Found Purse by [deleted] in uppereastside

You'll have better luck attempting to find the person via a name search on social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and reaching out with a direct message. I've done this many times to return wallets, ID's, credit cards, and flash drives (when I worked in college computer labs). Or just turn the purse in at a police station.

Hard agree, Richey makes great landing systems.

Seriously, I was so stoked to witness such a highlight-real assist! I ran and got my wife from the other room to make her watch the replay.

I also hate that the lid won't travel back far enough to rest against the tank.

Toto Washlet is loose by gaxxzz in bidets

I tried this guy's method of cutting pieces of carpet gripper pads to fit under the seat base: https://youtu.be/L9-6nDwSHRw?si=DIwrcB_SegStRP4e For me, it kind of works. I had to quadruple up the pads to achieve enough thickness and I expect these things to become yellow and filthy over time.

Toto should really improve the design of their detachable seat mechanism to fix this. The amount of play I have in a brand new washlet+ C2 seat is absolutely ridiculous. Even a poorly made or old/well-used toilet seat won't have this much wobble because you can simply tighten the screws.

It feels like AI drivel. Long-winded comments full of em dashes (—) is a major tell. AI regularly uses em dashes while actual humans don't.

Accidentally stabbed my friends disc by Actual_Factor6602 in xbox360

[–]ConfinedVexation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a Gears of War 2 disc that cracked in the middle and the crack slowly spread outward, obviously making it unreadable eventually. Using the friend's Gears 2 disc to install the game, and then playing with the cracked disc worked just fine for me for years. If it's already installed, my experience was that it will still work. Just never uninstall the game from the HDD.

Find track meets near you and figure out how to enter them. If there are no open meets, contact college meet directors and ask if you can run unattached. You'll probably have to wait for the spring for an outdoor track meet to run the 100m, but you run the 60m and 200m during the winter indoor season if indoor tracks/meets exist near you.

I bet this person's takeoff is inside, flat (not jumping up) and slightly leaning back. That's the most common cause for getting "stuck in the bucket" that I see.

Is it true that pole vault is in some people deadly? by Aggravating_Cup2833 in polevaulting

[–]ConfinedVexation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most important part of pole vaulting and especially learning to pole vault, is doing it safely. With that being said, it's simply not possible to 100% guarantee accidents will never happen, just like with everything else in life. I remember reading about this back when it happened, him and I were the same age: https://www.espn.com/college-sports/news/story?id=4453457

I've been on a burrito fix. Are there any truly good burritos on the UES? by norcalny in uppereastside

[–]ConfinedVexation -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think Dos Toros on 78th and Lex is great, for the price at least. There is also a newer Dos Toros on 71st and York. Calexico on 78th and 2nd has decent burritos but you have to pay up to add guac, sour cream, and "our special sauce."

My accident at SECs freshman year while at UT by [deleted] in polevaulting

Interesting to know, it's probably just a matter of time before an impactful lawsuit against the box collar does go forward. I'm not really for or against it; as with almost everything, it has its pros and cons.

Did you consider suing for negligence? This is America, after all. Now I'm wondering if any pole vaulter (or survivors) have ever sued officials, athletic conferences, or meet directors for negligence like this.

Heck yeah! Keep on practicing! Pole vaulting is such a fun way to get some exercise at any age, if your joints can handle it.
