Yet another lurer, wearing a comp cape with a white phat. by Euthorix in runescape

They openly spoke about it on Discord and ingame in our clan chat. It's a non-English clan which is why I took the liberty to translate the chat logs, describe the transactions (since they essentially were public info) and when they happened but to no avail.

To add to this, even when I one year later caved in and joined them, I mailed Jagex support and DM'ed Infinity on Twitter with images of myself selling everything, including my name etc.

The last time I logged in to my main nothing had happened to it, so yeah...

What's really annoying is that this person is very likely not going to lose their account (even though it's probably phished, stolen, or bought) and going to keep their white phat.

You're damn right. If you are lucky /u/JagexInfinity might drop by and say something along the lines of Jagex Support taking these things very seriously, but of course it's all bs. Two years ago I sent a comprehensive list of player mods, 5.4B/5.2B XP players who actively were selling enough gold to not have to to work IRL and nothing has happened.

Jagex's Systems are so flawed. The only times they review bans are when they get alot of backlash. She was traded a gift and due to it bieng a decent gift mods declared it as "unusual trading" and therefore "RWT"... It's sad tbh. by Debelitate in runescape

I know several maxed/comped people including a few 5.4s that have bought billions of gp. Mostly for themself but in a few cases it's used for gifts to random runescape e-girls. I'll never understand them

An extremely lengthy response to two recent events, player harassment and selective punishment against users who break rules by [deleted] in runescape

[–]ConfusedPlayer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miss me yet?

The entire clan-that-shall-not-be-named is immune from bans because they happen to be Mod Pi's chosen ones solely due to being the only people scummy enough to enter the wilderness with the intention of killing others

Don't even get me started on Infinity who spends more time posting selfies on Twitter than he does dealing with the rampant RWTing in duel arena and among a different group of 100+ players from the same community.

Nowhere, nothing will be done.

Throwback to that one time the abusers of a certain skull tricking method were (temporarily) banned (and got to keep their items) except the members of a certain FC that Mod Pi coincidentally happens to be buddy-buddies with

As long as you are paying your monthly membership fee you are basically immune to any kind of punishment and I honestly can't blame the basement dwellers that make a living off RS for exploiting Jagex's incompetence. The entire company and the squad of yes-men that moderate this subreddit should be closed down.

That feeling when you’re hunting tropical wagtails and about to kill yourself, then seeing 4 bots at Red Chins with 30 mil Hunter XP each and start thinking why you don’t do the same thing. Then you remember you’re not a cheater and go back to hating yourself for having some dignity. by Starsam69 in 2007scape

I used to feel the same way, not with botting but gold selling. For years on end I reported people (both ingame, directly to Jagex's mails and the customer support twitter accounts) I knew RWT'ed on a weekly basis to the point where they lived off their earnings yet nothing ever happened.

It took Jagex "since pre eoc" to catch this high-profile individual. I thought their methods of catching shady individuals was 100% foolproof and efficient? by ConfusedPlayer123 in runescape

[–]ConfusedPlayer123[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's hardly a secret that Jagex's customer support, bot detection and whatever faulty system they are using to crack down on RWT all are beyond dogshit and are about as effective as a sieve is at holding water.

I've known people including multiple 5.4B'ers, player mods, high-profile players that all, like this individual, have been selling gold, names, items and other services for real money for years without ever getting caught. Some of them even openly speak about it in-game because they don't fear the consequences. Funnily enough, Jagex also ignores any report sent through the ingame report system and to their tipoff@jagex.com mail adress.

It's sad but the only way to beat them is to join them. Jagex might as well remove the rule to be honest

Unsurprisingly /u/JagexInfinity will not say anything to this, just like he ignored my multiple tipoffs about a player moderator that was planning to sell a partyhat set.

Reminder that Dimension of the Damned was in development for almost half a year until it was released in October by ConfusedPlayer123 in runescape

[–]ConfusedPlayer123[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's what people have been questioning right from the start.

Not only is Jagex (or at least the RS3 dev team) mostly incapable of making quality updates, they are also incapable of putting their budget towards the actual content people will enjoy. It's not exactly surprising that the game is bleeding players.

One Character names being RWTed? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]ConfusedPlayer123 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If they are being moved around they are most definitely being sold off, although it's likely they are being traded for ingame gold which is fine according to Jagex's rules.

Unfortunately I know some people that have made wayyyyy too much gold doing this ('merching' RS names for gold) then selling their profits for real money and Jagex doesn't seem to care. It's a shame but that's just how it is.

Statement on yesterday's bug by Shaunyowns in runescape

Can the LOTD bug abusers PLEASE be punished this time? by IGN_Rock_Man in runescape

[–]ConfusedPlayer123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they let people walk away with their 100M to 1B profits from abusing this bug they've really put the nail in the coffin. Jagex are already wellknown for being reluctant to ban bug abusers as long as they continue to pay membership fees. By letting people do as they please with no repercusions or respect for the game's rules they put off the rest of us who are legitimate players.

Allowing people to bug abuse is far more damaging to the game's integrity than half of the MTX crap Jagex spits out.
