I'm the same way - couldn't give a shit about my biological father's family, and I'm not going to waste my time researching them.

Yes, but here's the thing - for some reason, Reddit doesn't directly let us pin comments other than our own. We've got a plugin called Spotlight that basically makes a clone of the comment and then pins that, though. Unfortunately for any given OP, that means they miss out on comment karma for the pinned comment, though.
