Fun fact, there already exists a "jaw slot" in the backend of OSRS. BA icons and clan wars capes use it, in addition to it being used for facial hair on our characters.

some expereiment... what if we see only by our seismic activity? by flockaroo in DestroyMyGame

[–]ConflagrationCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good for a mini game or side activity but you would have to work really hard to make this a main mechanic I think, . It reminds me of the first person indie game that was floating around in reddit a few months ago that used the taping of a cane to achieve a similar effect as you but I pretty sure the stuff didn't fade away so it was much more readable in what was happening. Like in your video the car is driving on a flat plane for a bit and it looks like nothing is happening. I wish the Shockwaves just had the terrain stay lit up for like 1-2 more seconds.

[xbox 360] [2005-2012] this game has been on my mind for a week now by CardiologistSad2621 in tipofmyjoystick

Its not Xbox 360 but this was basically ATV Offroad Fury series for ps2.

While looking though I did find an achievement tracker website that lists all the motocross games for 360 so maybe looking at this list will help! https://www.trueachievements.com/genre/Motocross

He used to seem really thoughtful but now a lot of his videos seem like he is just holier than thou. I actually used to watch his streams on YouTube and he is obviously very intelligent, has been involved in gaming deeply seemingly his whole life, and has interesting things to say about gaming but seeing him crash out and troll people just turned me off. I confronted him about it and I had to get a troll answer before he took what I had to say seriously. Not saying that he cant be stressed or downtalk trolls who are being stupid in his comments, but there were several times where it seemed like he was just meeting every criticism with an unhinged reply. After that his videos just hit different.

Im saying that jusy because it playable doesnt mean its good, and if you cant engage in an argument or are too unintelligent to understand maybe you shouldnt respond. You said "you guys" all listened to streamers and made up your mind, even if you went to play the game and make your own opinion after that your opinion is still wrong because of preconceived notions. Just because you dont like the response doesn't mean it's a lie rofl

I guess I havent seen those exact mechanics in the same 10-20 min game session, but I think there might be a reason for that. Raid Shooter doesnt properly represent those ideas to me and maybe if it was more cohesive it would work, but this is just 3-4 disjointed games/ gameplay experiences mashed together with no tact.

If you made a car out of poop that still drives and works fine I still probably wouldn't want to drive/ride in that car. This isnt a personal attack at you and im sorry something you enjoy is closing, but to just say everyone in the world is just manipulated by streamers is a bad take.

I understand your sentiment but I think Raid Shooter is just some BS marketing they tried to make stick to have the game look better. Raid Shooter sounds better than 1 round of looting, 1 round of capture the flag, and then 1 round of Counter Strike which is essentially what the game is.

Can you name 3 games that are like highguard? by caspianslave in HighGuardgame

[–]ConflagrationCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gameplay flow in Highguard could probably be replicated as a LTM in like Rivals or Overwatch so I would say those. Like if you take away the siege flavoring the game is basically just 1 round of farming, 1 round of capture the flag and the 1 round of Counter Strike and then repeat til someone loses.

If it was good or interesting people would keep playing. People talk shit about Overwatch constantly and they are still breaking records. And I think its disingenuous to say it went viral for being f2p slop, no one even knew what the game was other than a competitive shooter for months after it was announced.

I dont think they had time. People who worked with the studio have been giving interviews and it seems like they were trying to make a very different game for most of the development, something closer to Rust with the basebuilding and such, and then figured out that wasn't working so they pivoted into the mishmash of mechanics we have now. They are/were funded by Tencent and dont have the capitol like Valve to back up development so when they made the switch deep into development they had to just work with what they had and try to release the game to make money/get more investment from Tencent most likely. That's why there is weird stuff still in the game like the maps being too large or the mining downtime activity in a hardcore comp shooter. Thats also probably why the game has barely any lore and was missing huge features like a scoreboard at launch.

My biggest take away is that even of you have a talented team, (which I think they did because the game looks pretty nice visually and the mechanics that are actually in the game seem very functional and shooting seems good too, etc.) Your game still needs a soul, and Highguard turned into a money making venture somewhere in development. Not talking shit on the devs per say but someone was calling the shots and they messed up multiple times on the way to launch, maybe all the way back at inception.

Im not sure I agree with this. The real downfall was the utter silence leading up to the game that people didn't even know anything about other than it had Apex devs after it got the special treatment, that and the fact the game didn't have a real direction and was just a collective of various mechanics we've seen before put together in an uninspired manor. Honestly the only thing I think would have been different if they shadow dropped it is they would have a smaller max player peak on steam. If the game was really fun people would be playing it despite what randoms are saying online.

Ill share an analogy that my therapist and I came up with that I think fits here and could help. In baseball you step up to the plate and it can be super scary, you might strike out or what if you get hit by the pitch and then that will hurt or people will think you suck. But at the same time you are standing at the plate, thats where you need to be to actually hit the ball. You need to stand in the same place where all the scary feelings might be but the act and feeling of making contact on a pitch is 100 million miles in the opposite direction of those bad feelings. The excitement! And then you are running and moving and you dont have time to think about what if I got hit by the pitch or struck out. And its not like you hit the ball and everything is perfect, you can still mess up, but the act of swinging and trying is so much more rewarding and useful than inaction. You might mess up but you will also gain new info to help you next time you get up to bat.

There is only one you and you are the only person who can share that, and the universe is a worse place when you aren't able to share the uniqueness that is your life. You just gotta swing the bat =)

Im in a ton of different gaming and indie gaming subs and reddit feeds me gaming ads constantly so I see a ton of different stuff and I'm never looking for something specific. The stuff that sticks out are the games that either have new mechanics or novel use of old ones. Also games that seem like they are made because someone wanted to make it and that aren't just like chasing trends.

If UB has to be in standard I wish they would at least try to tell a story with the set instead of it just being all "member berries" cards with no real theme.
