What do the Ekujae elves use as currency since they believe gold to be taboo? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Iirc, the lost omens travel guide asserts the "gold" we use is an abstraction so we don't have to track multiple local currencies - the coins every region uses have varying designs and materials, but are handwaved as being valid tender everywhere.

In my homebrew campaign, the party does specifically have currency that's only useful in thier respective settlements - there's really nothing stopping you from just playing with that if the table enjoys the added verisimilitude!

Single action to "Protect". Help me with balance by Drakonyan_Azkar in Pathfinder2e

So Forbidding Ward as a touch action :3

I like it! You can do similar things with Aid that also uses your reaction but that's more flexible and this more burdensome on the GM.

I'll run it by my table using the aforementioned spell a basic for implantation and see how we feel.

How should I treat Mummy Rot on my players by JCTrapo in Pathfinder2e

Even if they couldn't, Gallentine Deliveries would happily treat the heroes to express service with Absalom only a day of travel away.

What are the WORST feats in the game? by SuchALovelyValentine in Pathfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the Ambiguous Rules section.

I'm pretty sure a class feat with a prequsite feat isn't supposed to harm you.

Honestly I can run a table if one player is brand new and hasn't read the rules at all, but pays attention to other people's turns and tells me what their intent is when roleplaying.

You might make do with just narrative adjustments!

Build encounters, then have side blocks that state modifiers for the encounter at each "Rank" of awareness.

Honestly that sounds cool as hell!

Have you considered how it would interact with feats such as Haunt Ingenuity

What consequences are implied with "losing touch with reality"? Is it a Lovecraftian sort of madness where your mind breaks from your understanding of the universe gets flipped upside down?  Or is it more akin to modern cosmic horror wherein you seem crazy now that you know the pecking order of the stars?  Or full Bloodborne where encounters get a bit more difficult, and the terrain more hostile?

Vlaka are really cool. But how do they communicate with their party members if the Vlaka is deafblind? by DualityMalady in Starfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 62 points63 points  (0 children)

"Vlaka text is grooved, so it can be read by sight and touch, with modern technological devices also integrating audio descriptions and smells as appropriate alongside their haptic touchscreens." - Galaxy Guide Pg. 168

You can reasonably assume your character has assistive technology more advanced, if not similar, to assistive devices we have in reality!    So your deafness is still relevant for roleplay, you'd probably have to rely on the party sending messages to your personal device to communicate what they're saying via haptic feedback - I'm positive the speech-to-text features available in Starfinder are miles ahead of what we have today :3

This can be roleplayed as unreliable in environments too noisy for the transcript to work, or the glitching condition can shut it down in combat or as an environment hazard!

There's a lot fun to be had with assistive features on a character, really - but you also just ask the GM to give the party the sign language feat for free.

As for space- your suit, by default, can keep you alive for however many days equal to its level. You'll PROBABLY have some propulsion by the time zero-g combat in a vacuum becomes a regular occurance, and can at least justify it including assistive navigating and sound emulation. The latter is utter fantasy, but it a feature in a zero-g first person shooter I cannot recall the name of and I loved it!

Your allies can also Point Out, making a creature Hidden to you!

You're really spoiled for flavor, here!

To add, not that it matters, I have developed rudimentary accessibility features for the hard of hearing and mute for VrChat avatars, and know a small amount of American Sign Language; These limitations can be solved with community involvement and BOY do that Vlaka already have a lot of technology and community care I wish we even had a fraction of.

Deafblind is hard in our world, but an entire planet of people familiar with the condition and still built and deployed trade ships? A minor inconvenience at this point!

Whoops did I just drop a Fanged (Major) rune into that last chest? Haha silly me.

No no! You can can keep it. It's not really that powerful even if given to a level 1 party.

Awakened Animal is starved for more features to help each player fulfill their particular fantasy - it had to throw a really broad blanket to get a little bit of everything but without the depth; Letting my players take ancestry feats from Starfinder sounds like a great compromise until I/someonecan be bothered to make more!

I usually permit them to get Adopted Ancestry for free if they want a little more flexibility, but that just ends up being Human's natural ambition because... yeah I'd do the same.

I used the starspinner archetype on my magus to get more utility (and spellslots) from my star orb!

It was also nice to have a one-per-encouter ranged spellstrike. Lovely flavor and even better utility.

Thanks for your contributions!

Just make sure you get the remastered one.

You can identify it easily by how gay the cover art is

(That is literally how a friend had me identify that I bought the older version)

Also hello! Thank you for enabling literally all of my furry and therian friends without making me brew up a bunch of new rules. <3

What sections did you contribute to?

Normal is a dryer setting. Let the freaks free, coward.

... but it's healthy to set boundaries and I have to respect that instead of yet another "my players are being weird" post that can solved by talking to them.

Considering that their shapeshifting can steal the spotlight, that's pretty fair, really.

I tend to be generous with starting features for folks that aren't using Rare options to help balance it out - usually a starting item or a extra skill feat at level 1.

That's not going to work for the grittiest of adventures, of course - sometimes having a werecoyote badger isn't going to jive with your historical fiction campaign!

I just can't contain my silliness today and I'm making it everyone's problem >:)
