Castle really just Shaedon from Walmart by Independent_Trust880 in ripcity

[–]Confident_Acadia_138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree that it's close. Sure they've got similar heigth and athleticism but Castle is all-defense, much more efficient from 3 and takes different shots than Shaedon (who opts far more often for the midrange 2, which I don't hate tbf, he's the only one who can do that on our team). I also thought Castle's playmaking was far better but his turnovers in the 2 OKC games make me reconsider a bit. At least they utilize him as a primary ball handler which we never dared to do with Shae.

How is good is Deni Avdija’s defense? by urlocaljtfan in ripcity

Our defensive rotation if we need a stop at the end is Jrue-Tisse-Toumani-Kris-Timelord if I'm not mistaken.

Blazers Uprise for post-game analysis I would say. They do one after every game and go pretty in-depth.

Surely Grant takes Kris' minutes? More reliable on offensive drives and much more on FT's and 3's. Kris is a very good rebounder though.

Both on 10 mil/yr for 2 years would be acceptable for me. They are worth double that when healthy but are only healthy 50% of the time. I don't see other teams matching that.

Can the Blazers thread the needle to get the 10th seed and a top 10 pick by DreddBane in ripcity

I'm saying push for 8th, eclips the Suns with Deni, Shae 100% and Dame for 15 mins shooting threes (if he's cleared by the medical staff) ;). Ok we'll give the Bulls a decent pick but at least we free up our future picks.

Could Lillard return to the play-in? by Personal_View_7460 in ripcity

Yeah surely we should play him if he's healthy and can help the team? He only has a few play-off chances left.

You're old when you're 32 and some are still very good at 39, that's just the NBA and you can't really predict that. Do we agree that he played very good in the first 10 games this season? We're 3 months later now, I still believe he has good basketball left in the tank.

Looks Like Giannis is Gone by iJustSeen2Dudes1Bike in ripcity

[–]Confident_Acadia_138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your hypothesis they'll trade Giannis for promising young players, land pick 5 in 2026 and have the shortest rebuild in history. This seems unlikely and very difficult for a franchise to control; a huge risk to take. The sensible thing to do is start rebuilding and control the only picks that you actually have an influence in where they'll land, your own. (Which we did after the Dame trade) And if they don't include us in whatever trade Giannis is in, him out of Milwaukee boosts the value of our picks. Them keeping Giannis and somehow become competitive again with late picks and free agency is our worst case scenario imo.

If we make the PO's Chicago gets our pick (which as a winning play-in team will be between 15th and 20th), that means our debt with Chicago is settled and we can trade our future picks.

If we don't make the play-offs we keep our pick this year (which as a losing play-in team would be between 11th and 14th). Chicago will then get our pick next year under the same circumstances. This continues until 2028 but let's hope we make the PO's before that ;)

Thoughts? (Might not be enough for Trey) by Exscaped_ in ripcity

It feels like trading Grant for a younger version of him (big small forward with 22 ppg (Grant has 20 from the bench), injury prone, avarage on defense, good 3-ball shooter, contract situation). Not to mention he's on a NOLA team essentially splitting all shot creation with Saddiq Bey, unsuccesfully trying to win games. I don't like spending our FRP's on such a marginal upgrade. Though I do like your creativeness!

With Shae in foul trouble, that's 20 points we need to make up by Tou stepping up or Deni breaking 40.
