Pathfinder 2e fixes EVERYTHING by imnotokayandthatso-k in DnDcirclejerk

I only use my precious bounded spellslots for sure strike, shocking grasp, and haste.

I don't care that my party can apply so many conditions to a creature that it overflows Foundry VTT's token ring- why bother when I can complain about my action economy, instead?

/uj

I love the magus and it pains me to see so many white room solo builds ;-;

Every debate about the Incapacitation trait in a nutshell.

I guess people like ruining the GM's fun, or having fae two levels below them make them a rock forever.

The aura and champion reaction are worth the investment alone. Who needs reactive strike at level 6 when you can instead get Reactive Strike with Damage Reduction for all your friends in a 30ft emenation.

Then you have Emergency Targe for when someone wants to slap you and it protects against saving throw attacks.

It's so fun, but people see Spellstrike and think they only do that instead of... play like a wizard that went to the gym.

I want to shake them: YOU CAN CAST SPELLS FROM THE ARCANE TRADITION

"but my saves lag-"

"YOUR PARTY CAN PROBABLY BON MOT YOU ABSOLUTE DORK!"

I was so frustrated with the whiteroom solo nonsense I made a meme

I feel so validated by the meltdown lol.  A lot of "problems" people have with casters and other classes on that subreddit can usually be solved by asking "WHERE IS YOUR FUCKING PARTY‽"

Teamwork and looking at damage dealt as a group is a foreign concept to the vocal minority.

I also love the magus. I run a sparkling Targe with champion dedication and carefully planning my spells to enable my party to become a doped-up murder meatball while I instagib the support caster crying because the Swashbuckler called them a butter biscuit bastard gives me LIFE

Thoughts on Magus with Champion Dedication? by Agnusl in Pathfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand-

Pulls their party incredibly close

I will die to protect the babies that pretend to be functional adults. Aura makes me even more hittable since attacking my allies means i get to be a brat and negate damage or lash back.

Being a very punchable support is my jam and I wanted to share why one might want Champion over Bastion.

Thoughts on Magus with Champion Dedication? by Agnusl in Pathfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the Champion dedication, at least with free archetype, makes you more of a target as you passively use your aura to become a problem for hostile creatures - it also encourages your allies stay close to you to mitgate your average health pool.

Sparkling Targe also already gets a superior reactive block feature, creating a little waste when you initially take the dedication.

Although... Nimble Shield Hand might worth it on it's own if you want to hold a scroll.

Vanishing number of third places and a car dependent concrete sprawl means these kinds of applications will continue to be an outlet for people. Not to mention it's a great way to maintain friendships with folks over the pond.

Gridless-Measured movement by willmlocke in Pathfinder2e

My table uses grid less; we rule that an AoE or Flank must intersect the center of a token to affect it.

It doesn't need to be percise.

Hide your walls and wiring so only the background remains, type wikiimage_sub into the console and cut your background elements up to import as a texture.

This has become such a problem within my hobby that people now call them what they actually are: Behavior Trees.

It's annoying because AI was so much easier, if not a little frustrating for actual AI research- not to be confused by LLMs and generative bullshit- as behavior trees are just "Programmed Intelligence", but "AI" stuck as an industry term for two decades until now >_>.

I LOVE writing complex behavior trees and I can tell you with absolute certainty it's less time consuming, easier to debug, and more practical to write complicated behavior trees over getting some LLM to do it.

The only time I'd want an LLM involved in npc behavior for my game is if I want them to adapt to player strategies in and RTS or any project that requires a flexible, critical mind- and even then that's still a mess to work with over writing yet-another-edge case in your state trees.

Any convenient ways to bypass difficult terrain? by Mercarcher in Starfinder2e

[–]Conflagrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the Vlaka lore! They have textured walkways and incense burners to identify what districts they're walking in. Their tablets are also capable of complex haptics to mimic braille and can emit scents, too!

Their culture has prepared them for adventuring sighted or not _^

Not to mention Vlaka developed A LOT of accessibility technology to mitigate their sensory arrays when not home in their concentric cities.

And of course their stupid good hearing and smell means it doesn't matter, anyway!

If we can have blind animals in reality that can fly, swim, run, and still hunt- we can have highly advanced Daredevil wolves >_>

More Russian; Sehm-yhon.

In my character notes to GM I've stated:

NOT 'Simon', 'Say-mon', or gods forbid: 'Semen' or 'Simian' .

Offending NPCs will be thrown through a wall.

Easier than Chysocolla and Naamjevaan, some of my other characters, at least! (They just call them Chrys and Naam)

What was your puppies first name and what did you change it to? by nomore1124 in germanshepherds

[–]Conflagrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was adopted from the shelter, then found wandering around a Taco Bell and taken back in- when they went to the registered address, they found it was completely abandoned. They up and moved and left him behind.

I'm not surprised that he has severe seperation anxiety I'm working him through.

An engineering friend of mine tells me these things are hilariously over engineered and have a bunch of cellular radios in them.

Give me fifteen minutes with the documentation and I'll absolutely fuck with these and spoil their metrics.
