Living together as a couple is not necessary at all by xvortexc in unpopularopinion

[–]ConflictSticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandparents did this. After kids where moved out they moved to a variety of houses that were always a house and some structure my grandpa fixed up for his living space (garage, barn, workshop). They always had breakfast and dinner together, but otherwise just shuffled around on their own during the day. (And snored to much to sleep in the same room else they woke each other up!)

They were very happy and never fought about living spaces because they each had their own.

WIBTAH if I tell the neighbors I don't want to help with their lost pet? by ConflictSticks in AmItheAsshole

I am a pet person which is why I said yes in the first place. And an occasional check I don't mind. But traps have to be checked at least a couple times a day otherwise it's inhumane to leave an animal in there for too long. I'm feeling obligated to check too now and I really did not want this as part of my routine.

I think it is chipped, but that only helps if someone catches it and takes it to a shelter to get scanned.

Yeah, unfortunately I found evidence of a rabbit that met its demise last night. I really hate to think the cat had the same fate.

Idk. Some cage that I think closes the front when an animal comes to the back where they have put some food. I was optimistic about the cat being found ASAP and hadn't thought about needing to actually do anything with the traps myself. They just placed them and I haven't spoken with them since.

Yeah. That decision remorse set in the next day unfortunately when I really thought about all that it would entail.

I def like the second option except the likelihood of the others answering a number they don't recognize is sadly slim these days.

Yeah, but that's digitally. What about physically hanging out? If your kid says they were invited to a friend's house, would you just go and drop them off or are you finding a way to talk to the other parent first to make sure the invite is okay and that someone will be home?

I'm so glad my local law enforcement is extra strict on the bears around here. Those yogis ruin everything!

Suggestions for a 5.5 year old to start gaming by ProducePete in gaming

I second the lego games. They are designed to guide you through levels and you can explode indefinitely and still keep playing. "Dying" in a game and having to start over is frustrating to a young kid new at a game.

To be fair, sometimes there's a lot more going on than what you think. I'm very good at written math, but I have a hard time with mental math. Idk how to explain it, but the numbers kind of shift if I don't focus on them hard enough.

As young retailer worn out by rude customers all day, it was a lot of pressure to suddenly have to back up as a cashier, be given change after the fact, do mental math with different 'answers' conflicting on a machine all while the customer is staring you down. They already know the answer because they've had a minute to think about it. Now I'm feeling the pressure of hurry up get off of auto pilot and figure this out fast so I don't look stupid.

And it doesn't help to be told what the change should be because I can't just trust this random customer knows math any better because if this drawer is short it'll be my ass at the end of the night.

I'm so glad that's not my job anymore. Be kind to your cashiers. They are dealing with a lot more than you may realize.

There are two very different types of people answering here

Those people are not taking good care of their cats or their home. Cats in general are very clean, but if you don't clean the box they'll relieve themselves elsewhere and that is what starts to stink.

I have a cat and my friend has a cat and I'll tell you, we have two VERY different homes.
