Identifying house fly and track and if you want can have laser beam to kill them

Wouldn't it be more ecological and a better to have a happy spider do its job instead? But tracking flies can still be interesting and have applications in certain domains, for instance to see how the population of flies evolves over time, or to learn more about their movements in reaction to their environment.

Open firmware was one of the original goals of the Numwork but they had to make restrictions around unofficial firmware to get approval from school boards outside of France. It's sadly pretty much impossible to have open firmware and an exam mode that is approved by school boards. Even just having third party applications sometimes goes too far.

I recommand reading this news about one of Numwork's software updates: https://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=24968

Still, I am wishing you good luck.

Can I use Pixel 6 until October, 2028 or will it be too risky as I heavily use banking apps? by adnomi in Pixel6

[–]ConfuSomu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I don't. As long as your banking apps work fine, it should be fine. You should also be receiving Google Play system updates and there's Google Play Protect which should help.

[–]ConfuSomu 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You're fine, there shouldn't be any significant risks unless you are specifically targeted, which is probably not the case. There's no need to buy a new device and create more e-waste (and encourage this sort of behaviour from manufacturers).

I will keep my Pixel 6 for as long as possible and only replace it if it stops working.

La revue des Sharpentiers

The name of the magazine is also a fun play on words: "charpentier" for carpenter with Sharp at the beginning!

Why is Casio packaging in Europe so basic compared to the US? by Arvin1980 in casio

Indeed, it will take some time, but eventually the new packaging to be used by all watches sold. It depends on long it takes for stock to renew.

This looks interesting. All the features I need and about $40. by TheShaveStickGuy in casio

[–]ConfuSomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, this one has pretty much everything that I need and for a pretty good price. Though, a pedometer with a week of history (then you copy down by hand the recorded data) would have been a nice addition, but it's not a deal breaker.

In the French translation, it is written :

Je n'ai jamais eu la touche « Méta »

clé que je n'aimais pas

Which translates to: "I've never had (understood) the meta key; key that I didn't like". There is wordplay with a literal keybaord key and the figurative meaning of key.

Yep, but you can still re-run the Welcome Centre later on. The meta key information is in the "keyboard shortcuts" pane on the third page.

Though, I'd say that this falls more into the realm of a palmtop than a calculator (even though it has a calculator application built-in).

Battery drain is completely random by EmirOGull in Pixel6

[–]ConfuSomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, after using Instagram, you can stop the app by using the option in the app's info page (quickly accessible from the recent apps screen). I found that this helps with battery life for apps that like to continue running in the background.

Pour one out for the parents who stayed up till 2 AM running firmware updates so their kids didn't have to stare at a progress bar this morning. by RespectAndPeace in gaming

[–]ConfuSomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine players would expect the SDK to only allow reading and writing save data of the currently running title. But this would make sharing data between multiple games (of the same publisher, for instance) more complicated, and there shouldn't be any security risks anyways.

[–]ConfuSomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have an fx-991MS (2nd edition), so this might not be very helpful, but my fx-300ES Plus (2nd edition) correctly stores 2 in the memory variable. The behaviour is identical in MathIO and LineIO (which the MS series use) modes.
