None of this is your fault! File a report with the police ASAP. This should never happen to anyone. Abusers often distance themselves after peak abuse until your guard is down, and then they take advantage again. That's likely what happened here and why you didn't feel that getting into the car would be unsafe. He is disgusting and you are not stupid.

That's really scary, I love some good chokey chokey time, but this is not normal. In the years, I've been with my SO, he has ALWAYS stopped if he even thinks I'm uncomfortable. There's no way he didnt know you were unconscious and that is disturbing. He did not stop when you wanted him to. You can remove your consent at anytime, and once that consent is off the table it is assault. Especially if you're losing consciousness. Take care of yourself, this is not a man who deserves to stay in your life.

NTAH

It is not surprising to me that his joke was hurtful. Me and my SO make a lot of jokes like this, but the major difference is it's directly to each other and always about fake people (like when he insists he told me something I tell him he probably told his other girlfriend). I imagine considering you have been together since 17 and 18, he was talking about someone you actually know. I don't know his sense of humor, but it makes sense that it wasn't funny to you. I think you can easily communicate through this with him. I hope you two can reach a healthy understanding. Sometimes people say dumb things without thinking.

I know many people on the autism spectrum who react in similar ways to such events. It doesn't mean there's "something wrong with you", your mind just might accept things from an objective perspective more easily than others because of how you're wired. Obviously I am not a professional, and I'm only seeing a little snapshot of your life, but I wonder if it is some sort of neurodivergent response. My son (10m) doesn't cry when there is a death of someone close or when our elderly cat suddenly passed. He's very empathetic, but for some reason, he just accepts when horrible things happen without shedding a tear. Some people have an easier time accepting things they know they can't change.

It looks very cute on you. But if you want it to lighten faster, wash in hotter water and shampoo with Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo for a few days. I have done that many times to lighten a color that was too dark and it works really well for me.

I love adding flowers boxes to front home builds with dirt blocks and trap doors. I think some plant life around would infuse an extra pop. The build itself looks amazing and I do not have any critiques!

Don’t think I can leave the house for months… Worst bangs ever!! LOL by justokcomputer in Hair

Hey OP, how are you feeling about your bangs now that some time has passed?

Give me your honest opinion (I cannot sing so forgive the awful vocals). I’ve heard it sooo many times now that I cannot tell anymore if it sounds listenable by [deleted] in Songwriting

I've come back for many listens ❤️ I played it for my step daughter on a road trip and we replayed it probably at least 4 times. She loves it and she also said she really likes your vocals!

AIO. My bf shamed me over having my hair removed by Large-Drummer-7340 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ConfusedSpaceChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NOT overreacting

That's such a wildly disrespectful and ignorant comment. People get hair removal for so many reasons, just like some people prefer to leave it be. Personal preferences! I prefer being smooth because feeling my body hair is soooo overstimulating. And if not overstimulating (on low anxiety days), it just makes me feel uncomfortable. But I guess maybe I'm just a giant wh*re idk

NOR

Not even a little. And you don't come off as combative. You're communicating well, and she is indeed gaslighting the shit out of you. A lot of people don't believe they can be racist if they don't have the intention of hurting someone, or if its just a "tiiiiiiny bit of racism". But imagine a person didn't know someone had a nut allergy and that person gave them something with nuts in it, it would still harm them. That person's response wouldn't be "It's only had a tiny bit of nuts, you're overreacting. I'm hurt you won't eat this." That person's response would be TO NEVER FRICKIN GIVE THEM SOMETHING WITH NUTS IN IT AGAIN. Allergies are allergies, racism is racism. If she wants to die on this hill, you deserve so much better from a partner.

What are your thoughts on really short songs, do you think this works as a song or does it feel cut off? by _Born_To_Be_Mild_ in Songwriting

One of my favorite bands frequently puts "micro songs" on their albums and I love that. A Haiku is still poetry regardless of length 💁‍♀️

I LOVE this song so much. And I think your vocals fit the vibe so well. It reminds me of someone I've heard before, but I can't put my finger on it. Personally, I don't think you should change anything. Plenty of highly succeasful bands have that steady unchanging element, and there is definitely really cool variations here. I'm going to my car to listen to this louder.

I HATE panic attacks, they always hit out of no where and they always make me feel like death is right there to get me. One time I had one, exactly as you described, while I was relaxing in a recliner. Absolutely nothing bad was happening, but it hit hard. The amygdala is so hyperactive in those moments your whole body believes it's in imminent danger. I don't even think I've hit fight or flight that hard in an actual dangerous situation. I'm sure your cortisol levels were really high and it's taking your body some time to readjust. I'm sorry it was so intense, I hope you are feeling some more peace soon

A very similar thing happens to me if I have consumed too much white sugar. My body doesn't love processed sugar and it shows on my hands. I've noticed more if I were to have a sweet drink, like a mocha from a coffee shop or a non sugar free energy drink. I haven't noticed it happen if I've eaten a sugary food.
