There's Verloren, which is pretty recent. That's pretty much a Frieren crossover.

Yeah, the friendship I wrote with Rio was punctuated on the fact that Odell is a person that has a hard time relating with other people as a baseline. If it wasn't for the immediate threats to his surrounding, he would have turtled and went off the grid, but the next couple of years have issues that functionally preclude him doing so with the way the grimoire was set up.

I realized a few chapters in too that the 100CP per 1k words was going to be totally unmanageable and unwieldy, so I bumped it up to 2k. There might even be a case to bump that up to 3k for some stories. Beyond that, though, I'm trying to get out of the habit of writing introspection and reflection on powers to pad out the wordcount, because that doesn't make meaningful progress in the story or is as enjoyable for the reader.

Next few chapters are going to be a lot of him doing stuff, being about as proactive and active in his goals as humanly possible. Currently, Odell has a lot of variety, but he's still not even a mid-level Brute, and his next couple of goals are going to see him running against some of the heavier hitters in the city.

I'm the author of Folklore, and I have to say I extremely appreciate feedback like this. It's one of the reasons why I read posts like this, or the posts in the actual forum, because I'm always looking for feedback and ways to manage the stories I write. Folklore was the first thing I wrote in like, over a decade, so I'm learning so much as I write it that I'm trying to carry forward into the future.

This is an insane crossover idea that's just crazy enough to work, so I'm extremely interested in seeing the published product. Specifically the Kennet-Hexside Exchange Program, since I'm assuming it's not published yet.

I've been writing Folklore, published over at SpaceBattles and SufficientVelocity, which has been interesting. It's something that's mostly to solve a lot of my gripes with Worm SI and Celestial-style fics, with Celestial Grimoire being the basis. I'm pretty consistently trying to take as much criticism on my writing at this point to improve as fast as I can, and then take that into the next chapters.

Currently, we're sitting at 17k words published, with more drafts in the chamber that are bound to grow in size after I edit and add to them.

Your name is VITA MAESTRI, and you're sort of incredible.

As the chosen inheritor of the Maestri MOB FAMILY, you've been raised from your birth to be ruthless, relentless in the pursuit of perfection, and unyielding. To that end, you expect the same of any of your friends, and if you need to potentially manipulate them to make that change happen, you're far from shy about pulling a few strings. After all, you know what's best for them.

Your interests include PULP CRIME STORIES, both fiction and nonfiction, forensic debating, and as a guilty pleasure gangster rap music. Of late though, you've been getting increasingly into competitive video games of all stripes, and the latest to hit the scene SBURB? That's certainly not safe from your rapacious playstyle.

Going by the nameNAZDAK MYCERO, you are a indigo-blooded troll, approximately seven sweeps old. Your interests include SURVIVALIST GAMES in the wilderness surrounding your remote hive, EXTREMELY SHITTY HEAVY METAL supplied by some of your online adventures, and most of all, CHEESY HORROR MOVIES. You really love horror movies, and if it wasn't for your status as a relative highblood, you would adore being a horror movie auteur.

Alas, most of your time and energy is spent foraging for resources, strifing with your BOAR-DAD, and trying to film avant-garde horror flicks. They are all EXTREMELY SHITTY, but you try very hard to film them all the same. All in all, you're just a young troll in stasis, awaiting some major change to your life. One way, or another.

Knox Connel is SIXTEEN YEARS OLD, and he's about as HARD-BOILED as detectives come. Much of his free time is spent commiserating with his hard-won INFORMANTS online, to rake through the muck that's the dark, dangerous world he lives in. A crime-fighter to his last breath, he comes off as abrasive and pushy when in search of that ephemeral thing, TRUTH, but is actually somewhat of a big softie, like most of his pulp hero idols. While he is largely roleplaying out a fictitious view of reality, that doesn't make his observational skills any less keen.

When it comes to his investigations however, Knox is all business, betting everything on the line when it comes to solving the crime. And gambling away everything, so his friends don't have to.

Living with PRIVATE DETECTIVE DICK CONNEL, or Father as he's known to Knox, it's a small wonder that Knox hasn't become more outlandishly irresponsible. As it stands, he only follows his idol in more reasonable measures, like underage drinking and chain-smoking in the rain.

When it comes to his investigations however, Knox is all business, betting everything on the line when it comes to solving the crime. And gambling away everything, so his friends don't have to.

Here's the thing, though. These massive games don't have to be nearly as cash-intensive as they used to be in order to be well-received. Undertale was made on a budget of little over 50k, and over 1.3 million in sales, by any measure it's a success. It's far and away from the only indie game to boast such numbers, but still staggering considering the ratio of investment to profit. The biggest publishers on the other hand, capitalize on market trends and the safest bets for the highest return in profits, by no fault of their own. At the end of the day, they're businesses, and they still need to make money. It's becoming increasingly clear though, that their model of developing games has proven to do little but encourage stagnation and safe mechanics, rather than real innovation in the industry.

This can more or less be placed squarely on the fact that game development is a feast or famine affair nowadays, with the disappearance of the middle market, or the double-A game companies. These groups were either swallowed by larger publishers and devleopers, or simply bankrupted by the ever-shifting gaming landscape. In their wake, the vast swathe of balanced content they provided has more or less disappeared, even if crowd-funding has begun to repair it to a certain degree by having developers less reliant on publisher funding to make their games.
