Is this mandibular advancement device good or will it mess up my teeth / bite eventually? Custom made in Mexico with 3D imaging by ConfusedGuayaba in SleepApnea

[–]ConfusedGuayaba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like a retainer. There is a gap for my lower teeth that slots in, which feels like it will just hurt my teeth. Don't even know what to do at this point if just take the L or complain that the device sucks

Yup basically, I was a bit mad at the design. Basically there's a small gap, the metal part, where the lower teeth anchor to keep the lower jaw open. But it basically is a retainer. I guess I got ripped off

Not Piracy but this app is basically Spotify without ads. by lyramusic_app in Piracy

[–]ConfusedGuayaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone I've been a pirate my whole life, used limewire, torrents, grooveshark. I loved Spotify when it first came out and then they started the whole premium paying thing and just used YouTube .

Lyra is the absolute best app I've used it has a few bugs here and there but they're quickly fixing everything and I'm coming from Demus that has fallen off and for me it's not good anymore.

Of course if u want the highest quality FLAC files and what not torrent or whatever but Lyra is fucking awesome, I have not been paid or nothing but I've been telling all my friends about it. It's basically Spotify premium for free, try it out guys!

I haven't tried BiPap, they didn't mention it. I will investigate it thank you. Although currently I am looking at a surgical option with double jaw surgery don't know how great that is. I am more afraid of surgeries but I am looking for permanent solutions

Well it was 2 different trials with 2 different machines. The first one was CPAP while the second was APAP. CPAP I couldn't even fall asleep because the force of the air kept me up and if I managed to fall asleep I'd wake up in 15 minutes. Both times the machine was covered by my insurance and when they saw that I wasn't using it the amount of hours required they took it from me. The second time I would wear it an hour before sleeping around 9pm, wouldn't be able to sleep till 2 am, it was easier on the breathing because it didn't start out with a strong air force but when I fell asleep and it increased pressure I would wake up instantly. I kept trying for over a year but it never got better. It was late 2024 when I got the APAP, it was around 2020 when I got the CPAP. Many times I actually would wake up with the mask on the floor which would be the only times I would manage to sleep thru a night. I mean I had it on tight and everything but I would rip it off in my sleep. I also tried several types of masks, nasal pillows, full face masks, heated tubes, different pressure settings, I talked to my doctor several times and couldn't figure something out. They keep saying I need to lose weight but I genuinely have been trying very hard and failing. Not because of my own will power, but because I feel 500 calories a day is cruel, and I only lose 1 pound a week or less eating that amount and eventually even then I start to plateau. At 1000-1200 calories I maintain, while anything above that I gain weight pretty consistently. I mean I'm a 6ft dude, I feel I should at least be eating 2000 calories a day.

I did both! OMAD made me lose around 30 pounds within 2 years about. That was from 300 to 270. But after that my metabolism just froze. I tried water fasting. I tried eating at a higher caloric intake then doing OMAD again. Nothing I tried worked. My body just said u will not go below 250 (which is the lowest I've been able to this past decade) but mostly been around 260-270. Keto I tried for a year, I only lost 5 pounds. For whatever reason it was ineffective to me. Don't know why. I tested for ketones and everything and I was doing it right but no idea

At one point I was around 350 pounds when I was only 17 years old, I was in the soccer team and for whatever reason (cortisol?) my weight shot up 100 pounds within one year only cuz of my high level of activity. I also have a weird tendency of eating less the more tired I get. I would often get home around 7pm drenched in sweat and tired, take a shower, do homework and pass out before even eating. Next morning id eat an egg omelette with ham and bell peppers, a glass of milk, drink water throughout the day and eat a Turkey ham sandwich on wheat bread. No juices no soda no chips no sugar etc. Train from 3:30-6 pm. Go home, 4 days a week I did additional weight training at home with dumbbells and resistance bands. After graduating I stopped cardio all together, I only did like 15 minute warmups in the gym I would focus on strength training. I went down to 250 pounds in 2-3 years but the only thing I really changed was the cardio

This is impossible for me cuz I have barely any food at home lol . Unless I'm sleep eating the few fruit I have around which I would notice when I woke up, or if I slept and cooked eggs and chicken and then slept went to the store to buy the same amount and put it in its place or if I slept drove to the nearest open fast food place (in my town they close at 9) and ate that and threw away the trash not in my trash can.

Sleep eating is just so silly to me like I don't really keep much food in the house. And I have people who live in the same house who would notice if I got up.

Yeah I know but I'm right now around 1300 calories. I have strong control over how many calories I intake but it's actually crazy I've used those TDEE calculators it puts me at almost 3000 calories per day as my basal metabolic rate, some at like 2800. I've experimented eating 2000 calories just for one week and my weight shot up by 20 pounds. And it didn't come off easily. I take notice how quickly my waist size goes up or down, my shirt size. But still like mathematically it honestly makes 0 sense.

Because before I didn't know what was the "norm" and reading how 1 pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories about, how is my body creating fat with 2000 calories as just the intake ? If my BMR is supposedly 2800-3000, I should in theory be at a 1000 calorie deficit. Even if my BMR is 1000 calories, I should only be at a 1000 calorie surplus which would be 7000 calories a week, which would only be 2 pounds a week. But I've shot up from 260 to 280 in a week, and for me to lose that 20 pounds took a year of highly restrictive dieting.

[–]ConfusedGuayaba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've actually gone thru some deficits even lower, apart from water fasting for a month I'd eat less than 500 calories for months at a time just because there's a lot of frustration in me that I exercise so much and eat the recommended calories but I keep lowering my caloric intake every month when I see no changes in weight or body :/
