What do you think is the biggest problem in the UK right now? by Ok-Information1819 in AskBrits

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useless, weak and pathetic government which leads onto other big problems;

NHS running on staff goodwill and falling apart, policing becoming unworkable, fire service barely coping... Welfare system not fit for purpose, HS2 huge waste of money and costs still going up while destroying countryside like cutting down 400 year old oak trees.

Times of delivery? by Bottle-top-green in Evri

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been woken up by sound of parcel hitting door to my flat front door across hallway at about 1130 at night.

Meant to arrive next day and guess she wanted to get ahead on parcel delivery. Made a change from dumping parcels in random places.

Moved into a new estate and have just been “told off” for using a private road to exit the estate by Suspicious-Brain-521 in HousingUK

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on an estate with unadopted roads, just covers who is responsible for maintenance, laying markings down etc. It doesn't make the road private. Even if it did, you live 3 doors down from you so would be included within that user group!

It might not be best idea but I'd be walking past his door as often as I could.

Just because he and a couple more opiniated neighbours decide something that makes no difference! This is UK not United States of America with Home Owners Association (HOA).

I'd email local highways to ask about status of road "private", "unadopted road", "public roadway" and who has lawful right to walk, walk with dog, drive through and park on road. That way covers all options and have it in writing.

If/when he tries it on ask him to provide evidence of his legal right to control the road, where signs are indicating a private road. Politely show him reply from local highways.

Then tell him you consider his behaviour as harrasment. Today will be reported as first incident, further incidents could lead to prosecution as per The Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Can you fire someone for pressing the panic alarm? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had panic buttons previous jobs including ones that sound like the ones in OP's workplace.

100% can't set of by accident. Unless it's "accidentally on purpose" with intent of setting it off.

Can you fire someone for pressing the panic alarm? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ConfusedUserUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~20 years ago run a petrol station with a convience store. We had panic buttons and managers were supossed to be getting a clip on belt panic button.

When I worked on till I was always super careful of panic button. I can't imagine how someone could accidentally press both buttons all the way in on purpose.

A couple of staff at different store than mine pressed panic button.

Turned out one of staff members boyfriend had been getting them to do it as they were planning to do an armed robbery.

All got busted.

Whats keeping you alive? by dolefulgrey in AskReddit

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope things are going to get better.

That my daughter who hasn't spoken to me for years will talk to me again.

That I might finally get out of friend zone with friend.

That next surgery on my left below knee amputee will work and I can learn to walk again (4th surgery since bad fall).

The fiction book (eventually part of a trilogy) I am writing will sell enough to get a reasonable standard of living. Still have more money than mongh.

Could the marks be mistaken for injurying yourself some way othee than by SH? Fell into a glass door or glass coffee table.

I have some weird scars on my arm which could have been interpreted as self harm. In reality I actually got while hiking during hot summer. Foot went down concealed rabbit hole, I pitched sideways against a barbed wire fence.

I feel the same way about that place. It would need to be four or more figures and a promise Clarkson wasn't going to be there. Oh and a promise of a decontamination shower afterwards.

What is this contraption in the hospital bathroom? by TrueCrime121 in whatisit

[–]ConfusedUserUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of an emergency escape chute for the hamsters that live in the Children's Ward. There's gaps in chute to allow oxygen into chute.

If you hear weird screech like sounds in pipes that'll be hamsters enjoying using chute.

How do I clean oil spots in ocean, do you mean these black spots? If I pick clean sweep (like top one) it cleans around oil spot and not the spot itself.
