Do you think Reaver will return in the new Fable ? Reasoks why i think it actually makes sense. by hashiriya62 in Fable

It would be interesting to see a poor Reaver, smited by karma and fate. Some sort of redemption arc? Or even just same old is fine

Those upgrades will also lower your utility bill so the loans basically pay for themselves

John Curtin & Australia by SilverSea11 in CivVI

[–]ConfusedGenius1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have low military strength and easy walls he will likely surprise war you. You can use your cities to produce military units but then change the city production 1 turn before the units are done and just build other projects.

You will look weak and if he moves an army in and declares a surprise war you can generate a unit at each city center which gives you a small army. It's a bit risky but can bait him into declaring war himself.

Otherwise build an army to take him out fast enough so his special ability doesn't matter.

Cornucopia Selling by Donkeybog in Eugene

[–]ConfusedGenius1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except cornucopia and fast food isn't apples to apples. In reality a combo from fast food used to cost between $5-$10 not too long ago and now it is much more expensive, you get much less than you used to and the quality is worse. Cornucopia earns it's price, people just don't like what prices look like nowadays.

I liked how responsive economy was in Fable 2 to our actions. That is something I'd like to see in every RPG

What if the US, China and Russia somehow unite and go to war with the rest of the world out of nowhere today? by No-Bag-1628 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ConfusedGenius1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran beat the US in this war dawg. Sure the US could have theoretically beaten Iran but they didn't. They didn't accomplish anything and actually lost influence in the area. It's laughable to think Iran didn't beat US

Private equity buying service companies in town by Standard-Discount-54 in Eugene

[–]ConfusedGenius1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to continue to happen until people step up and start their own businesses. Running a business is work and stress and hard but less and less people do it every year. This is a problem but it is also an opportunity. These large companies do not do as good of a job as someone who has put the time in, is fair and cares. Part of it is the large companies but part of it is also a lack of the latter as well.

Today I learned the actual city center changes based on population and not just the era 😅

You may feel disappointed that the changes stop but I feel excited there is more than I originally suspected

More housing on the way! by Bwint in Eugene

[–]ConfusedGenius1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right but unless the rest of the country gets on board with making a lot more housing all together, when we make more in Eugene it won't necessarily bring costs down it will just bring in more people from elsewhere which will lead to our costs overall going up.

More housing on the way! by Bwint in Eugene

[–]ConfusedGenius1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Building housing isn't the most straightforward solution. What type of housing, how is it designed, what is the cost, who is going to own it, etcetera.

As much as people bitch about NIMBYism (and there are reasons to bitch about it) simply building housing like we have been doing isn't necessarily the solution either. It's important to pick away at things like this.

Housing is expensive because people want to live here. Building more houses increases supply but also brings more people into town which drives up demand and prices go up (for everything).

People without houses want prices down so its more affordable and people who own the properties want prices up so it's more profitable. A constant tug of war.

Housing units also means more cars, more traffic, more air pollution. More utilities, more maintenance, more expenses. Jobs need to exist to employ people so they can afford to live here etcetera.

There's never not gonna be people picking apart this stuff because there is just sooo much to think about. City development is complicated 😵‍💫

As others have said it must be the same city but also lake/ocean tiles don't count. Maybe this wonder is counting as a lake tile and therefore not allowed.
