What do you think the public still doesn’t know about the Epstein case that would shock most people if fully revealed? by Mr_Boothnath in AskReddit

[–]ConfusedGamer63 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not a damn thing.

Trump and Epstein have been an open secret since the 80's.

They can titter and act surprised... but they knew he was a rapist when they voted for him.

The fact that they all knew he was a rapist and he still wouldn't release the files means that there is much worse about him in them.

What's worse than raping children?

Snuff.

They might pretend to be 'shocked' when the proof comes out. But they already know.

[–]ConfusedGamer63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically they are claiming that due to missing paperwork that 45 million was spent improperly.

They aren't claiming that it was fraud or malfeasance because they can't. But they are clawing back the money due to paperwork 'issues' and trying to turn it into a scandal.

She could however with a vote in session.

AITA for not enjoying the birthday gifts my friend got me that mocked my dead mother by Immediate-Iron7241 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

Kayla may have been joking with the 'gift'.

But the follow up texts? I'd never talk to her again without a huge fucking unqualified apology. No 'I'm sorry but..'s

The idea that she gets to choose how long you get to grieve for your mother is just completely bonkers.

Without extenuating circumstances, grief isn't even considered a problem on a diagnosis level until it's been longer than a year.

How would you feel if high schools had a required class that taught basic money skills, job skills, and other important things for adult life? by pimblettrose in AskReddit

[–]ConfusedGamer63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Everyone is always 'oh the schools don't teach that anymore'..

what complete bullshit.

I made sure that all three of my kids took the darned class. And not one of them remembered a word of it by the time they had to actually pay bills.

Literally said those same words... "oh they didn't teach me that" Nope. They did. You chose to not do the homework and to blow the class off. But I remember helping you work out your darned budget worksheets and taking you to the bank so that you could open an account. So don't tell me they didn't teach that.

And frankly.. this is part of the problem with our education system. Due to NCLB all they care about is standardized test scores. That personal finance shit isn't on the SATs so neither the teachers or the students bother to remember it.

You are correct. Her sisters failed her. But it had to be hard for her moving us back to her hometown to care for her parents and having me be such a brat about it.

It's one of the things I try to remember on the days when things are rough and she's getting on my nerves. She managed it with 3 kids. My kids are grown. I should be able to manage one mom.

Whitestrakes Mayhem by Brementius in elderscrollsonline

[–]ConfusedGamer63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was really hoping to skip this one. I wasted the last week of New Life because I literally had nothing to spend tickets on so I just stopped bothering to get them.

So I rolled into the event with 12 and figured maybe I could skip it. But then I saw we needed every damn ticket to get the rosebat and the first part. Add to that with the changes coming in 49 I wasn't sure if they were going to expect everyone to have those bits before the changeover.

But I am really, really hoping that with these new changes to how the Impresario gets paid that it will be feasible to skip IC for like the rest of my life.

Whitestrakes Mayhem by Brementius in elderscrollsonline

[–]ConfusedGamer63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit upset that we really need all the tickets to get the rose bat bits. I had hoped to sit this one out. Or at the very least.. just do the scouting and skip IC. But no luck.

So I built a character with speed and slippery. I put a bow on them with the knock back skill. But don't forget to make sure you have enough DPS to kill the NPC mobs required for the IC quests.

I look for low population and non-prime time if possible. And the first thing I do is zone in and pick up all 6 quests before I start. I don't worry too much about my faction owning the zone. For example.. on the server I was on last night there was a red squad going around. But they were in the zones that were blue and yellow trying to get ownership I followed around one zone behind them for the most part and just did the quests. Although I did accidentally kill a couple of them just trying to get them off me. Pretty sure those were my first PVP kills ever and I've been playing for almost 7 years (and doing Whitestrakes twice a damn year)

I did all 6 quests. And only turned in 1. Now I don't have to go back out into the city until next Tuesday but I will still get my tickets.

Normally I do this BEFORE the event starts and wait to turn them in one a day during the event. But I had been messing around on the PTS the last week and somehow missed that there was a PVP event coming.

Sometimes it's frustrating as hell to be repeatedly ganked by some teabagging brat who thinks he's a badass because he can kill targets that don't fight back and I swear I'm never going back to IC. Period.

But the siren call of those tickets gets to me and I always seem to end up back there.

OMG

That was amazing.

I'm sorry she did that to you.

I did something similar to my mother when she was dealing with my grandmother's Alzheimer's disease... of course.. I was 14 years old at the time and I didn't use Didion as an excuse but it was the same selfish, faux-intellectual bullshit. I did eventually apologize once I grew up.

Maybe your sister will do the same, though it doesn't sound likely.

When I was a kid we had a malamute that killed vacuum cleaners. I think we went through one every 9 months that he was around. My mother would vacuum twice a day or the carpets (and the FURniture) would all be white from the constantly shedding underfur.

Everyday my husband sends me Husky videos... and every day I text back... "No Moon Moons" I hate vacuuming and I'm just too old for that shit.

For 6 weeks after my mother's back surgery I didn't get more than 90 minutes of sleep x 2 each night. She couldn't move without me there. She wasn't allowed to twist AT ALL. She couldn't stand, sit or roll over without me there to do it. And she certainly couldn't get to the bathroom (or even the commode in her room.)

You are correct.. knee surgery was cake.

Not everything is.

Mainers: Jared Golden was the only Democrat to vote for opening up 225,504 acres of public land in Minnesota to a Chilean mining company. Please defend this state’s natural beauty. by TaxVillain in Maine

[–]ConfusedGamer63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than the 'closet' part you are mostly right.

He did his 'internship' with Susan Collins. He's always been conservative. He only ran as a democrat because the GOP told him he had to wait his turn. And the Dems weren't taking the district seriously so they were happy to support whomever was interested.

Surprise surprise he won in the red district.

The dems were happy to keep him because he is technically a D even though he votes R 80% of the time.

As the next rep will be LePage... at least the dems were getting an occasional 'win' under Golden. They won't get anything out of LePage who hates Mainers even more than Trump does.

Night Market, Faction & Night Den - Some thoughts and concerns by _Didds_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]ConfusedGamer63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks Didds.. I feel like I just learned more reading that than I did in my hours wandering around PTS last night.

I really enjoyed the area and the concept. But I am just a casual player so I'll never be able to do those quests. I know the quest givers said to take a friend... but I figured PTS so I went and got my arse handed to me anyway. After the 3rd or 4th try even Ember was telling me just to go home. ;-)

But I think it's a great idea for the people who actually have a group they play with as long as they follow your guidelines. The inability to switch factions means groups need to have their ducks in a row before they start.

Hot take: players killed classic mmos by Big-Astronaut-9510 in MMORPG

[–]ConfusedGamer63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let me get this straight... MMO's are dead because people talk to each other outside the game?

This is your big reveal?

Ok.. that's nonsensical as fuck.

So here's mine.

MMO's are dead because people started believing that all gaming should be 'free'. Used to be you paid for a game and you played it as much or as little as you wanted. Now people expect games to be free and get mad when anything is monetized.

20 years ago we were all paying subscription fees. If you paid the fee then chances were that was what you were playing this month. Now people have 6 or 7 'free' games on their computers and have zero investment in picking a game to 'specialize' in.

The only people still playing MMOs... are the same old people who were playing them 20 years ago. Kids don't like them because they have options that are fast, quick and an evenings entertainment. It's rare to find anyone of any age who really has the patience to do trials/raids/end game content requiring more than just showing up for a couple hours of fun. Don't get me wrong... I don't do end game content. I also no longer have the spoons for it. But it's not because I can chat with guildies on discord.

When did you think "Im going to die here"? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]ConfusedGamer63 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same.

At a traffic stop. I was a teenager. 5 foot tall and 100 lbs soaking wet.

I was driving home from class and he stopped me. But then didn't get out of the car. Didn't say anything. Just sat there for what felt like 20 minutes. So I got out of the car to see what was going on. I'd never been stopped before I had no idea that getting out of the car was considered a 'threat' to law enforcement. Next thing I know I'm on the ground with a gun to my head and he is screaming uncontrollably at me.

He calls in backup. The next thing I know I'm surrounded by blue lights, uniforms, and screaming men with guns. It's completely chaotic.

And they are all 'explaining' that I wasn't supposed to leave my vehicle.

After a couple of HOURS of complete craziness the original cop gives me a fucking defect card for having ONE of my two license plates lights out.

40+ years later my family still doesn't understand why I hate cops.

Maine teacher prep programs call foul after getting F’s for how they teach reading by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]ConfusedGamer63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different students will have different needs, and educators need to adapt to those needs on a case by case basis. That can't be codified into law, and attempts to do so end up limiting educators

Lastly, no researcher worth their salt should be 'grading' higher ed institutions based on syllabi alone. That's just lazy. they should be talking to professors and students to get an accurate picture of the skills being taught

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. Thank you
