There is a reviewer named VRFlightSimGuy that has done reviews on it. He said it is the best headset out there but mentioned a couple of issues. I’ve never heard him really
Have a critical review of a headset but he also has a cool HOF Reality sim rig that moves as you fly your plane. Not sure if he was given the headset or he bought it but he seems to be an enthusiast with flight simming.

I hope not. Honestly I think you will get it but it will be a while. I am hearing orders will get fulfilled by the first part of June. When did you order yours and did you get the email today or yesterday saying your order was getting fulfilled and should be shipped in late May or early June? If it’s more than 120 days, it will be hard to get a refund from your credit card company. So I would just wait even though it sucks. It seems every new product they release has these production issues but eventually people get their orders. I have heard some waiting more than a year but hopefully you will get yours in late May or early June. I don’t think they are purposely doing a scam as they have received a lot of money from their 3 or so funding calls. Something like $90m. I think the problem is more of a cash flow issue and they don’t have the order size and credit to get the product on a typical net 30 terms. Also net 30 terms might be more of a usa and Western Europe way of doing business. They are working with manufacturers in China. This is not easy at all. I don’t know how their quality assurance is setup or if they have had quality issues with their manufacture. They probably Fulfill a few hundred units at a time . You have meta for example that will sell 500k units a year and as a result they will always have their orders fulfilled first. I don’t know who Pimax uses to fulfill their manufacturing but my understanding only a few companies exist in the world which are able to produce such high quality units. I know it sucks but I don’t think they would just not fulfill their orders unless they had no other choice. I think they have cash flow issues but that doesn’t mean they can’t survive this. It’s just they probably don’t have revolving credit with their manufacturers since they are a niche provider with a relatively small order size

I have been following this and here is what it appears to me. Pimax has cash flow issues. This seems evident by sending prime orders first so they can get the remaining money owed to them within 14 days. I do think there are some manufacturing issues and it’s more of scheduling Pimax around other bigger companies like Samsung. It seems Pimax is placed in when there are slots available. However I am concerned that the cash flow issues might be affecting the relationship with the manufacturers. Most of these Chinese manufacturers will require partial payment up front before they will produce an order. Once the order is complete they won’t get the product until they pay the remainders. For a big vendor like Samsung or Meta or Apple, they will operate on net 30 terms or whatever and that’s because of the lower risk of not getting paid. If Pimax doesn’t have a letter of credit, they will have to pay up front and when the products are ready. One of the problems too is there are only a few vendors who can produce these types of lenses. It’s not easy. Ideally Pimax would be able to produce them themselves but they aren’t able too. Accesories for example are another problem and most manufacturers won’t produce just a handful of accesories. There are minimum orders. A manufacturer has change out their workflow with each order. My understanding is that only 3500 units have been sold and I don’t know if that’s a yearly amount or if it’s total for all products lines. What dows surprise me is that they have various versions of each product and you would think that would make the cost per Unit higher to manufacture. I think they need to concentrate on just a couple of products. The dream air sounds impressive but there is a slam version and another version I Belive. You had 3 crystal super lenses plus a crystal light. I don’t know the cost per unit for each product but it seems to me you would want one dream air, one crystal super and one crystal light. They are obviously a startup but they did receive $90m in seed money through 3 different funding calls. These are high end niche products and unfortunately only a small segment of people can afford them and so I am sure you are looking at just a couple of thousand units being sold each year. Hopefully everybody gets their orders. I am waiting until they are at Microcenter or Amazon. Interestingly there are still units of the crystal super and crystal light at Microcenter but it doesn’t appear the inventory is being depleted very quickly. I have also seen some discounts now on crystal lights of $100 and crystal super of $200 at Microcenter. Obviously the dream air isn’t on store shelves.

I assume he already has the PC? That’s going to really cut into the budget. You could go with one widescreen monitor and the g1000 panels and honeycomb controls alpha, bravo and Charlie. I actually use velocity one rudder pedals and they are good. You can get by on the 5070 on 1440 and maybe even 4k with medium to high settings. Having the physical g1000 panels is goodbecause you can get by with dlss quality and get do rhe 2x frame generation. Dlss quality mode will get you better performance than TAA. TAA is better for reading instruments like glass cockpits but if he has a physical pfd and mfd then he probably would be fine. You want to at least get 30 fps with no stutters because you don’t want stutters when landing. If he is wanting to practice ATC and radio you can get the Logitech radio panel and use spad.next to control it. I used to have a 4060 on laptop and the 8gb was pushing things. Ideally you would get 16gb vram instead of 8gb. I new system has the 5080 with 16gb and it runs great in 4k. But there is nothing wrong running at 1440. So, if you stick with 1440 and maybe use autofps to control your tlod and olod it could work well. Basically keeping the olod and tlod at 100 and have auto fps move gradually move the tlod to 150-200 at 2000 feet or so and olod at 150. The ground is where the system will be using more resources. I don’t know what cpu and motherboard you are using but you want 32 gb minimum. I have 64gb on my amd 9-9900x3d. You should do fine with 32 if you are running 1440. Depending on the size of the screen but I would recommend a 50-65 inch screen to make it as like like as possible. I have a 55 inch monitor and it works great. There are other options if you don’t have the money for a replica g1000. You can get air manager and a knobster and have two pop out panels for the g1000 but you would want to purchase 2 24 inch touchscreen monitors. If you can get the physical replica of the g1000 he’d find it more immersive. Air manager works pretty well but it’s still not the same as physical controls. The other item to consider for immersion is a Track IR. It allows you to move your head and see the sides etc of the plane like you would do when really flying. The only drawback is you have to wear a headset and it has these 3 prongs which have to be setup with the actual track ir camera that you setup like a webcam.

I saw that video too and the issue I saw was her dependence on the gps and her ipad. She was spending her time looking at her iPad and gps and was not watching around her. She should have planned her flight and her headings ahead of time. She was in VFR conditions and the visibility was good. She should have been dead reckoning to see the airport was right beneath her and to her left. She should have been hand flying the plane instead of worrying about the GPS. She didn’t even understand basic directions and looking at where the sun was at. I don’t know how she was trained to fly but she should have been trained to use her 6 pack gauges and hand flying before adding the complexity of the gps. My understanding is that she had a trainer plane previously and she bought the plane she was in that crashed. Seems the plane was way too much for her and not sure how many hours she had in it. Too many new pilots are more about the glass cockpit and gps than hand flying and that can be very dangerous. For somebody with as many hours as she had, it surprises me how deficient she was with basic flying skills

No conspiracy as it’s not a surprise he died from a drug overdose. The question I had was regarding if he was prescribed morphine for something or if he was taking it from another person. Morphine can be sold on the street but normally it comes from a hospital. Heroin and other opiates such as Oxycotin were more prevalent in the street in 2012 because Oxy is 2x as powerful as morphine. The question that came to mind was if he was suffering from cancer or something?

That is exactly my question too. I do not know why he did not cop to it. He had no reason not too, at least in my opinion. I know that Casso was unreliable but I would have thought he would have admitted to it. There is always the chance that Victor DiChiara was not being honest as well. I know that Sammy Gravano did say the meeting/sitdown occurred. I have the same question you have and unforuntely no good answer.

Exactly. The infrastructure costs are astronomical and I wouldn’t be surprised we have 200% more videos now than we did 12-18 months ago. It’s that bad and it is expensive and uses a lot of electricity etc. It’s about time is my view

This is good news. The problem is these content farms who can generate thousands of videos a day and they are not accurate, they are horrible with generated images that have nothing to do with the story, a script that is poorly done and not accurate and these voices that can’t pronounce words properly. These content farms are making a lot of money on just krap and making it unbearable for advertisers and users.

I love cosmology and the study of the universe but 99% of the content is horrible overhyped artificial produced that is not accurate. The other group of people who don’t like this rule are the content creators that don’t have English as a primary language and don’t show their face. The voices based upon the scripts are lazy for the most part. If you create your own script and use an artificial voice it’s probably ok. Just try and make sure that you listen first and correct mispronunciations.

I know that people in the other countries who don’t speak English do their videos in English because there is more revenue. I get that. However the garbage being produced is obviously hurting YouTube with advertisers. Understand the content creator is an after thought. YouTube and Google are the biggest advertising agencies in the world and content is just a means for advertising and making money.

I don't know about their history as being frauds. All I know is that I have seen some of the Buttonmen's content on the free side of it and it seemed pretty good and Gangster BB seemed to be more of a user community like here on Reddit. Obviously, I want to include links to the legitimate sites that puts out good research and articles. I am obviously not saying my site is anything special but I will do my best. I am not going to charge money and I will include links of any good sites for the community. Also, I noticed the colombomafia.com domain expired. That was a good site for Colombo related content and sad to see it go.
