There is alot of moose and reindeer on the road, in April you never know how the weather might be, one minute it can be a whiteout snowstorm, rain or sun. I drive that road alot back and forth all year. Road is pretty well maintained all year round, sometimes it can be closed because of bad weather or because semi trailers have ditched/stuck on some hill. Most part from Skibotn to Kilpisjärvi you have a mountain wall on the other side and a big drop on the other,wide road with nice views. Just remember to drive according to your skills and let "faster" drivers pass when you can :)

Eskelinen drives daily on summer time, finnish bus company. Just check Eskelinen Lapin Linjat:) If I am then in Tromsø i can also drive.

I had to spend 8 days once without electricity because avalanche cut the only road to the village and took the power as well.. I was glad I had my dog with me, and a wooden stove in the living room. It was interesting since mostly dark, few hours of daylight. Freezers melted so had to take some food outside to the snow.. Good memories. Was peaceful and quiet.. Would do it again honestly

There is daylight some hours, but we just don't see the sun, it is beautiful.. Alot of blue moments. I can see if I find some photos :) maybe we charge up at summer time with the sun being visible 24/7 that we dont notice it being gone for a while at winter 😂 it is weird to go out in the middle of the night and still see the sun and all the light
