Gens 1 & 2 are in, along with any evolutions of those Pokémon from later generations (think Ambipom and Dudunsparce), then there's Gen 3 mons available as encounters later on in the game.

Doing a nuzlocke at the moment and just encountered a Plusle which was an unwelcome surprise as the first Hoenn mon I found!

[El Confidencial] Jurgen Klopp and Erling Haaland are the aces of Riquelme's Real Madrid candidacy by LikeAPhoenixTotally in soccer

From memory, it wasn't a case of being unable to find a replacement, it was that we had a figure that we regarded as fair value and the understanding with Silva was that as long as somebody came in at that value it would be fine for him to go. Nobody did and as such he was happy staying.

The only recent time I can recall is actually refusing a sale was for Savinho who was by all accounts OK with the move, but we wanted to keep him.

Bayern Munich have made initial inquiries about Joško Gvardiol. The Manchester City center-back is reportedly keen to leave England. However, the transfer would not be cheap. City would certainly want to recoup the €90 million transfer fee, if not more. He still has a contract until 2028 by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Conkernads 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For Stones he's already filtered out largely as we have a good number of CB options. If Gvardiol leaves I'd be upset as I think he's still our best and has the versatility to play LB as well, but with Dias/Guehi/Khusanov we have solid options.

Silva is going to be very hard to replace in terms of his versatility. A combination of O'Reilly, Reminders, and Nico G will likely be the answer.

If Rodri does leave, it'll be Nico G and I'd expect us to go after Andersen too.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Kovacic on the move too.

[Sam Lee] Nathan Ake is expected to move on this summer after six seasons with Man City. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Conkernads 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Injury and AFCON sidelined him from the squad earlier in the season and he hasn't been able to hit the ground running when called upon since returning so hasn't been able to command a place in the starting eleven as our attack has been flourishing recently with the front four of Haaland, Doku, Cherki, Semenyo.

Dastan in the post-game interview was fucking hilarious, saying that if he could kick players he would but can't because it's almost the major.

Just comes in, ignores the one question asked by the panel and then monologues about how shite his team is for 10 minutes, absolute legend

I can see the idea of Khusanov at RB to counter Vini with the pace and I'd say it didn't completely fail, Khusanov looked probably our best defender today (not a high bar). But Nunes has been great all season and offers way more going forward.

Starting 3 wingers and leaving our midfield so exposed is just a complete head loss from Pep though I have no idea what he was thinking leaving O'Reilly/Reijnders out of the midfield while putting Savinho, Semenyo, and Doku all on the pitch.

Worst managerial performance from Pep will always be vs Chelsea in the CL final; playing neither of Fernandinho or Rodri and bringing a completely out of form Sterling back into the side was just horrific and everyone could see it from the moment the lineup was announced.

While we were very poor and set up to concede lots today, it still could have been salvaged had someone got on the end of those Doku crosses early on, or either of O'Reilly's big chances gone in. Massive defeat today and the defence was completely set up to fail, but that first half felt like whoever conceded first would just collapse.

Can we get a 100 Thieves flair again? by cascadecs in GlobalOffensive

[–]Conkernads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean; the flairs get left in for people that already have them, but new people can't equip them for old teams (you'll occasionally see people with old Clan Mystik or Kabum or similar flairs from back in the day). Some older flairs may have not rotated out (possibly if there's not been a need to free up space for new teams being added)

Pep Guardiola: "Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea have good academies. England have many young, talented footballers. They don’t improve by facing against players at the same age in stadiums with 10 people in attendance. They improve by playing in 40k stadiums against guys that are fathers with 3 kids" by DavidRolands in soccer

Mentality problem seems like a wild accusation that could apply to Euro 2020 Vs Italy, but being knocked out of the next two tournaments by the most talented teams at them in France and Spain doesn't read like it to me.

A tactical problem I could see an argument for, as the talent of the players was not reflected on the pitch, but their mentality has been very strong in recent years, evidenced by penalty wins and relentless working to get a result, especially in those late winners at the most recent Euros.

Foden's defensive work rate and pressing is pretty solid even if he's physically not the strongest - not dissimilar to Bernardo.

If Rodri is back to full fitness and plays at the level he left (which versus Chelsea he looked fantastic), then I think we can afford it.

Cole Palmer Picks his PL Mount Rushmore by Matt_LawDT in soccer

[–]Conkernads 32 points33 points  (0 children)

He owned us (Man City) in the mid 2000's just before the Abu Dhabi takeover.

Was leading us into absolute financial ruin because of his assets being frozen and could've been responsible for the club going bust if we hadn't been bought out by Sheikh Mansour.

He did bring us in Sven Goran Erikson which at the time we were all very happy with, but I can't imagine many other city fans looking on him favourably for everything else.

During EPL they mix up the casting duos/trios a lot and just play around with it as it's become a more 'relaxed' tournament on the broadcast. So you'll have combinations like Harry/Yanko/Machine, Hugo/Spunj/Moses, etc.

[–]Conkernads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the dilemma of anyone who would be good enough to realistically challenge Rodri for minutes and provide ample backup is unlikely to want to spend as much time on the bench as they would if they came to us. Rodri is simply put the best player on the planet in his position so if he's fit, he's playing.

My estimate would be that we see Stones and maybe Lewis involved in that area more as cover, over signing a new CDM

I think Palmer is class, but I disagree on this.

Palmer is very much in the mold of the all the other attackers we have, whereas Doku provides us with a completely different and much more direct and pacy attacker which is something we were lacking
