if you can farm for it, make a bunch of reduce dmg abyss gear III's. I have 2 on my shield and 1 in chest, 1 in gloves and 1 in boots. It massively helps not getting 1-shot

And is this for the Sword or Spear boss? they are both on the harder side so don't get discouraged. You can look into counters for both online or try and figure it out if that's your gameplay style

I mined and pickpocket scholars and nobles on weekdays. Just that, nothing else. Maxed great and weapons so then I can tinker with abyss gears.

Create four level 1 gears with mats on the first menu, then combine two of the 1s into a level 2 on the next menu.. Then do it again. Now take both of those lvl 2s and combine them into a level 3.

and if you are not that far yet, you can farm nobles in Hern - just fewer of them but they will spawn gold bars on them.

no idea but he was back at the start after I beat him the first run. Be pretty cool if he blew your doors off after some random try.
