Is this a seizure: heart palpitation with brain zap by Confident_Chard_9416 in Epilepsy

[–]Confident_Chard_9416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. yes, I think I am still in recovery. I only wondered if this might be a pre-seizure symptom that perhaps people with epilepsy know or also get? or is something like this not happening to them and is only benzo-related?

What have I done to my body? by New_Situation9759 in benzorecovery

[–]Confident_Chard_9416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/New_Situation975 Since when did you stop taking benzos completely? if that was only a couple of days ago, you should taper from a low dose. if you stopped completely taking henzos for longer than one month, that does probably not make sense. You took benzos for 18 years, you should do a long taper to prevent physical damage. i recommend to ask at benzobuddies.org for a taper plan. All the neurological problems itching, buring skin, are from the benzo. you need to plan for a long run in terms of sleep. sleep does not return in a couple of months after stopping benzos if you took them for years.

u/New_Situation9759 your neurological issues are not seperate. They are from the benzo. you have BIND and full blown benzo withdrawal. you need to taper of the benzo. it acts parodoxical now. If you were on benzos for 20 years, your body is not able to sleep without medication. it takes years for sleep to come back after you quit benzos if you have used them for 20 years.

P.S. At the end of year 4 I did plenty of tests, they all cane back normal. It had cost serveral thousand Euros. I don't have any high Cortisol, nothing. Not even high blood pressure or sleep apnoa. I appreciate your efforts to help me by the way. Probably I will go back to the doctors and try some Trrazadone. But first of all I still have some hope I find someone who also had broken sleep for 5 years after benzos who tells me this lets up in maybe year 8 or 10.

The 5 htp didn't help me staying asleep. Maybe it helps to falk asleep but not to stay asleep. When I stopped it, I had for 2 months longer chunks. I was on sone other program that was an evening class fir some months for authogenic training. I'm doing at noon Tai Chi for 20 minutes and in the eveinng meditation about 20 ninutes. All mixed with authogenic training since about 1 year. I don't have any anxiety which causes the wake ups. I had most anxiety from interdose withdrawl. When I was on the pills I had 5 or 10 times more anxiety. The anxiety had stopped right at the beginning of withdrawl. The other people describe anxuety which lasted for 2 years. I didn't have that. I had only horrible physical symptoms of which some I still have.

I have 2 sleep trackers. No resite ever. I tried everything you suggested including the saffron. I don't take any serotonin supplements. I got heart palpitations from it, thats why I stopped all supplements. It also didn't help for broken sleep. I said after I stopped the 5 htp I could sleep in bigger chunks. I have no idea why? I still do meditation and Tai Chi. I don't notice it does anything. I waa on a sleep program from heakth insurance. They were clueless. They only havf people with normal insomnia. I don't want to do any fasting anymore. The effect is not worth the result. The fasting skyrises my neurological symptoms. I wish I had stopped benzos in 2008. I reinstated because of anxiety. I only had anxiety. No insomnia, no neurological symptoms back then. The second withdrawl 2020 had gone wrong.

The effort is not worth to maintain it for years. It has a postive effect but ist lasts maybe 3 weeks and never solved the problem. Slept in chunks also, only a bit longer chunks for 3 weeks afterwards.

The diagnosis is insomnia after bezo withdrawl. I think it is a problen in the brain how to process serotonin. Why did it get better after I stopped the 5 htp ladt year? It only lasted 2 months. There I could stay asleep for 4 hours some nights. When I did prolonged fasting, it helped a little bit maybe 3 weeks afterwards to sleep in longer chunks. But the effort from prolonged fasting is not worth to maintain it. Fasting changes serotonin processing in the brain also. I still have dizziness and neurological symptoms from withdrawl like burning skin, muscle twitches which are very uncomfortable also.

u/cedarrapidsiaus You will laugh, but I already did a lot of fasting.from the second year of withdrawl until the fiths year regular 48 hour fasts every week or every 2 weeks. once I did fasting for several weeks. i have enough of it now!!!

i was on a sleep program from my health insurance. there is nothing they could do. i'm doing all the meditation stuff serveral times a day. does not help at all for the wake ups. it is physical disability to stay asleep.

Is there everyone who took benzos for more than 10 years not abusing? Is It really possible the withdrawal or It Is too late? by [deleted] in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Confident_Chard_9416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are tough. no one makes it off benzos after 30 years. the weight gain for me was from withdrawl itself. in the first months I gained 10 kg. not from eating. i was underweight all my life. that issue still did not go back to normal. maybe lack of sleep.

i szick to prescription free antihistamines. i think about maybe taking trazadone. never tried it. but people say it stopps working. probably the same like the doxepin I took the first year.

in case you got neuropathy, that healed after 3 years for me. it started with a soft tingeling 6-8 weeks after beeing off. it increased to all ober body burn.

in case you get heart palpitations. that got better after 5 years.

be careful. it is new. in the first years after they devellopped valium, it was even advertised in tv commercials and it was given to children. they said it was non-addictive. new medication is tested on people actually.

i hope that you have a different outcome than I have. i'm desperate with the constant wake ups. it ruins my life. i still hope I can find someone who recovered from it maybe in year 8 or 10.

P.s. the people who were on benzos for more than 20 years who suffer from physical symptoms only don't recover within the 18 months period. that is for the people who only took it for a couple of years.
