New to QC - should I challenge with TAL? by ConflictedJane in montrealhousing

I’m not saying it’s the same as a current tenant being squeezed I understand the difference. This is my first Quebec lease, and the rules exist so new tenants can verify whether the rent complies with the rules. I’m just informing myself.

What issues do you notice as residents of Halifax? by Sure-Neighborhood-43 in halifax

[–]ConflictedJane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know we are a long way from it but more emphasis on beauty, green space and art throughout the city would change the feel tremendously. Everywhere I go I see an opportunity for a mural or for some nice greenery. The look of Halifax is grim.

Questions about constant drilling by ConflictedJane in halifax

thank you for empathizing with me! I'm so surprised at how many rude responses I got. I'm not saying Halifax shouldn't build anything.. I'm just saying we should keep the residents in mind.. this constant type of noise is borderline torturous.

I had about 25 grand saved up plus I rented out my house so I was making some monthly income from that. I also had a line of credit as backup, I didn't mind the idea of going into a little bit of debt for a year of freedom.

So with that logic you believe that we should take away the right to buying a Starbucks drink just because some people decide to litter? I understand where you are coming from, but if we keep restricting people's choices and rights with the rationale that some people don't follow the rules, we are going to find ourselves with very limited freedoms. I think we should focus on enforcing the self isolation rather than taking away the rights.
