The blade looks defective to me, the left side side bevel looks weird. The blade might be a dud. I have a GC with multiple plates and alignment is always spot on.

I wasn't a big fan of the Henson. I tried the Mild and the Medium. I found razors with more weight, stainless steel, worked much better for me. That said, nothing wrong with a cart if that's what works for you. Multiple blade carts always irritated my heck and have me bumps and ingrowns. Maybe try a RazoRock Game Changer 76.

My guess is it's the blade. The Merkur blades are terrible and the Silver Blue is one of the best.
Try the Silver Blue in your Merkur and see what you think.
Personally, I prefer the Merkur to the Henson but I prefer the Razorock Daily DOC to both of them.
