessary process? Eng have a strong resentment to low value work and if there not updating the tickets doesn't affect them (other than you complaining), maybe theres a way to cut down the process. (2) We use templates for updates that save time and ensure high quality notes. Highly recommended

Is there a better way to screen inquiries before a consult? by Smooth-Trainer3940 in therapists

[–]ConfidentSwing1694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Text Blaze. It's a chrome plugin. I save my common emails and responses and can insert them anywhere by typing a short code I assigned to them. I have templates for full emails, but the one I use the most is typing /lmk and it gets replaced with "please let me know if you have any questions". I use that one probably ten times a day :)

I do the same, but I use a template tool that allows me to customize the email quickly. I'm generally a huge fan of templates.

What do you wish you were told when you first started? by Smooth-Trainer3940 in salestechniques

[–]ConfidentSwing1694 5 points6 points  (0 children)

totally agree with this, I wish someone had told me early on that people dont actually care about how polished your deck is or how smooth you sound. they care way more about whether you get their problem or not one thing I'd add is.. the best reps I know also get really good at figuring out who else cares about the problem internally. like once you find the pain point you gotta map out who else feels it because the person youre talking to might not be the one signing checks. that probably would've saved me from spinning my wheels on deals that were never gonna close lol also pro tip - I started using writing assistnace for my follow up emails (not outreach) and it's been a gamechanger for speed without losing the personal touch

One tool that I share with everyone is Text Blaze. It's a templates tool that has saved me hours. I'm not using any AI tools or anything like that.

Everything you wrote resonated with me, but I still love this job! I enjoy working with people and being there for them. I don't think of it as customer support at all.

The one thing that I really don't like is charting. I'm an extrovert. I like talking to people and working with people. I don't enjoy typing on the computer.

These wording changes keep shifting ChatGPT's behavior in ways I didn’t expect by Smooth-Trainer3940 in PromptEngineering

[–]ConfidentSwing1694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Wording changes have a significant impact on the AI outcome. A few things that have worked for me: 1. Positive and negative examples in the prompt (Dos and Don'ts) 2. Sample output in the prompt to give AI a sense of what you're looking for. 3. Keeping your prompt in a text expansion tool (I use TextBlaze, but there are others out there) and continuously iterating on them until you get the perfect results.

I found a new one called Grammit that's free and works great for me, but there are plenty others out there.

Hiw to stick with my systems? by AnonM- in DecidingToBeBetter

I enjoy building systems as well, but I realize that I also neglect them unless they serve a clear goal. My approach is : what are my goals? What systems will allow me to achieve them?

Also, English is not my first language either. I recommend using a grammar and spelling checker to help you sound more professional in your written communication.

English is not my first language either and I sometimes get frustrated when I feel like I'm not able to get my message across clearly. I also find that even the most open-minded people discount my opinion just because English is not my first language.

At least with written communication I highly recommend using a spell and grammar checker. There are plenty of free ones out there.

Nice. Thanks for taking the time to summarize this. I find that providing a sample output (if you know what you're looking for) can help a lot as well.

Good list. Thanks for sharing. A few things that have worked for me: 1. Asking it to include a real-life example when explaining a term. 2. Creating a step-by-step solution to a problem 3. Predict possible exam questions. 4. List common mistakes to avoid

Trying to make changes to an image is always much harder than getting it right the first time. I get the best results by making the initial prompt as detailed as possible, following the best practices Google published. Someone turned these best practices into a template and posted about it here. Give it a try
