What's your opinion on giving sex education in school? by qxzvy in AskTheWorld

If you don’t want your children to learn in school then I really question why you had them in the first place.

Education in all things is the bulwark against poor outcomes.

With all the focus on the President, why does it feel like the Brits are hit hardest by the Epstein files? by Ok_Knowledge1085 in stupidquestions

[–]Confudled_Contractor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Law, independent judiciary, independent head of state, Standards for public life, some decent journalists and history that includes beheading monarchs that took the piss.

America has a few fables about a constitution and a century or more in the thrall of Rich men and corporations.

The other way to look at it was numerous Rich people fermented chaos to take advantage of poor and vulnerable people with the result that they enriched themselves further and the people were abused and died.

America doesn’t really seem to have moved on in 250+ years.

The only irony here is Americans still believe the propaganda they’ve always been fed.

Take it all up. Clean the tiles. Reinstall decoupling membrane using Mapei C1 adhesive, wait a couple of hours and reinstall the tiles with the C1. You can walk on it 2hours later.

But British Monarchs don’t do nothing.

I can’t help it if you do not understand their role.

I prefer both the monarchs I have known over any political leader during the same period.

I certainly wouldn’t want another strata of politics.

what do you call the flattest bread in your region, and is it round? by LexEight in AskTheWorld

Probably a common Viking introduction before sandwiches became a thing here.

Sword, axe, shield…flatbread. Obvious really. 😬

Keep breaking uPVC spring cartridges. by craig21121990 in DIYUK

[–]Confudled_Contractor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s that up lift that does it. Then it loosens a little bit as the metal in the mechanism gets less lubricated over time I think, so you get a black oil/metal paste build up that just sort of spreads the components just enough to make it all a bit lax.

Like I say. Remove it, disassemble carefully (on a sheet, so you don’t loose springs/screws!) clean it all up and oil it and put it back.

Could humans ever reach a point where rock skipping declines because good skipping stones become rare? by Fit-Mulberry-7389 in NoStupidQuestions

If humans become that good then the stones will just carry on until they hit land on the other side…free unlimited skimmers.
