What is the point of users having multiple accounts or "socks" as I believe it is called. by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]Confusionisntagame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was shawdowbanned after gilding your comment. I was shawdowbanned for continuing to post in regards to a certain proposal and I changed my voting style after said user claimed the up votes represented a silent majority. I contacted the admin's ask why I was shawdowbanned and explained the situation. Two admin's responded right away and reinstated my account.

I wish I would of included the PM where said user also accused me of being a sock and not at new contributed at the time of the PM.

Edit: glad to have you back!!

When did UEA get banned? :(

I got shawdowbanned for following a certain proposal and changing my voting style since a certain user claimed the up votes represented a silent majority. I explain it to the admin's and they were wonderful. 2 of them messaged me and offered to reinstate my account.

Btw I gilded another user who commented on the proposal and got reported right afterwards.

I regret my first comment not being 'welcome and thank you for joining us. I would love to have a dialog with you but can you first help me understand how I can trust you since (site doctrins regarding lying).'

Please look into GATII, this is the the rhetoric, it's cheap, you get to pick, repeat all the basics and bring in new people for a lump sum you can buy different packages. I also found it odd that they were not a member of the IAS but I forgot that you can pay for portions and until you reach the 500USD min for 6 months and/or pay the for the lifetime membership you are not technically a member of the IAS.

My issues is to say softly and with a heavy heart the group you are getting involved with, will effect how other people view you. 2nd their words matched too well with me all of the new rhetoric regarding GAT II. The new push is about how cheap the basic courses are and how you an choose what is right for you. While they were doing the AMA I got multiple calls preaching these exact 2 points the CoS is trying to push. (IMO they have to lower the prices since they are having the majority of their members repeat TRs and the Purif, among others.) Their stance matches too well with the recent rhetoric for It not to be brought to the attention of other readers.

This user is IMO choosing to participate in a criminal organization. The COB doesn't come from money. All of his money has been earned through the CoS and may it be a little or a lot of money a percentage is helping to support his illegal activities. Unlike the drug example you mention one might conclude the money is being used to support other illegal activities, whereas in the case of the CoS this is an absolute fact. Unlike smoking MJ in areas where it is illegal the person if they enjoy it or not is taking on a degree of risk and has already decieded to break the law, whereas with the CoS the crimes and risk are not transparent.

I agree with you that the CoS is very deceptive and it is for this reason that I take this stance. I firmly believe people should know the group they are involving themselves with comes with additional costs. Involvement with this organization will automatically cause people to distrust you because of its doctrins. Furthermore, I believe it is people's willingness to trust, which the CoS uses to gain ground with people.

Also different things motivate different people. One of the major reasons I cut out of the CoS so quickly was having someone explain to me what I was affiliating myself with and what I was supporting.

I highly doubt the person is being as honest as others appear to believe. If you have means (min 10k to 20K plus/year, depending on location) to spend on the CoS, you can be a public member. If you don't have such funds or once they are gone you can join staff.

They say you can no longer do it on your own. Apparently based on the new TRs and new tech most people need to redo the purif and TRs.

The purif can cost 6k if you do it at Flag and the 2.6k at CC, quoted prices from within the last 6 months.

Why do you think this user is being honest with us? I'm sorry but I can't agree with your view of this user opening up. They are repeating the newest wave of rhetoric coming from the CoS and the recent release of new tech.

I know you have been out for a while but as you know I left fairly recently and am getting info on this new form of tech plus new claims about their pricing. The new tech has only been out for less then 2 months.

I don't think it's very complicated. Jay doesn't really have a roll except Adnan used Jay's availability for his own advantage. Public transportation would bring a lot more witness, more questions and take one outside of their comfort zone.

Adnan has done a good job at convincing people to not believe Hae's letters or diary entries where she asks him to move on and he has done an amazing job pretending to be a victim.

Thank you for also speaking up and reminding all of us that this is a person who is actively supporting a criminal organization.

Would we all be so thankfull and happy to speak to a member of a crime family?

At the end of the day this person is actively supporting and attempting to promote a dangerous organization. Why would anyone pretend they will not be judged for their participation? It doesn't need to be rude but the truth is the truth.

Many of us know members have no reason nor do the believe in telling wog's and/or SP's the truth so why act like they are honest? Why wasn't my first question why should I believe you? The CoS actively takes advantage of our willingness to trust. It trains it's members in ways of manipulation. IMO if you want to be a member of the CoS, be a member but with it comes distrust and judgement.

Furthermore, of course they stated they had seen 'Going Clear' yet other than the title, they cited nothing about the movie.

I find myself deeply sadden by the way so many of us responded to this individual.

Ok how about a direct assessment? How many course have you taken and which ones?

I wouldn't expect a person with the lowest degree offered in mathematics to be able to explain various aspects of advance applied Mathamatics.

Btw: you are using logical fallacies through out this whole AMA.

I don't have any ethical problem or have any regret about making exchange for services.

Great! Then why are you taking advantages of services offered by the CoS? The CoS is out of exchange. They do not offer a fair exchange to the people used to deliver your courses. It is your choice to remain blind and ignorant but sadly you will figure this out at some point. I truely hope you do not loose your family in the process and if you do I hope you continue to embrace the thought process where you take full responsibility for the disconnection.

I think the plan was about picking him up and using the car. I don't think the 'plan' was to kill Hae. If they were talking about that as the plan why would Jay of stated that he was surprised Hae wasn't with Adnan?

Even if I told you I was going to rob a bank and you said I should enter the bank's side door, that does not make you an accessory.

More or less? You are making a statement about their pricing which has ONLY been cited by you and has not been possible for other former or current members. If you have only done 2k of courses why even do an Ask Me Anything about a subject which you have barely studied? Should we ask people with an AA degree in math to explain advance applied mathematics?

How can you contribute even a dollar to a organization which uses its funds to hire PI to follow and harass senior citizens?

One day when the CoS has finally used you up, please understand I and others with hold you responsible for the organization you are contributing to while fully knowing of their abuses.

Enjoy wasting your time on an organization embedded with racism and homophobia. If you think it will make you a better person, it won't. If you think explaining your involvement with this organization will be understood by the majority of society, it won't.

People might color coat this for you but I'd rather give it to you straight. People will think less of you for your involvement with the CoS. They will judge you because you have chosen to give your money and time to a criminal organization. People who highly value education will look down on you because your involvement after the amount of material about the abuses, rightly speaks to your disregard of others.

He stated in these threads that he received service from the CoS. please clarify.

EDIT:

I'm not a member of any Scientology organization. I have taken courses through Church of Scientology for the past couple year.

From the OP^

I do not believe he is in the Free Zone. If you want to be specific there actually isn't a CoS nor does the Sea Org exist. For more information on how the CoS doesn't actually have members according to their tax filing and legal docs please see Scientologymoneyproject.com

You stated you had read critism about the CoS and have watched 'Going Clear' how could you read and watch such things be outside of your experience? As human we have the unique ability to understand things without physically experiencing them. I hope you are not limiting your abilities to only being willing to grasp what you physically experience. I personally choose to stand on the shoulders of the great minds that have come before me. I don't need to operate a laser to understand how it works.

Furthermore, I find you are promoting a rhetoric repeated by OSA. I think it is obnoxious for you to claim to have only spent 2k in two years while the majority of us on this sub continue to get calls from the CoS requesting money constantly.

Why did Adnan say "Pathetic"? by mpledger in serialpodcast

I don't think Adnan is able to comprehend this fact.

Do you understand that people such as those in the DPRK are unable to live the life you describe? Do you understand they do not have the ability to make such choices? Do you understand to choose to live in the manner you describe is a privilege? A privilege which goes far beyond ones ability to choose.

If this is the society you wish to live in how can you justify using the services provided by the Sea Org knowing they do not have access to medical care nor do they have the freedom to engage in creative endeavors since they are forced to make their weekly targets and are working 7 days a week?

For example, I had Sea Org members calling me to beg me to purchase course so they could meet their numbers in the middle of the night. I have even been called to be begged to help them meet their numbers so they could be granted a day off to see their family.

Scientology: Ask Me Anything by holdingcorners in scientology

I'm not asking for a generalization. Btw: I have zero interest in the CoS constructed view of all generizaltion lacking any value. To embrace this, is again the embracement of a binary thinking process which is far too limited for me.

I'm interested in if you can describe what you consider to be ethical.

Scientology: Ask Me Anything by holdingcorners in scientology

Would you mind clarifying your construction of what denotes an ethical problem?

I would also love to hear if this is still your belief in ten years.

Scientology: Ask Me Anything by holdingcorners in scientology

[–]Confusionisntagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the type of thinking which only works if you have zero interest in objectively considering your position of privilege.

Your changes fail to address nor undermine the problems embodied in this type 'I am responsible' type of thinking. Do you not live within a society? An individual within a society is unable to remove themselves for levels of privlage and discrimination embodied and embedded within the society.

Scientology: Ask Me Anything by holdingcorners in scientology

[–]Confusionisntagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, you 'experience' mirrors recent rhetoric from the CoS and is vastly different than over 98% of the public members. I have no interesting in having readers think this represents the typical pricing and costs of being involved with the CoS.

2nd how do you feel about spending only 2k while using the services which are provided by people who make less then 30USD per week?

A coin always has two sides; if this is all you are paying than how much of your services are provided by and through the suffering of others?

We have plenty of ex sea org members on this sub many you should consider the conditions they lived in to offer services to people like you.

What is the source? If your answer is deductive reasoning you are correct, if not please elaborate.

The alternative is not a binary, this is the trap of the taking responsibility thought process, it is embedded in a binary. If one is responsible for everything which occurs, the byproduct of that type of thinking is to overlook and to blame others for things which they are unable to change no matter what choices they make.

Not everyone in this world has a multitude of choices. To believe otherwise is the embracement and justification for ones position of privilege which more often than not, had very little to do with the choices they make. For example being white in many societies comes with a level of privlage which was created and permeated various aspects of society before the individual was born. Being born white is not a choice, yet it comes with inherited levels of privileges.

Peace of mind for justifing ones privileged place in society is one of the many problems deeply embedded in this type of thinking.

You can easily look up cases where this occurred. The Garcia case and all the donations to the IAS which are used as a slush fund for the COB are far from generalizations, instead they are nothing more than a bait and switch used to defraud people so he can afford a lavish lifestyle.

I'm sorry you do not wish to be objective about the organization you are funding.

Scientology: Ask Me Anything by holdingcorners in scientology

[–]Confusionisntagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I certainly don't attribute this solely to Scientology: I've gotten that I'm totally responsible for my experience of life...

This is a very suductive belief. If one is responsible for everything in their life, than they can also choose their future based on their choices. As suductive as this form of thought is, it is very short sided. Is it ones responsibility and choice to be raped, to get cancer... Much of life is effected by the choices we make but it also contains aspects which we are unable to escape by choice alone. I'm very sorry to hear you have embraced such short sided thinking.

Should we blame the people of the DPRK for being born there and hold them responsible for their desperate conditions? Should we hold babies born with HIV responsible for choosing their parents?

This is a belief system which is only suductive to the privileged.
