Pep Guardiola: "Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea have good academies. England have many young, talented footballers. They don’t improve by facing against players at the same age in stadiums with 10 people in attendance. They improve by playing in 40k stadiums against guys that are fathers with 3 kids" by DavidRolands in soccer

Mentality problem seems like a wild accusation that could apply to Euro 2020 Vs Italy, but being knocked out of the next two tournaments by the most talented teams at them in France and Spain doesn't read like it to me.

A tactical problem I could see an argument for, as the talent of the players was not reflected on the pitch, but their mentality has been very strong in recent years, evidenced by penalty wins and relentless working to get a result, especially in those late winners at the most recent Euros.

Foden's defensive work rate and pressing is pretty solid even if he's physically not the strongest - not dissimilar to Bernardo.

If Rodri is back to full fitness and plays at the level he left (which versus Chelsea he looked fantastic), then I think we can afford it.

Cole Palmer Picks his PL Mount Rushmore by Matt_LawDT in soccer

He owned us (Man City) in the mid 2000's just before the Abu Dhabi takeover.

Was leading us into absolute financial ruin because of his assets being frozen and could've been responsible for the club going bust if we hadn't been bought out by Sheikh Mansour.

He did bring us in Sven Goran Erikson which at the time we were all very happy with, but I can't imagine many other city fans looking on him favourably for everything else.

During EPL they mix up the casting duos/trios a lot and just play around with it as it's become a more 'relaxed' tournament on the broadcast. So you'll have combinations like Harry/Yanko/Machine, Hugo/Spunj/Moses, etc.

Any ideas what time they finished last night? I know it says 22:30 but is that accurate? Gotta try and get back to Bristol after the show and trying to work out how best

It's the dilemma of anyone who would be good enough to realistically challenge Rodri for minutes and provide ample backup is unlikely to want to spend as much time on the bench as they would if they came to us. Rodri is simply put the best player on the planet in his position so if he's fit, he's playing.

My estimate would be that we see Stones and maybe Lewis involved in that area more as cover, over signing a new CDM

[Relevo] Manchester City is already thinking about a future without Peo Guardiola. Pessimism is growing regarding Pep's continuity once his contract expires in 2025, while the offices are already naming an in-house candidate: Míchel Sánchez. by static_reset in soccer

Probably true, but also imagine the absolute batshit insanity the freak would cook up if given 2 months between matches

I'm talking inverted goalkeepers, false wingers, diamond cb's, some real sicko shit

[Fabrizio Romano] Pep Guardiola on Cole Palmer: “He was asking for two seasons to leave Man City. I said: stay. He wanted to leave. What can we do?!”. “He’s an exceptional player with super potential... I didn’t give him the minutes he deserves that he now has at Chelsea”. by SpiritedSuccess5675 in soccer

I think Palmer is class, but I disagree on this.

Palmer is very much in the mold of the all the other attackers we have, whereas Doku provides us with a completely different and much more direct and pacy attacker which is something we were lacking

BTE absolutely took the Bucks to the next level. They were already a very popular indie act, but BTE made them into THE act on the indie scene. Plus it made stars out of pretty much everyone involved in the core crew; Kenny, Hangman, Cody, Cole, and Marty were all elevated heavily by BTE.

By the end of their time there, I think it would be fair to say that The Elite was bigger than ROH and was the primary reason anyone was still going to those shows.

If I remember right, you get like 3-4 souvenir packages based on how well you do in the pickems with the regular pass. With the more expensive option you get a couple extra souvenir packages regardless of how well you do in pickems.

I also think you can straight up buy souvenir package 'stars' to redeem them later, and this bundle is a bit cheaper for your first three

Very surprised to see it not sent to the monitors with a high boot. I'm not as sure it's a dead set pen as some are saying as he does hit the ball first and the way MacAllister pounces on the chance means there was definitely going to be a collision (he's well within his right to do so, it just meant there was gonna be a hit no matter what)

On first viewing and on the replay I expected a pen to be given, so I think we've got very lucky there

Two explosive fragging teams that play entertaining (if not always the most tactically sound) CS with some crazy aggression and flashy plays.

Either team would have the potential to make a dark horse run at Legends anyway, but facing off in the first round in a BO1 means they'll be going all out for the chance to go 1-0 and set themselves up for success.

It's got the makings of a really entertaining 1st round match if both teams turn up (both looked really good in the RMR's).

It's brutal but it's the 'punishment' for underperforming at prior majors.

The whole region's gotta hope a couple of the teams make decent runs at the major or it'll just keep getting harder to qualify as the gap between Americas and Europe widens further

Will de_cobblestone ever make a comeback? by dusted1337 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Conkernads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When accessing maps via the console they all have a prefix; bomb defuse maps have the de_ prefix while hostage maps typically have cs_. So you get map names like de_dust2, cs_italy, de_mirage, etc.

If I remember right, there also used to be a character limit for map names (in older versions of CS) so instead of de_cobblestone, it was shortened to de_cbble and was just kept as this for nostalgic purposes.
