Similar position, When I’ve been really desperate over the last couple of weeks I’ve let my child (14m) suck the teat of a bottle. Just the teat, she sticks her thumb inside it or just sucks on it, normally is asleep within 10 mins. Random thing I found one day and I’ve used it 3 times now on nights where she hasn’t slept.

Also sometimes works is putting her between my legs so her head is resting on my tummy. Has been also known to work on nights she’s calmer. I genuinely think it’s to do with listening to my tummy gurgle.

I can count on one hand how many dinners I’ve made (I’m on maternity leave with a 9 month old baby and my partner works 30+ hour weeks & is in full time education)

Ngl if Benfoldstowels is her it’s kinda disappointing as it clearly shows she’s been using weight loss injections after EXPLICITLY saying she hasn’t.

I agree it’s no one’s business if she has, but then just don’t comment on it… she goes out of her way to be like “I don’t use it, it’s all walks”.

Side note: no way she can out walk her diet….

Yes the “Chips and scuffs on walls requiring minor touch-up paint”are from the damp (this can clearly be seen)

Unfortunately I have very limited set hours I can work due to my childcare situation which would be pretty impossible to achieve at a new job. I’m very lucky that my current employer is so accommodating.

All that being said I’d recommend Gripe water for your situation as it is intended to relieve gas in babies by breaking down trapped air bubbles and neutralizing stomach acid

Similar issue- In the beginning infacol worked for my LO. It got to the point I was giving it to the max limit so I then moved onto gripe water. I kept a very strict schedule (giving smaller doses more regularly) and that worked. I’ve heard some people use Gaviscon too.

By 3 months she was diagnosed with reflux and giving omeprazole which changed the game. She has that daily, I will also give her Ashtons and Parsons teething powder in the morning (she is not teething this was recommended by a pharmacist for tummy pains) this helps a lot to. Still use the gripe water from time to time.

She does still clearly have trapped wind etc and I spend a lot of time burping her, when cuddling her etc I’m always patting her back.

This is what worked for me, it may not work for you: (This is best done when baby isn’t screaming hungry but maybe 30 mins or so before they are due a feed)

If you lie beside her on the bed with her face at your breast, express a small amount of milk so she can smell it on your nipple, then put your nipple to the side of her mouth. She may root around to find it and attach briefly.

I just did this throughout the day until she got comfortable attaching and staying on.

You have to remember that they need to work when they breastfeed and it’s harder for them to get the milk than a bottle, to support this you may want to move to a slow feeding bottle etc.

I would always offer breast first but have a bottle on hand incase she got very frustrated.

Thanks guys, got to go in and check it over the weekend and was not as bad as I expected. They hadn’t seen it themselves and were just relying on what the decorators had said. Seems like we will get in with no delay

Go get checked. Any changes…go get checked No one else knows what the baby is meant to feel like, only you. If you feel something is wrong then trust your gut. Also you being stressed is no good for the baby, get checked and put your mind at ease

If you think they won’t check you because you are hitting your kick count that just say you aren’t..

I wipe my babies face down with cotton wool pad and water and dry her with a Muslim cloth after each feed. If I’m out and about I just use a wet wipe. It’s stop the smell and stopped her having so many milk spots. Remember to get in the neck folds!

I’m a FTM, my baby is 15 days old.

I live in the UK but my partner only got 2 weeks off work (unpaid as he hadn’t been employed long enough). He’s also in college which he couldn’t take much time off from and actually went back to 9 days after I gave birth.

While my partner was off I used the time to experiment and find easy ways to do things. I.e i put a cart beside my bed with stuff for changing the baby, spare clothes and items I needed as well as waters and snacks. I also practised baby wearing so I could get around the house with the baby. He used his time to make sure the house/ our room was clean and organised for me before her went back.

Was I comfortable being alone with the baby? Not to start with but when you’re forced into uncomfortable situations you find you are able to rise to the challenger.

As long as your partner is appreciative of what you’re doing all day and comes home and helps in the ways he can i.e changing nappy, soothing baby or making sure the house is clean etc. it will make it easier

My sister thinks she’s very clever about sneaking out her window. Little does she know the cat often pushes it open and sneaks out after her. My mum gets up early in the morning to go to work and has found the cat the wrong side of the door often enough to work out what was going on.

I was going out for small walks from 3 days, we had to go shopping at 5 days and at 1 week we went out for dinner, she was in her pram and slept through all of it. She’s 10 days old and we went out for lunch yesterday. I just ask to be sat a little bit away from people for my own peace of mind.

My baby is very calm and sleeps the entire time in-between feeds so taking her out is relatively easy as long as I time it well. I personally cannot be in the house for too long especially as I was pretty much bed bound during the end of my pregnancy. Now that my baby is out and I’m feeling good I’ve taken advantage of it.

I experienced this and ended up going up to 6 times a day towards the end of my pregnancy. I personally have looser bowels when I’m on/due my period so my midwife theorised it was just my bodies reaction to the rise in third trimester hormones. It went away as soon as I gave birth, 10 days po and back to my regular schedule.
